  1. I meant that the record has to be taken below 50km, the plane itself can fly to the moon if you want to. For your info landing is not required either.
  2. MY Entry: The Olympia, capable of 3432 m/S, believe it or not! https://imgur.com/djsYwGS https://imgur.com/U7ebPh1 since there are a few entries already, it is time for the leaderboard.
  3. http:// I have always been a fan of speed. I fly RC aircraft and pylon racing is my favourite genre of the hobby. Last year I did a challenge called 'Beating the record' where the whole point was to make the fastest craft possible in stock KSP, and so I have decided to revive that challenge this year but with a few changes. SO FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT LIKE SPEED, HAVE A GO! In this challenge you will be building super fast hypersonic aircraft that try to go as fast as possible within the altitude limit of 50,000 metres. Rules- -no mods, stock only! -no cheats -craft can't be launched from a mothership meaning no decouplers or docking ports -craft has to be your own design -the record has to be taken within an altitude of 50 km (the record itself, your plane can fly as high as you want it to.) -plane has to fly and be your own design -rockets and SRBS allowed -GOLDEN RULES: HAVE FUN and don't obey the laws of physics HOW TO ENTER: Post a thread with a photo of the craft in it, it's name and it's top speed. You will also require to have a photo taken of the aircraft reaching the speed as proof. I will then update the leaderboard and add your craft to it! LEADERBOARD: - 1: @qzgy 4264m/s -2: @panzerknoef 3581m/s -3: @Jeb-head-mug kerman 3432m/s -4: @AeroGav 3134m/s - 5: @panzerknoef 2929 m/S -6: @Mars-Bound Hokie 2751 m/s - 7: @Mars-Bound Hokie 2216m/s - 8: @panzerknoef 2214 m/s Good luck!
  4. btw I am only able to play on weekends.
  5. This looks very interesting! I have a fighter I've wanted to use for this type of competition and now I can! I will try this on the weekend. Also is there more than 1 entry allowed?
  6. I think I might try with KESA, if that's okay.
  7. Maybe the mod OpenCockpit would work? It is outdated, but it works as I use it myself.
  8. My entry: The Bloodspeeder! I am racing it just now. http://
  9. My entry: the JayAir R-1 America Probably is not going to rank very highly but it looks pretty cool, a bit like a Gee Bee. Time: 7:50 mins It has a top speed of 209 m/s http:// http://
  10. No, that is fine as it is not we different from some of the racers!
  11. All right, that is a good idea using BAD-T props! And in regards to where to fly it, the race is held at Dundard's Edge using Kerbal Konstructs. The Kerbinside mod is needed for this, as it has all the assets. Once it is installed look under the 'other' tab and it should come up:). I don't see why FAR should not be allowed, but doesn't that make things harder? SO yes, I guess you can use BAD-T props and FAR but the DLC parts just don't really fit in.
  12. http:// Hello everyone! For those of you who like fast planes and warbirds in one this challenge is for you! Golden Era Air races is basically the Schneider Air Race and Reno unlimited in one. In this challenge you can design aircraft similar to the ones flown in the 1920-30s Air Races, and then fly them through the course at Dundards Edge to see which one is the fastest. Some examples of planes are the Gee Bee, the Mew Gull, and Hughes H-1. You may use several mods in this challenge, but parts from the DLC's are not allowed. Rules No cheats other than part clipping No turboprops or jet engins The only engines allowed are the props in SXT and Airplane Plus and stock props Each plane can have a maximum of 2 engines No DLC parts craft needs at least one kerbal Plane has to resemble a racer from the 1920's or '30's. It doesn't have to be a replica though! And that is all! The Mods allowed in this challenge are: SXT, Airplane Plus, B9 Procedural Wings, Adjustable Landing Gear, Kerbal Konstructs and Kerbinside (You may also use BAD-T props and FAR if you want to.) How to submit: You may submit any number of entries within the rules before December 1 2019, which is when entries close. To submit, first take a pic of your craft and post it here on the forum. You may include the aircraft name and top speed if you like, and then a photo of the race results as proof. How the Challenge works: You must first fly your craft through the course at Dundards edge and record your results. After you have submitted I will wait until the challenge deadline and then compare all the race results together. The plane with the fastest race time wins the competition! GOOD LUCK! I will post my entry soon!
  13. @Ger_spaceFor some reason the Air Race does not work in ksp 1.7.3! It says no starting line found when I open up the air races tab.
  14. They are green for some reason after all. They must be full of lovely chlorophyll.
  15. No, in fact it has a bit of a tendency to sideslip when on its side. The plane frankly also has no rudder control but tracks straight along the ground so that hasn't been an issue. Also, the sideslip only lasts for the first part o the turn and stops after around 10 degrees. I eliminated the rudder and larger horizontal stabiliser to save weight.(Also for the looks!)
  16. Didn't do much KSP today, just some simple 'housekeeping' (or orbitkeeping)? I finished working on my Scarab rocket, and docked it three times to my Space Station so I could replace the crew who have been in it for more than 10 years already. The rocket is quite small and has too much fuel and can carry 3 kerbals to LKO and back easily. It does for me what the Soyuz does for the ISS, meaning it does the dirty work! Here are some pics of the Scarab: http:// http:// Booster seperation http:// http:// docked with Impirator
