well, I havnt checked in a while. But i'm 90% positive that in the description of the part it actually states that it cools the air going into your engine. Also, from my experience, engines without pre-coolers actually don't overheat as easily as engines without them. Its actually on my other computer right now so I'd have to port it over via flash drive. As it is not connected to the internet. It is impossible to make a completely stock aircraft reach Mach 10. However I reached Mach 5.815 in my "Aurora" plane. Aircraft can go faster in a unsustainable attitude or phugoid motion.

I guess I win my own challenge then lol? I actually have several radiators on the plane and heat is not the issue. I found that RAPIERS actually produce the best thrust at those speeds at between 20,500 meters and 21,000 meters. The only way to increase speed at this point is to try to reduce drag further or reduce weight, as the engines are topped out and not overheating. I also designed my plane for looks and it is still ridiculously fast. I suggest using FAR to make your planes faster, It doesn't violate any rules of the challenge.

So, a simple way to reduce the heating is to just make the fuselage out of engine pre-coolers. As they cool the engine and have fuel in them. My aircraft's engine nacelle in the bottom is made entirely of many pre-coolers and 20 rapiers. The plane weighs 111 tons on takeoff so it needed the extra punch of all those engines.

I modified my Aurora aircraft and she does Mach 5.815 with no cheats and no edited config files. A note to everyone doing this challenge, FAR actually makes it easier to achieve extremely high speed. FAR replaces the stock part based drag system with a dynamic one, meaning aircraft that are shaped like a triangle will have inherently lower drag than the same craft in the stock aero. Achieving a higher speed.

I told you both several posts ago I changed the rules. Stop arguing your point. You've obviously(to my dismay) won. Well, the challenge is to make a aircraft faster than your competitor's. So if your sure you can make something that fast than do it and post it here! Ok, I may have overreacted a bit. But there is no need for someone to post such aggressive comments on a forum topic. I changed the rules to please you.

Only one person was complaining and he never gave me any suggestions. That was no where near constructive criticism. It was just unnecessary insults being thrown around about my content. "challenge that could be interesting if the rules were well thought out (which by the way yours are not)." Quote from the one guy who seems to not like me for no reason. Every thing else is either questions about rules or comments about related topics. How is that an average response? He could have got the same point across in a much simpler and friendlier fashion. Such as a simple, "Maybe this shouldn't be point based." Like that other guy did. The definition of constructive criticism is a comment having both positive and negative aspects. None of his posts had either. Either way I changed the rules a lot so I can hopefully fit the image that is apparently mandatory to all challenge topics. I called him Batman because he seems to be going through topics feeling good about insulting other people work bringing "justice to the forum." If I receive any more comments about this I will just have the topic taken down because you clearly hate for no reason, even after I made adjustments. Wow Mach 5.6! That's really impressive!

Speeds exceeding Mach 4.5 are very hard to achieve. Given there is in fact a limit, reaching it while balancing you altitude, temperature, and speed is a challenge in of itself. See, that part of the challenge!

What's your problem man I changed the point system Jesus Christ chill its just a game. This whole game is pastime not a career. You need to relax. As long as the aircraft your doing the speed run in follows the rules above, anything goes!

Ya I love making tiny bi planes and aircraft with custom cockpits. It's a challenge to make them maneuverable and fly well, but its a fun one at that.

How is that off putting? The person with the best aircraft in both performance and looks wins. How are the rules "Not well thought out?" They state the basic parameters that your aircraft must fall under. I honestly don't understand how you could be so offended by some guy's simple speed challenge. Like I said, if your really that mad just don't do the challenge, jees. Either way I changed some stuff so it sounds less like what your saying. I hope that helped.
