First, have you made your rockets aerodynamic? You need to add nose cones on top of EVERYTHING or you will have trouble.

I have found that it is easier to get to orbit with FAR than without it. Some redesign of your rockets might be necessarry. Can you post a screenshot of the rocket that is giving you trouble?

Well, if they decide not to include other star systems, i hope that FTL/interstellar STL could still be an endgame tech for the campaign - make the creation and launch of the first interstellar vessel the final chalenge in the campaign, kinda how it was in the Civilization series... You just send it off and get a congratulatory message.

You can actually get to Duna with extremely little fuel if you time your transfer burn right - just a little more than you need to get to the Mun. This ship made it to Duna with fuel to spare (it started with a full tank from LKO): It could almost make it back to Kerbin - it needed another 300-400 dV....

Or 3. Have stars move in nearly straight lines and more-less random directions relative to Kerbol as the stars near our Sun seem to be moving...

They had to endure 7G's because they had only one shot at reentry - They could have made a more gradual reentry by aerobraking several times, making a full orbit between the aerobraking maneuvers but each orbit would take several hours and the command module did not have enough power and air to sustain the astronauts for more than a few hours so they had to do it in just one attempt.

Actually, I really liked Outpost 2 as well... While it was a relatively average RTS, it had a few features that really appealed to me - the story written as a novella the persistent research tree and the management of colonists are among them.

Well, you need to set up a transfer orbit to another body (the Mun for example) first, because the patched conics do not kick in when you are landed or in a simple orbit. See bsalis's link for the differences.

You can use this mod to change the patched conic mode on the fly. This might help you see the differences.

You wouldn't need a triple-helix DNA to have three sexes. In our own reproduction, the male and female contribute half of the chromosomes, but each of those chromosomes are entirely from one or the other... All that would be necessary is for three sexes to contribute 1/3 of the chromosomes...
