I, too, was thoroughly disappointed when I saw that the speed indicator was in mi/hr. Not even SpaceX uses m/s like they should. I can judge highway speed in those units, but I have no idea how fast that rocket is going except from what I know from KSP and the occasional mach number given by the announcers.

KSP can be so much more than a fun little space game! I am learning this more and more through my own experiences in it, through what other people have made in it, and through touching stories like yours of its influence on people's real lives. It is truly an amazing community for an amazing game.

How To REALLY Get Angry At Space Science Deniers
cubinator replied to NeoMorph's topic in The Lounge
And wind is actually gravity waves pushing on us. -
Eh, I don't like the feeling of being everywhere at once. Also, instant death.

the War of the World: a WWII soldier's harrowing story. Finding NEO: Earth-crossing asteroids can be a real threat. Scientists and amateur astronomers must work together to find dangerous objects before it's too late! Star Wars: A New Hop: Luke fixes up a broken warp drive so he can go on to the next planet.

Not today! Instead, I summon @Vanamonde!

That's a great idea! Since this game only involved a few people at a time, it's possible to have multiple game modes people can try. Maybe you could add a hard mode:

I feel like if the capsule was flatter, it would be more stable during reentry. That or there could be some small airbrakes at the very top to keep it pointed mostly downwards. Right now, it would be an awfully dizzying flight!
-
Ok, cool. I wouldn't want to try landing a non-gimballing engine, even with fins.
-
Cool. It sounds like it doesn't have a gimbal either, they're saying they use the fins for stability all the way.
-
So this rocket is flying for the fourth time? Impressive, although it's not experiencing nearly as much stress as the Falcon 9. What's the TWR of the booster at landing?

If I try to make Atomic Scale Solar System a reality, does it void the warranty?

That was fun! Here's something I would do to make the game more interesting: you could add one of these two things: -A note saying how many questions the Computer got through, and a leaderboard for the highest-scoring computers, OR... -A rule limiting the number of questions the Interrogator can ask before making an official guess. The second option makes more sense with the current rule set, IMO. Just something to consider to make the game more interesting, at least for the Interrogator. As it is now, they can just keep asking questions until they get an answer that is really obviously from a computer. Limiting the number of questions would put pressure on the Interrogator to choose their questions wisely in order to see as well as possible who is the Computer. Just my 0.02 Funds.

Ask a stupid question, Get a stupid answer back.

Because carrots are not square. How low can a protist count? -
Oh man, another opportunity to post my favorite star name...But I won't because that would be simply obnoxious. Instead, take this: Spica

Wait...I wonder if this is actually possible using Kopernicus? All you'd have to do is change the diameters of the planets (and atmospheric height when applicable) and boom, Kraken heaven. I wonder if ships would undergo spaghettification if they got too close and "landed"...and just think what would happen to KSC, which would stay the same size! Don't use the launchpad, anything placed on it will fall down into the VAB!

I'm not time traveling! You are in the future too! Banned in order to abide by the rules of this forum game.

...when you finally get your Rubik's Cube to work without a bunch of parts attaching to each other through thin air and getting stuck... The feeling of accomplishment when you get something really hard done is great, especially when it's a real engineering problem as opposed to just some challenge in your average FPS or other "just for fun" game. I still haven't got the second version up, it's still in testing. 6-8 moves actually takes a *long* time when it keeps running into what I call the "quantum entanglement glitch", and I've been really into Xevious right now... I might finally finish the first Square-in-the-Middle pattern tomorrow and release the cube for everyone to use.

Do you have a screenshot that makes you laugh every time?
cubinator replied to Randazzo's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Actually, at first glance I thought it looked like a brain. For some reason, that reminds me of these: I'm not sure why, though. -
