Radomes are needed because everyone has them. Everyone except you had an extra .7 tons on their plane - - - Updated - - - Radomes add the capability to use AMRAAMs, and make the radar warning recover work. That way I know if someone has missile lock on me, even if they use heat seekers. - - - Updated - - - And how does radar work if you don't even have an enclosure for it? If we didn't have radomes it would be like 1940s combat with modern planes which makes no sense. Radar was even used to aim guns.
