  1. True, however it had no large biological entities onboard ... metals, ceramics and other compunds used in the design and construction of spacecraft can sustain much more stress than us 'squishy' types
  2. Both of those do exist, however consider that everything inside your body in not being held in place. Your body consists of individual parts such as your muscles, skeleton, blood and organs and all these organs have mass and some are heavier than others ... Think about the individual weights of each organ and how it would be compressed I see bruised livers, bruised hearts, bruised kidneys, possible concussion like symptoms, increased strain on the lungs, blood system going all out of whack due to restriction of capillary flow, possible nervous system effects, stressed ligaments, strained or bruised muscles, spinal disc degeneration .... the list goes on
  3. Yeah, acceleration couch ... is that something like an inertial dampener? No such technology exists as of this post (and is not likely to exist in the forseeable future) I think you give too much credit to the human body ... I spent 2 years on my back and it sure affected me after I started walking again Even to this day I have to be careful not to exert myself due to the risk of an exploding heart Your body is not able to sustain high amounts of G forces over the period of time being discussed here without having some form of possible medical complications
  4. Upload it so others can test if the procedurally generated craters will be an issue From what I understand, the craters on the mun arent the same for everyone
  5. Something that hasn't been mentioned here is that experiencing prolonged G forces above 1G could likely cause cardiac arrest in regards to the time scale in question here ... also, the cerebral/spinal fluid in your body that transports nutrients and removes waste from your brain would likely not work in the manner that it does The human body is a fragile thing ... nobody is superman/superwoman
  6. What ... are you afraid of a little competition? I said I've gotten up to 40m/s ... didn't say the craft survived the experience
  7. No need to return the rover, just get your Kerbal back to the KSC
  8. @Leafbaron - anxiously awaiting the save file @Magzimum - I like the idea as it stands, it is about the journey there and back again Also, I've hit speeds over 40m/s on the mun ... perhaps a rethink of your rover designs might be in order if you can only hit 5m/s
  9. BDAc release v0.11.1.6 adresses your issue ... it is easily found by going to Papa Joes Soup on Github and looking I'll give you a hint, it can be found below: https://github.com/PapaJoesSoup/BDArmory/releases
  10. Yes, there was an update patch for going from v1.2.1 to v1.2.2 last time I logged into the KSP store (couple months ago) I never use the patch but I haven't seen any salt about it on the forums so it should work just fine
  11. Hi @THE17KYD, welcome to the forums Unfortunately BDArmory Continued does not work with KSP v1.1.2 and is currently only being supported from 1.2.2 and up With that being said, most weapon mods for KSP are addons to BDAc and require it in order to work so you will likely need to update your KSP to v1.2.2 in order to do the military series you mentioned Here's the link to our thread for BDAc:
  12. Pitch Ki is essentially a PID controller that is used to stabilize your pitch control and makes for a smoother ride Use this slider to 'fix' up and down wobble of your aircraft Look up PID controller online and start reading if you want an in depth explanation The BDAc Team
  13. @Azimech - there are a couple parts that I think would be a great addition to this drag racing mod ..... 1- Training wheels like the ones I posted earlier in the thread 2- Water Jets that, instead of using liquid fuel and air, use Torque and Water as their fuel (for top fuel boat dragsters) 3- Water intakes to provide water as a resource (see 2)
  14. I personally think it should be in game time as it puts people with slower computers at a disadvantage since the ingame time could possibly run slower than real world time for some ... This could potentially make their times skewed as compared to people with faster computers
  15. So I regret to inform you all that the save with the Mad Moose is totally Borked .... I guess that is my run as I'm not going through and setting it all up again On the upside, I still have the Mad Moose craft as well as Bill's Big Bad Beaver
  16. I think that would be considered going against the spirit of the Dakar
  17. 6/10 ... the facial expression is a bit disheartening
  18. Receives a stick figure in a Fonzy pose Inserts a roll of red tape
  19. I'm liking this idea so far ... One thing to think about is if you have to stop at each flag or can you just barrel past each one So far I see that I could easily do this in one go on video ... Launch to the Mun, land beside the starting flag, race the track as laid out, return to the KSC with the race vehicle intact, smoke my cigar and revel in my achievement Thoughts?
  20. I would suggest making it a short track as a large part of the challenge is getting your vehicle to the Mun safely and returning your Kerbal back to the KSC ... Making it a short track would facilitate a single run ... Maybe land at the first flag then race to the second flag and back, then get your Kerbal back to the KSC (not necessarily the whole race vehicle ... just the Kerbal) Thoughts?
  21. That is unless you use rockets pointed up to stick yourself to the surface
  22. These are questions that need to be answered
  23. So when I asked @SuicidalInsanity about coming up with a grandstand finish I had also mentioned banked corners and loop de loops ... I think he outdid what I asked him to look into Why you gotta hate? ... Don't like it then don't use it
