KSP2 Release Notes

English: It's a copy of the Russian localization file from a GOG version of KSP. It only works if the entire rar file is pasted directly into the KSP main folder because the buildID64.txt tells KSP what language it is. Otherwise it wont work. Not sure of the copywrite issues here considering its taken from a copy of KSP and then posted online. But it is a work around.

Which Platform will be the best one to get KSP2 from?
Anth replied to Anth's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
Yeah its pretty basic in its current form. -
We have Steam, Epic and Direct Download on release day correct? Which gives us the best early access experience? No idea Which will give us the best community experience? Steam? Also once bought steam allows for gifting others. Which makes Private Division/Intercept Games the most money? Direct Download? Also can we just buy product keys? I would like the option of gifting someone on whatever platform without being forced to one.

We are combing over the ones from the steam store page in a discord that I belong to analyzing everything. Very nice. One of the biggest things we are going to have to do on release is to tell Intercept Games what we like because it seems like we as humans love to focus on the negative instead of the positive.

There's a French entry which is already taken care of and the Russian one that is above which I translated and responded to which points back at this post (using google translate). No fix as far as I could find. I do know of a possible fix. Take the language packs from KSP on other platforms like steam/gog/KSP Store but I doubt Private Division would like that option from a legal perspective. I will note that English is my only language. Someone notified me of this issue and my bug hunting persona took over to try to figure it out and so I reported it here and on the KSP bug tracker. Seems like an important issue or I wouldn't have said anything.

Intercept Games, по-видимому, работает над проблемой. Я написал о своем беспокойстве по этому поводу. Ссылка выше - это мое взаимодействие с Intercept Games, но на английском языке (перевод Google)

I uninstalled KSP on my epic app. Changed to Russian on the epic app (at least I think it was). Reinstalled KSP and its still in English. What indicated that other languages might be possible was that the main KSP game is actually sitting inside a folder called "English" Anyone know how to change the language or is it currently impossible?

Developer Insights #16 - Kerbal Community Program
Anth replied to Intercept Games's topic in Dev Diaries
It actually was designed to work best under maximum physwarp (the pink Eve ocean was because of a bug and was fixed in a future version) -

I found the following with KSP1: I got bored of Science Mode/ Career. Eventually I wouldn't be able to keep going and stopped. I loved doing bug reports for KSP1 to the point of even doing spreadsheets and 100s of hours of doing repeated tasks to prove them. I loved engineering complicated crafts in pursuit of some goal. I made a paddle boat, a rocket + pad that landed on the Eve ocean, forklift assembled base with shipping containers and a crane that assembled rocket stages outside of the VAB/SPH. -

Problem is that space debris is much more likely than a whole lot of Kerbals floating around the sun. -

Once upon a time we didnt have tea bags and there would be tea leaves at the bottom of the mug which some people interpreted to mean something more than it should have. A little like the idea of Kerbals interpretting space debris mentioned before -

More like reading tea leaves? -
I am guessing you have a lot of hours in KSP? That's when a lot of bugs start getting obvious. A person playing KSP for a month or two will probably experience less bugs than us veterans because they are making simple crafts.

I fear that some of the quality problems with some of those updates was related to how little money that Squad might have been getting on return. They still need to be making money to produce updates. I hope to see more DLCs from KSP2 than we saw from KSP1 and the new game they are planning will hopefully keep Intercept Games working on KSP2 as well for a long time even if its more of a sideline thing.

I know what you mean. Steam have some game promotions where a person can play a game for a limited time. In the case of Epic games they release free games on a regular basis which the player gets to keep forever. Get KSP1 via Epic between the 6th and 13th and you get it for free forever via the Epic App.

Minecraft is still selling millions of copies per year and they have a subscription system that costs money per month for realms which is a server system of some sort. Private Division/Intercept Games aren't going to make that sort of money off KSP2. Its a completely different situation. The only way we should get continuous updates for KSP2 is if Private Division/Intercept Games keeps making enough money for it to be worth it.
-
Its free from the 6th to the 13th of January according to the Epic App. It is not free until then.

The game that put the fear of god into me recently is The Witcher3 Next Gen update. It has performance issues on my i9 9900K which has a RTX3070ti. Cyberpunk 2077 performs well with all the ray tracing on but The Witcher 3 does not. Also Cyberpunk 2077 is going to have an update to have even better ray tracing to show off the 40 series. I have to ask will my PC be able to play it still at the old settings when it comes out or will this so called improvement actually cause a drop in performance for the same detail I was getting before hand. So people should be concerned about performance issues on upcoming games. I bought the RTX 3070ti in 2022 when the prices dropped to what I considered acceptable levels and yet its already failing me on The Witcher 3. I doubt that KSP2 will be that much of an issue but for other AAA games I am starting to get concerned.

Well that is promising for KSP2. The only times I really noted any memory leak issues with KSP was scene changes like we have talked about and exploding crafts. Have a craft high part count which blows up in a cascading way and the memory will climb. Mods I haven't noticed any problems with but I am pretty conservative on how many I use compared to some people who have a lot of them running at the same time.
