I have just come back from kwikfit, I had a slow puncture in a tyre. I have been moved to a different area in work and have to drive across the docks and I have been warned that I will pick up punctures there and sure enough, I had one today. Luckily it was a £25 fix and not a new tyre this time. I was talking to one of the mechanics there and he was saying he is moving away in a few months, has a new job. I asked where, anywhere nice? San Antonio, Texas. Aparently he went on a trip to NY and while there he met someone and they became an item and are getting married next year. He is a normal UK mechanic here in Wales, works in kwikfit about 50yo, she has just sold her $5million aparement in Manhatten so they can move to Texas.... aparently offered to buy him a Mustang V8 as a gift. Such an awesome story I really wish them well. He already has a job over there, people don't seem to like working on european cars and he has experience of working on them so he found a job easily and was saying he will be getting paid 10 times as much as here. Awesome things and life changes can happen.

A few scifi designs for a short story I was writing but abandoned.... For a while now I have been considering starting a design related thread here on the Kerbal Forums. But rather than our own designs the idea I had is if we could colaboratively design or redesign a thing for real world use. When it comes to anything, cars, aircraft, space rockets everyone seems to have an opinion but not everyone gets their opinions and design ideas validated or constructively criticised. Most people think a thing (electric car or aicraft for example) should have something or shouldnt have a something. I was wondering if it is possible that together we could actually come up with a design that is better than what companies can come up with. Maybe the lack of commercial interest would allow us to do that or, on the other hand, we prove to ourselves why we are sat at home and not in some company actualy designing something useful. I have tried this a little on other social networks in the past but haven't had a great response.

In a few other threads we have talked about the disposal of aircraft carriers and I think it is appropriate sharing this here in it's own thread. http://hmshermes.co.uk/crowdfunding/ The plan is to have an Intrepid like museum in London. To get those across the other side of the water on-board here is a USN F-4 on Hermes in 1963: And an S-2 in 1962: Intrepid has a Scimitar that would have operated from Hermes at one time but they have loaned it to another museum.

I went to my grandfathers funeral this morning. Difficult because only my parents and grandmother really speak to me, i am an outcast. In other news I decided on the weekend, rather than putting business cards onto the notice board at Costa Coffee I would put some free sample cards in packs in to the leaflet tray thing. I went there this morning and all the cards have gone and the staff said they did't take anything down. So hopefully the cards have been put to good use. The reason I did this was because I have found my business cards ripped up and thrown in bins in work, I am a cleaner. And with business cards and fliers people put them in wallets, bags, drawers and forget about them. An actual card is something that can be used. All my cards come with a business card and my etsy url on them so maybe it can get more interest in my cards and illustration work. Obscurity is an issue I feel. I will make more cards to go into the tray I think, or suggest Costa use them for their charity. It also means I cannot claim that my cards "cannot be given away". I am sat here in amazement, or shock, Work have sent me a holiday request form to fill out by email. I have been emailing in my timesheets for some time. But this time they want me to email them a holday form..... but what they have sent me is a document file, docx..... that contains a screenshot of adobe reader with the holiday form pdf open in it..... why not just send me the pdf? Or even the screenshot as a picture, not a document file. utter imbeciles. Why do I work for them?

I was having problems when I was playing Kerbal career with funds. I had this idea to re-texture a part as a billboard and use it some way to get funds in the game. I think someone pointed out that the only way to do it would be to assiociate the part with a contract. I originally envisioned having a billboard on board to generate funds over time. I havent looked at this in a while, I would like to get it working and release it if possible. I have no 3D model making skills but have made numerous retextures for flight unlimited 3 and flight simulator (2002 and 2004) in the past and more recently Company of Heroes 2: http://steamcommunity.com/id/kokoro/myworkshopfiles/?appid=231430 So this is as far as I got with Kerbal in January 2016. In the folder in Gamedata I have a cfg, a dds texture and the solar panel .mu file. Sorry if my questions sound stupid, but I have looked and I don't know where to find the answers. First, does model.mu need to be in there or is there a way to associate the cfg with the existing solar panel model in the game, so that the model.mu doesnt have to be bundled? In order to get multiple billboards would subfolders with different cfgs and texture files be needed or what other ways are there?
