As I've said, i'm holding this challenge back atleast until we have 1.1 and updated versions of FAR, Dynamic Controls and BD Armory. But i'm pretty sure there will be funding restrictions, range requirements and payload points restriction. -

Ya, I know. That's why I probably will up the minimum speed to at least 450, but it's up to testing to see if its good or not. The thing is to make a fun and intresting challenge, and at the same time make videos that are fun to watch. 2 or 4 planes that are kilometers apart slinging missiles is not that fun, imo. -

And with a speed limit of 399 m/s (Mach 1.17) which is what we had in the former challenge, you probably have you highest maneuverability at 160 - 200 m/s which mostly means boom. But that's a consideration for later. Now i eagerly await the outcome of this challenge. -

I said i'm looking into making a similar challenge but with jets (though i didn't say WW2, just jets) but think i'll hold that thought 'til 1.1 and updated versions of, at least, FAR and BD armory is released. And "properly" designed fighters without AMRAAMs actually dogfights pretty good with AMRAAMs though, you get one pass, maybe two, and boom... -

Somewhat off-topic but it's planes and fighting . I tested the limits to see what 4 50-60 part planes would do to the framecount to see if i could host a similiar jet-fighter contest... And i think it would have to be 1 vs 1. -

I tested this yesterday (guns only), and given the AI setup I used on the jet, it either killed the prop rather fast or shot to the sky in a never ending climb. I would guess he is using B9 Aerospace Procedural Wings and Procedural Parts to make his planes. -

The real massively multiplaned box... The idea of a darwin fighter seems intresting and the orange plane, creative and cool. I'm actually doing something like the darwin fighter, making a lot of potential designs w basic control and AI setup, fights them in 1 vs 1 and keeps the ones that shows promise and then tweak the hell out of them I think i have 6 different designs at the moment... (more if you count heavy and light versions) -

I have to test the new AI, then Both for this and other designs. I've been stuck at trying to make turn-fighters with ability to B&Z, but all they do is getting into tighter and tighter circles... and boom. -

I do the same, and If you choose to record with micorphone and choose to have it always on, you get pretty good sound too. -

@tetryds I fixed the problem, as it seem, and don't get the spam anymore. The problem where an old version of Firespitter sitting around in my GameData folder (that i didn't know i had). Now i'm back to getting stellar FPS with props too :D. And yes... my 2 light fighters are glass cannons. One hit and they are gone. But when they hit, they hit hard (but it's damn hard to chose which one to submit) -

I used the M-131 x 5 in a star-configuration to get the plane up to 100 pts (light fighter). I got a delicate problem though. First I made a smallish, pull-engine, plane with good manueverability. Then i found the SAAB j-21A and made a (lighter) tribute to it. Now I can't decide which plane to enter... And I've noticed that the Firespitter module spams exceptions like crazy. I noticed it first when loading two planes to fight and the FPS plummeted from a steady 40-50 when testing 2 highish part jets in AI-combat to around 15 when testing low part Prop-fighters. -
