  1. Due to a apparent bug in the game, Tedbus Linbelle, and their plane have vanished. Without a trace. But I will continue with the drive anyway.
  2. The rescue mission. To keep things simple, this will not be a fan-fiction style adventure, I am just documenting my journey as I drive around Kerbin to rescue two stranded pilots. A little backstory, Tedbur and Linbelle Kermin were attempting a long distance flight as far as I could manage before I had to turn back. Their plane was originally intended a VTOL craft that used Panther turbojets as the main engines in the back, those proved to not have enough power so I switched them out for a pair of Whiplashes. But I forgot to switch my subsonic intakes for Ram air intakes. I didn't realize this until I was already far away from the KSC and accelerating quickly. Engine 1 flamed out because it was not receiving enough intake air and I had to continue on 1 engine. This limited me to staying below 12 thousand meters or I couldn't sustain supersonic flight on my 1 engine. As you may know, if your at lower altitudes your engines are much less efficient and burn through fuel more quickly, so ran out of fuel much sooner than I expected. They were flying a modified version of this plane, fitted with Whiplashes. I made my descent and decided to do a VTOL landing right on top of the KSC 2 (I kinda had no other option) and I thought I could make something fun out of it! I have wanted to take on the Elcano challenge for a while and I thought this could be a great opportunity to do a real field test of my latest and greatest self sustaining rover, The Chariot. This model is outfitted with a special science package(and since I use remote tech) it is designed for use on Kerbin. I went overboard on the antenna but its nothing special, I would have to modify it further for use on other planets or moon. The suspension is also optimized for a high gravity environment, trust me it makes a difference. So in this topic I am going to document the several thousand kilometer trip from the KSC to the crash sight by land. As this rover cannot swim, I have to go the long way all the way up to the north pole and back down to avoid the water and back again. This might be updated daily, or weekly depending on how motivated or how much driving I do for the day. Stay tuned and enjoy!

  4. I was really disappointed about the update too. I had a couple probes in-route to Neidon and now they are just kind floating out there. Another thing, You should add some visual mods to the series like EVE or KSPRC when they get updated. Giving the whole solar system a super cool effect. NOTE: Its the little details from this pack that make the biggest difference, like the lighter colored water around the continents on Kerbin on Laythe, indicating reefs or shallows.

  7. On the topic of pyramids.... I was doing some deep searching though the directory created by a undisclosed, but extremely popular, mod that allows you to see details on all bodies and what is generated them every time you load the game. I.E. ANOMALIES. I'm talking every official Easter egg can be found here as it is generated on the surface. I was digging through Duna's file and finding the only known Easter egg to my knowledge. The face. I'm pretty sure the SSTV hill was removed and I know for a fact that the rover camera was removed. It always puzzled me why Squad ever REMOVES Easter eggs. Anyway, I found this....... I might be mistaken, that this is in fact the SSTV hill. But it also says something about cities, so I don't know man. I blurred out the parts saying the name of the mod I'm using for this. IF you know which mod it is, please don't post it. Also, apparently Kerbin has a barycenter with something...BUT WHAT?!?!?! Keep in mind, these readouts are the program textualising(I don't know if that's a word) all the stuff going on while KSP is loading a save and planets are being generated.
  8. Sadly...no. Well not to my knowledge. I also had important mods that broke with the update but unless you were disconnected from the internet when the update was released, everyone should be on 1.1.3. You probably edited your save file while rummaging around in your KSP directory. But it shouldn't matter anyway, the completed contracts don't do anything.
  9. I think that the magic boulder should be a singular object, but have it re-mastered.(texture wise) It should also be in a mysterious highly elliptical and highly inclined orbit around Kerbol. Maybe out to somewhere bewteen Jool and Eeloo, but down to lower than Moho. So it could be a in-game analog to the controversial Planet 9. Maybe you would have to go on a treasure hunt through the solar system, picking up clues on its orbit. The clues could be the inclination, apoapse and periapse, and its relative location along that orbit. So you could plan a encounter. When you finally reach the boulder it could unlock wardrive or something similar as a reward for completeling the game's most daunting task.

  12. The only real reason to visit Dres right now is the canyon. So it would make sense if they put the boulder there.
  13. Uhhhg. Whenever I try to solve problems with my engines it just leads to more, bigger problems.
  14. @Azimech I had a engine failure but this part of my prop went spinning off at 60 rad/s without any problems with my physics. I don't know what this means for turboprops in the future but it seems like 50 rad/s isn't the limit.
  15. I did some testing of this the Skipper Corsair and the engine did 45 rad/s and was extremely stable. 46 and it blew up. Very promising design. Not super fast but definitely promising.
  16. @sdj64I was trying to make a engine in the MK2 cargo bay and only got around 25 RAD/s. Then I started getting serious kraken attacks. What's the secret?
  17. Azimech and I have been experimenting with engines that spin at 43 RAD/s or higher and have so far encountered no major bugs or instability at those speeds.

  19. When making geared vehicles, finding the right mesh is essential. If the teeth are to close to each other they grind and lose power. Wheras if they are to far apart they can skip or shred. Ive got some real gears for yall in a minute.... I PRESENT TO YOU ALL THE WORLDS FIRST 4 WHEEL DRIVE STOCK TURBOSHAFT CAR POWERED BY A SINGLE GEARED TURBOSHAFT ENGINE It is also TECHNICALLY the fastest in the world of its kind.   20. how can I remedy the vibration issues? it seems like whenever I build engines the hit boxes on the wheels are very strange and buggy. Also, what did you just do?
