How do you guys deal with cultural differences? I mean, being an international forum, people from different cultures gather here, so it's expected that some cultural 'clashes' will happen at some point. Things that someone thinks it's ok, and it's totally accepted in their culture, but the other finds it very offensive. Even in the mod team I imagine this might happen. Even in how people speak, for exemple, here (where I live) people tent to avoid "negative things" (don't know how to express that) so they would often use some form of euphemism to get around. But that are a lot cultures that say things more directly, and would be considered rude here. This may start a disccusion where neither sides are actually wrong, they just express themselfs differently. Other thing is the language barrier, someone might not be fluent in English or with enough knowledge of it to express itself properly. Notice that I'm not talking about grammar here, but expressing ones thoughts. The sentence might be grammatically correct, but express something different from what the writter had in mind, thus creating a confusion.

Mechjeb Problem Executing Nodes
VaPaL replied to jonpen69's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
@jonpen69 and @PayadorPerseguido you should try the Mechjeb thread, there is the best place to get help for MJ. -

A quick update: OSIRIS-REx successfully performed it's first Deep Space Maneuver on December 28th and yesterday (January 18th) also successfully performed a Trajectory Correction Maneuver. On February it will serach for Earth Trojans and on September it will do and Earth fly-by. http://spaceflight101.com/osiris-rex-aces-deep-space-maneuver/ EDIT: Well, I just notice that this is not on Science & Spaceflight, but in Challenge & Mission Ideas, but oh well...

Also, using a location that is a play with words (with Uranus) breaks the rule 2.2?
-
I was reading the rules again and I just realised, what's the point of a permanent ban? I mean, the person only needs to create a new account with a new e-mail doesn't it? Related to that, what happens to the banned account posts, they are automatically removed? Thanks!

Well, taking olnly from what you've said, expecting to see something when our current model says there's nothing to be seen is to expect to change the current model. But change it to what? There can be some choices that are more viable than others or other proposed models than can prove to be true or even something totally new, but that's just expeculation and at this point you can say whatever you want. You can even say you'll see (forbidden topic).

Does anyone plays it? I started playing a year ago but I don't play as frequent as I want to (shortage os players and time) so I don't get to practice much. I'm starint this thread to with intend to gather around players to talk about the game, discuss strategies and play online (if possible, I know about a softwares but I don't know about legality or praticality of it). I play as Rebel Alliance/Resistance and my current collection goes as far as wave 5 and Rebel Transport. My two latest aquisitions were the HWK-290 and the Z-95 Headhunter. I like the HWK but I don't know if I would be able to adapt my playstile to it and use it at it's best. Any suggestions?

@sal_vager and moderation team. The posting rules and other threads on this reagard shouldn't also be temporarily recreated? I mean, the longer it takes for the old one to return, the bigger are the chances of someone breaking a rule. (new modders [posting rules] or new users [update requests]). If this is already been done, sorry for the annoyance.

Nice! Very nice indeed

@severedsolo Cool! Thanks for the replies! Added to my list, will download when I get home! Thanks for sharing your mods! Always great stuff!
-
@severedsolo If I understand rigth, the mod will identify the existence of debris (given the condtion on OP) and simulates a colision by exploding random part of your vessel, is that rigth? If so, the amount of debris matter? The more, more chances of explosion. And their orbit as well as the ships orbit count? More debris in LKO with 0° inclination means more explosions near this orbit a lower in higher or more inclined orbits?

@Snark or any other moderator. Since it's possible to merge threads, wouldn't be simplier just to create new ones, temporarily, then merge them together?
-
Yeah that's true But his way was not that simple though
-
@steve_v Well, I don't have access I was talking to a friend that worked on the IT department and he said that he knows a way arround the system, but THAT would put me in trouble and probably would be spotted soon. Also a potential risk for him. So I will just let things be the way they should be and keep trying a "formal" permission. Thanks folks!

You can use this mod from @ev0 to hide the empty nodes

SS-520-4 launch Jan 14th; smallest orbital rocket ever
VaPaL replied to Kryten's topic in Science & Spaceflight
http://spaceflight101.com/ss-520-4-smallest-orbital-rocket-set-for-launch/ A little bit more info about the rocket and the sat. Also a brief comment of possible market. -
@Red Iron Crown Nothing specific yet, but occured to me starting a poll on some subject like Star Wars x Star Trek, Marvel x DC, SpaceX x Blue Origin... you got the idea. Just to know what people here prefere, just out of curiosity. Anyway... I don't know if would be the case here, but theses topics sometime get out of hand. So I would start a poll and have it locked, this way I would know the results without any negativeness that might come in the comments. But it was just something that crossed my mind, I probably won't do this
-
If a poll thread is locked, is it still possible to vote on the poll?
-
@steve_v Thanks! I will have a look, I probably won't have access, but who knows!

@LordFerret I know, but sometimes I have to browse the web for work related reasons, i.e. troubleshooting, and I work with FEA, some simulations take days to run, in the meantime I do other work related stuff (reports, research, etc) and this also involves browsing the web, and sometimes there also anything to do while I wait. The restrictions get in the way of all of that. Except posting here, which awesome! I have a good mobile internet plan, but somethings are a pain to access via mobile and I feel I should be able to access work related sites on my work desktop, not spend my money on a bigger mobile plan. @Shpaget Done that, problem is that I need a signed permission from my boss and he is most of the time traveling. Even when he is there, he is the leader of this group and also has his 'normal' functions, so he has a lot to do. He normally let this kinds of things for later and forgets about them. @p1t1o Yep, that's true. Well, that company was sold in the end of December, lets see if the new owners things differently, I can only hope. Good luck for you too, that must be a real pain... ____ Thank you all for the help
-
@Harry Rhodan Tried that already, my supervisor and everyone I respond to is ok with it, but they need to request the IT to unlocked it, and they keep 'forgeting' it. I guy that I work with need to use Skype for some meetings and for some international calls, as you can imagine Skype is blocked, and it has passed more than a year that he's witing for someone to request it to be unlocked. It's directly afecting he's work in a negative way. So I don't see much hope for my request. It's hard explain my position in the company, but I'm kind of safe in this regard. I work in a group inside the company that's almost a second company, we work in a different activity to the company business, so I don't report to any department of the company, only directly to my 'boss' and, as I said, he is totally fine with me doing this. EDIT: But I appreciate your concerns! Thanks! EDIT 2: And basically everyone is against this policy, except the guy in charge for the IT department.

@kerbiloid I only have Firefox, Chrome and IE. Firefox Private doesn't change anything as well as Chrome Incognito. I don't know what Chrome Turbo mode is though

SS-520-4 launch Jan 14th; smallest orbital rocket ever
VaPaL replied to Kryten's topic in Science & Spaceflight
@Rosco P. Coltrane There a forum member, don't remember who and didn't find the post, that's opening a company to enter this market, I suppouse he made a research on this. Anyone remembers who? EDIT: found it!! @Tristonwilson12 -
@LordFerret Every I/O is locked, can't use USB port neither disc drive. I consider myself lucky that I can access KSP forum, CFD-online forum (that i have to access for work (troubleshooting)) is blocked. But that would be a another great idea, thanks!
