Space Shuttle Pack for ksp 1.0.4 dev thread
sciencepanda replied to Mike-NZ's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
I'm having problems with the crawler as far as control... if I put all the tracks on straight, the support stick out on the right side and it looks weird, but I can drive straight, but I can turn. On the other hand, if i reverse the tracks on the right side so it looks right, then the controls get weird: forward causes it to drive forward slowly and turn one direction, and if i reverse then it turns the other way and still moves forward... -
Yes Zarya retracted it's solar arrays (partially), but Zvesda's arrays are deployed to this day.

Would you be able to do the alternate textures like on the shuttle? I know there are two versions of the X-37, Air Force and NASA, but I believe the only difference is appearance and paint scheme. -

How about the x-37 when you get a chance? The last X-37 mod kinda lost steam before release, would be really nice to have an X-37b orbiting Kerbin for years at a time.... -

There go all hopes of getting homework done tonight.... -

Mike, with the new pad with the crawler, are you going to update the gantry download to include just the tower itself... Kinda weird having a launch pad on top of a crawler on top of another launch pad if you know what I mean.... -
nither canadarm2, jem, nor jeasts arm can grab parts... i did test the kas magnet part itself though, that works....

X-15?!!!! Please excuse me while I jump up and down with excitement... -
It's noon here, so I've got plenty of time to check it later...
-
That would be my guess... If you want I can try it when I get home from work and let you know if it works...
-
Any idea what the problem with the arm magnets might be... If you think it might be a cfg problem I could try to fix it... Although I will admit I would have no clue what I'm doing... But I could give it a try.
-
Yes, I have both KAS and KIS installed, and I do have the option to toggle the magnet. It just has no effect.
-
I tested the robotic arms for station. The arms themselves work fine, but the magnets on JEM and RMS(Canadarm2) don't work. I haven't tested the shuttle arm yet though.

Space Shuttle Pack for ksp 1.0.4 dev thread

I actually think it would be cool if the grapple fixture acted like a docking port which Canadarm could attatch too... That's basically how it works IRL... I think it would add a sense of realism... Also I think it would be cool if it was on both ends of Canadarm2.... Again, that's how it is IRL. -
i just need to correct one thing... sorry, I'm kinda obsessed with the ISS.... anyway, there are in fact docking ports between Destiny and Node 1 (Unity).... well, they're berthing ports, but in KSP terms they are docking ports, they essentially do the same thing.... anyway, back to the point, there are in fact docking ports between those two modules...
-
Good news: The universe no longer implodes, and I can successfully dock with station.... yay!
-
I know, I used the stock medium radiators instead. they look exactly the same... Or at least close enough
-
I'll try that right now - - - Updated - - - tried it, couldn't dock. I'll try it again without the solar arrays. I'll keep p6, ill just take off the solars. - - - Updated - - - tried it without solars, but kept p6. docked just fine. The solars are the only thing that changed... to be clear, I'm talking about the ISS Truss S3/SP Sail solar arrays - - - Updated - - - I've been testing all this in RSS, so I'm going to jump over to stock and test it again to see if it's any different. - - - Updated - - - tried the same test in stock: without Solar Sail I can dock, with it I can't. Simple as that.
-
I just finished more testing, it appears the problem is the solar arrays themselves. I launched ISS with everything but the solar arrays themselves, and i could dock with no problem. then i built a tiny little probe, docked with it no problem, then relaunched the same probe, this time with the solar array, and i couldn't dock to it. The problem is the ISS Solar Arrays - - - Updated - - - I found something else. I put the whole station in orbit, then launched my two docking test probes and put them within 200m of station, and i couldnt dock them. Which means one of two things things: the glitch with the solar arrays prevents docking within the 200m sphere, or the lag caused by the solar arrays prevents docking. either way, it seems to be the solar arrays causing the problem.

Okay, I've begun testing individual truss components.... So far I can confirm the problem is not S0
-
Again it appears the bug is caused by a part in the truss. I will try to narrow it down to a specific part, but the testing will have to wait a bit. - - - Updated - - - I would like to see the bigelow module as well as the IDA
-
Probably a difference in the config file - - - Updated - - - It appears the mir-port docking bug is still present. With the full station in orbit, I cant dock to the aft of zvesda, but when i launch a station without the truss segments, i can dock to the aft of zvesda without a problem.
