Ok, I had an idea for an engine: It would be embedded in a 2×2m wing panel, with inlet at the front, above and/or below the wing panel, and exhaust at the back, above and or below the wing panel, similar in concept to these: With the new low-speed, high-lift devices, I'm hoping to build a flying wing that can be landed at reasonable speeds. My last build had obscenely high landing speeds. I'll do a sketch of what I'm thinking in a bit.

Thanks. The one aircraft I've always wanted to make, but never been able to (at least in terms of flight characteristics), is the X-31. 70° angle of attack flight!

I like V-tails, twin-tails, and twinbooms, myself. ALSO: But with the tiltrotors instead of ducted fans.

I haven't had much in the way of problems with either of those. Even with thrust vectoring and fbw off, the turning radius on this thing is ridiculous, and it flies like a kitten.

Tried that, but it only works if you're not attaching it to mirrored symmetry parts, which isn't possible on those wings.

True, I actually originally built this as an FAR build, and transonic drag was an issue. I have one other Idea for wings I have to test.

Since we've been talking canards and CoM vs CoL, I wanted to mention this: The CoM is just ahead of the CoL, so that it can be flown FBW on or off. As such, it's quite nimble, though not the fastest bird.

I think you're correct, but I'm not at home right now. They're the 1x2m rectangle, and the outer third is the 1x2m wing panel with an angled bit that @blackheart612 added in one of the releases a bit back. The tail uses those same angled bits for the horizontal stabilizers, and then the little triangles for the vertical stabilizers, so if you straightened them out, it'd make a perfect triangle. The control surfaces are the big trapezoids for the verticals, and the little trapezoids for the horizontals and ailerons. I'm horrible with the names of parts. I just know what they look like and about where to find what I need in each category. If you post screenshots of the parts grid, I'll circle which ones I'm talking about. Alphajet is one of my favorite planes, and was definitely an inspiration. I have this from 1.1.3, but it's broken now. May revive the intake/exhaust concept, though. Was working quickly before WoWS session. Also, use Imgur, and just open image in new tab, then copy+paste URL, and it'll auto-embed.
