I think I can get less than 50,000. How about less than 16?

I traveled to Eeloo's surface and back using 1 fuel tank
JacobJHC replied to JacobJHC's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
It would although in my testing I had to use 2 engines since the craft, if fueled to a certain point, cannot use a single engine to land. I didn't know how much fuel I would have when I got there and I didn't want to risk it. -

I did not consider that, ditching one of the nervs would boost the craft's range by quite a bit. Although I am not sure if the reaction wheel would be powerful enough to counteract the offset thrust. I might look into that real quick. -

First off I am glad you liked the video. 1. For the wings I just spammed them until I could get the center of lift where I wanted it, that's why they were shaped weird. At least it looked cool. Yes I did use autostrut, it is my best friend. I probably didn't need it and normal struts would have done the job but it has become habit since my large ships need autostrut so that they can be firm and not kill frame-rate. 2. My launch window was so that I would have an orbit that would get a Jool encounter one of the nodes for Eeloo's orbit so I could almost match Eeloo's orbit using Jool. 3. Thanks. I knew I was tight on fuel to begin with so I tried to find the lightest way in terms of mass to right the craft. I originally tried airbrakes but those kept poofing away and I would crash the craft instead of liftoff. I then remembered how the large landing legs would flip when they open and I though "hey if these things flip maybe I can have one flip me into the air". 4. Pretty good I think. Thanks for asking. -

Don't worry about it. Currently I am attempting another challenge involving Eeloo and I made sure the ship had similar delta-v levels to prove that the mission can work. Thanks. -

The suits come form this link. I don't know why the visors aren't working but I didn't want them too anyway. The download should have texture replacer in it but it may be outdated. -

In the video the craft has a maximum capasity for 6,480 units of liquid fuel, the exact amount for that fuel tank. There are no fuel tanks inside of that fuel tank. -

How much fuel did you spend getting into orbit? Which engines did you use? Did you remove the oxidizer? -

JacobJHC replied to JacobJHC's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
With gravity assists it is enough. If I launch from LKO directly to Eeloo without a plane change the capture burn would be giant as I would need to match Eeloo's orbit and conduct a plane change at the same time. By using Jool twice I barely burned any fuel changing planes. -

With oxidizer I do not have the delta-v, BUT nuclear engines do not use oxidizer. So if I remove the unneeded 40 tons of oxidizer I now have the delta-v required. Yes it is, if you don't believe me still download the craft and fly it the same profile into orbit I did. Also, using gravity assists you only need around 6.5 kilometers per second of delta-v to pull off the mission. Craft file: https://kerbalx.com/JacobJHC/Orange-Efficiency-II That is a lot of saved velocity. Even if I was short on fuel I could have conducted an aerocapture saving me an extra 800ish meters per second of delta-v. -

Except for the 2 Jool gravity assists to save fuel on a plane change and the 1 Kerbin assist to slow down my orbit and save fuel. Did you even watch the video? Tylo being closer doesn't mean it takes less fuel Going to Tylo's surface from a low orbit would require around 5000 meters per second of delta-v to land and return to orbit, but probably more. For my Eeloo landing I only had to burn off around 1300 because the gravity is lower. This video is legitimate. -

Dress? Like this one? -
For the longest time I wanted my first Dres return mission to be done by SSTO, well, that finally happened, May I present: The Deep Space SSTO: Dres Configuration.
-
I have already submitted 3 and have 2 more that are ready for your judgement. My new Dres SSTO. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Ay_yc81mZ4 My SSTO to the Outer Planets (The SSTO is stock but the planets it visited aren't I am unsure if this still qualifies or if it's a gatecrasher so I am going to submit it anyway). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L4KTIByQ-3A&t=1s

nothing except Planetshine and the watereye extension for Cerillion.

@The White Guardian Good news, Cerillion has rings again, there's just umm something odd about them.. (I reinstalled Cerillion and Kopernicus)
-
I messed up Cerillion's rings are gone what do I do. Also: Cerillion's about to get the special treatment...

Personally I would like to see more female Kerbals in the loading screen, currently all of them look like a copy and paste. I'm not saying it's lazy but when they added female Kerbals I was expecting female builders, female whateveryoucallthems in the building where you get the offers. Stuff like that. I would also like to see a picture of Jeb and Vall running from the Kraken on Bop as it is chasing them.

For a new DLC I would love to see some near future stuff, possibly based off of 2001: A Space Odyssey and it's sequels. (I would love to do a Joolian aerobrake with the Leonov
