  1. 10/10 I both love and fear dres and I'm part of the kraken awareness society.

I will create a virus that infects all television networks and streaming services with the "Beiber" virus.  That's right, non stop Beiber forever.

  2. I agree with the posts above.  In the VAB you have 3 tabs in the bottom left.  One is the center of lift, one is the center of thrust and the other is the center of mass.  When designing aircraft you want to have the center of lift slightly behind your center of mass.

I would try moving the wings to the engine clusters and removing the last fuel tank.  I would also exchange the control surfaces on the wings for ailerons and add canards instead of a traditional tailplane - this should give you much more control authority.

In the VAB you can also specify what each control surface does.  I usually set ailerons and canards to pitch and roll and tail to yaw only.  This makes the plane control much easier if you are using a keyboard.

Another thing most aircraft have is a slight angle of incidence in the wings.

I'd like to go to Eve with some kerbals but not sure how I'd get them off...

There is the solution to your problem.  I am working on an EVE return mission at the moment and it's the most challenging thing I've done in KSP.

  4. I used it when I first started playing KSP however I don't use it anymore because though I feel it isn't OP, for me it limits my reach in the Kerbol system - When I used the Lab I kept waiting to go interplanetary but felt the need to unlock ever more nodes (for tech that makes it easier) and really, doing missions with less than optimal parts makes me a better player.  Also career is boring for me once the tech tree is finished, It's really just sandbox at that point.

i dont think ive seen a photo of lm's machine with a plasma ball in it yet. so im gonna have to conclude that they haven't even fired a shot with it yet. of course they are being very tight lipped.

The article I read stated they had performed over 100 test shots at very low power (1KW).

  6. If you are going interplanetary you should probably install an information mod (Kerbal engineer redux or mechjeb) that gives you the Delta V and thrust to weight ratio of your craft so you can make sure you can get there and take off again in Duna's atmosphere.  I would send a probe first to scan for ore and add a mining rig to the lander so you can refuel and land on Ike too.

  7. If you can get paid to do something you love then re-numeration is not the highest priority.  KSP opened my mind to space travel in a simplistic way however it inspires me to learn about way more than orbital mechanics and simplified rocket design.  Also the forums are a great place to learn more about the concept and the industry of space flight.
