The logs aren't giving many clues, just that KSP was able to write that it had crashed and a stack trace which I just can't read anyway, it does say it had no memory though. Error occurred at 2015-08-22_165824. C:\Games\Steam-Temp-Install\steamapps\common\Kerbal Space Program\KSP.exe, run by Administrator. 34% memory in use. 0 MB physical memory [0 MB free]. 0 MB paging file [0 MB free]. 0 MB user address space [2523 MB free]. Write to location 00000000 caused an access violation. Have you tried the KSP.exe directly? Also are you using encryption on your drives? The log says cryptbase.dll is loaded. Raid 0 may be overkill for SSD's, if you have a memory stick spare you could try copying KSP to it and see if that copy runs. Sorry but I can't think of anything else yet, KSP shouldn't be crashing like that.

KSP Graphics issue
sal_vager replied to bjohn13's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
I'm told that this is a graphics driver setting, though I have never seen it in the Linux Nvidia driver. Take a look here, don't forget your cool 80's red/green shades! Edit: It just occurred to me that you're aware of this mode, but want the effect to be correct so your anaglyph glasses work. If this is the case I don't think I can help you, KSP doesn't have any support for anaglyphs. There are controls to correct this but you may be better off just turning it off. -
KSP Graphics issue
sal_vager replied to bjohn13's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
Hi bjohn13, wow, that looks like a stereo image or anaglyph, KSP doesn't have an anaglyph mode, nor does the unity3D engine as far as I can tell, not without using a plugin anyway. Please put your KSP.log, output_log.txt (it's in KSP_Data), dxdiag report and list of running processes on dropbox or a similar file sharing site, and I'll see if I can figure this out. -

Lag issues? .. try shutting down the bloatware on your system
sal_vager replied to DoctorDavinci's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Great way to treat a new member guys /sarcasm. Closing this down. -
Hi AndrewBurns, even if you don't have a crash log KSP still makes a KSP.log in the game folder and an output_log.txt in the KSP_Data folder. Please upload these two files somewhere as well as the output from dxdiag (start, run, type dxdiag, hit enter) Also see here for information on Windows stop errors, the event log will show what is causing this issue so upload that as well.

Need your own thread moved or locked? Post here.

And like magic, it's gone. -
Yes, I know, and I don't know why the drop-down is absent and I cannot edit the style. Edit: Strange, games has "Require Threads to have a Prefix" set to "no"

What is the purpose of the Nuke engine..
sal_vager replied to Wingnutt's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Also it is important to know that it uses liquid fuel only, no oxidiser, so if you use conventional tankage you will have an excess of oxidiser mass that just robs you of performance. Remove the excess oxidiser or use the aviation tanks instead. (Cue calls for LF only rocket tankage and suggestions to use (insert addon here)) -
Hmm, Wingnut are you able to use the regular theme to select the prefix? Scroll all the way to the bottom and click the "full site" link. Also, movenated to Kerbal Network.

Squad uses Amazon ECS for the store release now, so it scales with demand, the last two updates didn't see the chaos of previously. There's also GoG.com, they are working on allowing their own installers to update your games so you don't have to download it in full, and GoG Galaxy will also offer this feature.

Please put your save folder on a file host for us, dropbox is pretty good for this. -
The Linux Thread!
sal_vager replied to sal_vager's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
I really don't know where to begin with running KSP in a virtual machine, or any 3D game for that matter, VM graphics drivers are not good. Hyper-V won't guarantee your GPU can be used, it's just a feature that lets the VM use the hardware more intelligently. As you have other text rendering this issue does not look to be due to lack of a font, Ubuntu includes the arial fonts anyway, and if it was a missing font you wouldn't see a solid box, you'd not see any text at all. It looks more like a rendering problem, the text could be applied to a sprite and being scaled to suit and the scaling is not being performed correctly. Or more likely it's the alpha channel, I don't know about Unity specifically but some game engines will convert imported fonts into sprite sheets and they colour the "blank" area the same as the colour of the font, as this helps prevent scaling artefacts, so if the alpha is broken with font rendering all you'd see is a box. Either way it's the graphics driver, maybe try messing with the driver settings if there are any, also note that Virtualbox says that this feature is experimental. I don't think it's possible to change the driver in a VM, you get what you're given and if it doesn't work all you can do is wait for an update, so all I can really suggest is that you try using a different virtual machine, if you're using the open source version of Virtualbox from the Ubuntu repositories you should try the proprietary version from the Virtualbox website instead as it will have better support for the host GPU. I don't think there's any other VM that offers 3D support and isn't a time limited trial. Maybe consider a dual-boot ? -

You know what, this thread is going nowhere. You want news here, then complain about it when you get it, and all the points being brought up have been brought up before, and answered before, but like the news you don't like, you didn't like the answers you were given. Closing!

Perhaps you guys can stop arguing about news not posted to the forums to check out the news that was posted to the forums while you were arguing about no news being posted here. News on the KSP forums? Preposterous!
