  1. What's the issue? So far i've seen the "evade forever", or the "climbing skywards forever" issues, which can go on for a long time and is a bore to watch with the fighters just out of range of each other, or the "planes goes off in different direktions and finally unloads (killed)", or the defender AI, deciding to hang out just infront of the agressor AI, but the last one usually ends pretty fast. I've discovered that many things are actually not contributed to the planes as such but to the AI getting stuck in a behaviour.
  2. <off topic> My thoughts on jets, given earlier discussions, is to restrict the static TWR to 1 or maybe up to 1.2 (fully loaded), to get an even starting field. This omits the need to restrict the amount of fuel and and have weightrestrictions. This, and a pretty restrictive use of cannons and missiles (in testing i used one 20 or 30 mm cannon and 8 missiles/fighter) and one flare and chaff/engine + ecm (to counter the AAMRAM) actually made for a pretty even fight. (and the ecm must have batteries to function correctly for any length of time, which equals more weight) I'm still testing, but hopefully i'll post a challenge within a couple of weeks (given no big update in functionality of KSP). </off topic>
  3. No fights for a time so i did some jet-fighter testing again Still working out some kinks but it's getting to where a challenge might be both possible and pretty even.
  4. That was a somewhat disappointed outcome for the Imp, but a really nice fight . I like the fact the one of the CompetitionCrafts drew all the fire and the other soared high to dive down on the unsuspecting Imps... I got one down at least.
  5. That was 2 great dogfights I really like the last one, though i thought the AI of TAI were a bit lenient just hanging around on the J45's tail, not doing anything in the 2nd round... And really nice fighters, too.
  6. It could be the FAR bug they're talking about a couple of post up. Makes the plane heavier.
  7. Yes, the turnrate is rather insane even more so then i imagined it to be, actually. The thing with your flying wing were lack of yaw-stability. I guess that with a small wing or other controlsurfaces aiding in yaw-control it would have been a bit more stable. It was a nice fight.
  8. My initial reaction would be 25.4 pts, as it is 2 guns in one package.
  9. Since it was my craft the started the whole debate, i have to clarify that it has a name, not just random numbers... it's called GG-C132 "the Imp" due to its small and evil winged nature... GG is from my nick (GridGhost), C from conventional (nothing unconventional, pullengine, normal wings and so on) and the numbers comes from 1 engine, 3 cannons, and 2 wings
  10. If you've updated your game to 1.1, you have to wait until the mods are compatible and redownload them.
  11. This is an excellent idea. It would help in making even better planes in the future iterations of BAD-T
  12. Check the different topics around here, there are a lot of dogfighting going on. Air Superiority Challenge for example And WW2 BAD-T 2 - BDA AI Dogfight Tournament is another.
  13. I don't mind if the GUI stay, it makes it easier to see the planes and if you hide the navball, it's not interfering with the view at all.
  14. Just a little clarification GG C-132 "The Imp" is my plane, not Doke's
  15. I stand corrected thank you for clearing this up, i jumbled the terminology.
  16. I checked on some stats for the F-22 and the F-35 and the SFC of the Panther actually have realistic SFC, although most of the fighters in KSP tends to weigh (a lot) less then half of a real jet. F-22 when kitted and fueled weighs in at about 30 tonnes (2 x 160 kN engines), and the F-35 weights about 22.5 tonnes (1 x 190 kN engine), the F-16 (a small plane in comparison) weighs 12 tonnes on a 120 kN engine. The weight of my heavy fighter w. 8 missiles, a cannon and about 600 units of fuel is 12 tonnes, and sports two panthers on 60% thrust (204 kN) and this is without any use of KJR. So while the engine is somewhat realistic the weight of the parts are not.
