  1. I wouldn't have the foggiest about converting them to watts, sorry, but I think all temperatures in KSP are in kelvin now.
  2. Sounds like a bad install, the path to the ion engine cfg is: Kerbal Space Program/GameData/Squad/Parts/Engine/ionEngine/ionEngine.cfg So you should try re-installing (or verifying your Steam cache).
  3. Moved posts here, they don't really belong in the daily Kerbal.
  4. They don't have the module in the cfg no, that's right, but all the coolers have the module, also the static coolers are useful for panel van fans.
  5. They radiate, and they don't fold... Seriously, they draw heat from hot parts (thanks to that new module) and get hot themselves, radiating that heat to the atmosphere or to space, and unlike the folding panels they are not blown apart by excessive gaseous velocity.
  6. Can you try making sure that your controller is plugged in before you start KSP? Also, rename your current settings.cfg so KSP makes a new one, that will help with the resetting issue.
  7. Hiya, lets try to sort this rather than complain as that helps no one Please upload your game logs, settings.cfg and dxdiag, also our save to dropbox, we'll try to find out what's going on.
  8. Kerbals can also EVA and push with their jetpacks, I've saved a few spaceplanes that way.
  9. Well, you should have enough ablative on the heat shields now to survive a high re-entry periapsis, the blunt shield provides a lot of drag to slow you down, and a low peri just helps keep heating to a minimum, though if you come in too low you can punch through the air, then the ground. It's going to take a bit of getting used to, but even returning from Minmus is survivable, not sure about trying to aerobrake from Eeloo yet though
  10. I think that's come up before, but I forget why, I think the guy was failing to cd to the KSP folder before running the game. Shortcuts really need to cd to the folder, then start KSP.
  11. 1.0.3 changed when aero and re-entry effects activate, you may find that the thermal effects on large vessels are too much for your current hardware or driver, but please upload game logs, dxdiag and settings.cfg
  12. Sounds like the bug that 1.0.4 fixes anyway, and drama is not a prob when it's entertaining
  13. Hi Katawunga, can you try the 1.0.4 update, it should address this exact issue.
  14. This seems better in Support, when you get a chance GarrisonChrisholm, please upload your KSP.log, output_log.txt, (from KSPData), settings.cfg and dxdiag to dropbox for us, we'll see if we can find a way to improve your situation. Moving to Support.
  15. Hi PolybiusNightmare, please see the support stickies and upload your game logs and save files to dropbox
  16. Hi Pjj, can you please see the support stickies and upload your savegame and your logs to dropbox
  17. Hi stratvox, can you check the support stickies and upload your game logs and affected save to dropbox please, I am unable to reproduce this issue here.
  18. Always back up saves, just in case, but please upload your saves to dropbox as I was able to load all my 1.0.2 saves with no issues, I may be able to load yours and fix it.
  19. This seems to be the same garbage collector issue that many Windows users are suffering from, the move to Unity5 should help. (crosses fingers)
  20. Yeah normal chutes will break if opened when near to or more than supersonic, this is a deliberate change and the right click menu will show if it's safe to open a parachute. Droges are designed for high speed use, though it'll pay to check the action menu to avoid opening them too early. None of the parachutes are designed to withstand being on fire for very long though. Also, take Daveroski's advice, it'll help a lot.
  21. Most of the variables for the heating are in the Physics.cfg so try renaming it, that will force KSP to make a new one when next started.
  22. Hi GarrisonChisholm, KSP does slow the simulation to allow the physics to catch up, this can be controlled to a degree with the delta time slider in Settings, though 0.04 or 0.03 is usually fine. This slowdown isn't quite the same as fps though, so to get a better idea of how many fps you are getting you could try the fps.dll from the dev tools. Pop that into GameData and you'll have a counter in the corner of the screen.
  23. 5 Weeks actually, I looked, oh and also.... 1.0.3 is up.
