War Thunder - Screenshots and Discussion thread!

T-50 is a very nice tank, sadly it's gun is a bit underwhelming, but it's armour is great. Poor Japanese tanks will have a hard time getting through it's armour. Also, once you fully upgrade it's engine, it's really fast too. -

I'm rubbish at tanks. Germans at low tiers are nasty to fight, good mobility, great guns, and armour that can cause problems for weaker guns (especially StuG armour). And so, I usually find myself flying British planes, and I'm now researching the Meteor F. Mk 3 Oh, almost forgot! Naval development looks to be going great now, destroyers are apparently working well, and it looks as if Gaijin will continue to increase the sizes of vessels that we'll be getting! On top of this, World War mode is soon to start testing, so overall, some exciting months to come in WT! -

AB = Arcade Battles. RB = Realistic Battles. SB = Simulator Battles. Air arcade is a good place to start. Also, after playing War Thunder and getting used to mouse aim, going back to KSP to fly planes makes you notice that keyboard keys aren't the best for controlling aircraft. What nation is your favourite so far? -

I use mouse aim. For AB and RB, using a joystick puts you at a real disadvantage, but in SB, joysticks are King. What mode are you playing? Mouse aim can take a bit of getting used to at first. -

Those are your stats? Also, until the start of my summer break, I'll only really be playing at weekends, so when my break starts, I'll be much more available. -

I really only play aircraft, so I don't have many tanks for my attackers to pair up with. Currently I'm getting Soviet and British tanks, but it's taking a while. Right now for the Soviets, I'm using the IL-2 1941, and with the Brits I'm using the upgraded Firefly. -
One like added to the bunch.

With saturn, I love how you've used the angles in the lines to create a spherical sense, and how the ring shadows show up on the cloud tops. Also, I just spotted Eris, and what makes that really stand out is the softer less harsh colours all blending together on the surface of Eris. It's almost as if it glows. Keep up the amazing work! An idea would be including the Sun in your Solar System art. I'd like to see your take on it.- 894 replies

Yeah, I bet you've got the ground strike capability of the P-47 worked out. That thing's a monster. With the Brits, if you unlock the 2.0 BR Hurricane mk IV, it has some pretty good destructive capabilities. Japanese, I'm not too sure if they have any decent attackers. Germans, the Ju-87 Stukas are quite good for bombs, and are at low tier. Soviets, the IL-2 like you said. When using the IL-2s rockets, if you are in RB, aim with one of the wings to make sure at least one rocket hits, rather than aiming in the middle, and both rockets going past the target. -

Fair enough. Also, if I'm having fun in my Cromwell and some guy in is M103 decides to keep killing me without giving me a chance, he'll get a free delivery of 1000lb bombs from Tempest Postal Co. -

I spend quite a lot of in-game time in CBs, actually, I usually end up telling myself I've got better things to do with my WT time, like progressing with the Brits. There's a whole bunch of special CBs that don't have ticket runoff, and last for the full 6hrs. Although some of them are badly governed. Best solution is to go on to WT.Live and wait for people to announce their own CBs opening, usually these WT.Live CBs are much better moderated, and have a password to stop any muppet getting in and bringing their MiG-17, all you need to do is ask for the password, and show up when their CB goes live. -

I haven't had much time to play 1.69 (actually, WT is booting up as I write this), but I did manage to grind smoke grenades on the A13s, and I have to say, they're actually quite useful when you're repairing and you need cover. At this point though, I think people are now beginning to expect more Italians. I've heard of Tier III games filled to the brim with the new G55.S, and as a result the allies are getting destroyed as they haven't had time to learn the weaknesses of the new Italian wonder... I'd recommend it, It's a blast. In the end, you have nothing to lose if you don't like it because it is free to play. I think it will suit most gamers needs with three modes: Arcade, Realistic and Simulator. Each getting more realistic as they go. So yeah, I'd say give it a try! -

That would be the Ba.65 I myself haven't actually got a chance to play the Italians yet, but I'm looking forward to it. -

Well, another update I guess. Anyone here from Italy? Because the Italian aircraft tree is being added. Alongside a buff to AP ammo and 12.7mm rounds, Smoke for hiding your tank, damage-cam for aircraft attacking tanks, new high-tier tanks, and a bunch of really cool new vehicles and planes too! -
I've got some 80s Microcomputers. I'll need to get photos though.

Well, the camera switching to "orbit" mode should come in real handy for anyone trying this.
