@Spacescifi, write that down! That’s a viable SSTO design, and it doesn’t even need an antimatter bomb pusher plate!

SLS/Orion.

The funniest thing is that the comic isn’t completely wrong about epigenetics. My lab studies DNA methylation (an epigenetic modification), and when we need to show a modified nucleotide (usually methylcytosine) in a sequence, we just underline it.

What’s the limit? Height of Super Heavy booster probably.

It would surprise me if it didn’t get frozen. There’s no rocket for it. -

Not really, he said that this mode of landing stages (horizontally) might be better suited for future Russian reusable rockets than SpaceX-style. If it works for Krylo-SV, they’ll use it with methalox Soyuz-SPG. Speculation: assume best case scenario, and both reusable rockets work great. The wing-based recovery should then be quite easy to adapt to other rockets made of standardized modules, such as Angara-A5, -A5V, Superheavy Yenisei and its single-stick derivatives Soyuz-5 and -6. In case of Yenisei, there can be 6 booster landings per launch, imagine how cool that is. -
SpaceX now has a serious competition.

Really? I had an unusual rash on the back of my hands 2-3 weeks ago. No corona symptoms. Thought it was some kind of allergy, but now it’s gone.
-
I think it’s safe to say that the “quarantine” is either not working at all or is vastly underperforming. The spread rate has been nearly constant for the last two weeks.
-
Amazing. The geniuses in Moscow city administration have put security checkpoints at every Metro station to verify lockdown passes. Results: Great job, truly marvelous planning, now every passenger is likely infected.

3rd world has younger population, so corona won’t hit them as hard.

Yes, they are. Mr. Rogozin is once again demonstrating that he is a master diplomat. Do you drink water? Oh, but do you know who else drank water!? That’s right. You’re basically just as bad as him. -
This sets them back for what, 2-3 weeks or less?
-
Nope. Increased testing would've reduced the deaths/cases ratio. In reality it is steadily increasing right now. Looks like it.
-
Data don’t look good here in RF. Worse than US and Italy atm. Perfectly exponential growth with no signs of slowing down. ~25% more cases every day.

Interesting that they list the LEO mass as 100+ t, but GTO mass is fixed at 21 t, not 21+.

Good luck explaining that to the police squad when they catch you outside.

A 20t craft smashing into the Moon from high orbit will have ~5.7 GJ of kinetic energy. 135t of TNT equivalent if that energy is released as heat.
-
Where else will it go from the Gateway? Crash into the Moon? IMO it has to return to Earth (and burn up).

-
I think it’s pictured right after the TLI burn, decoupling from the upper stage. The docking port seems to be facing back towards the stage.

It’s likely the former because the render came from SpaceX. A boring, dirt-cheap non-reusable cylinder. If Starship doesn’t work, SpaceX will keep improving it until it works or they run out of money. It’s required for Mars, and Mars is the reason why SpaceX was created.
