  1. I'm not sure actually, as I end up spending so much time reproducing stock issues I don't use a lot of addons, and while there's stuff like EVE for improved visuals I don't think it changes the edges of the poles.
  2. As you don't see the memory use go up with every craft loaded, KSP is reusing that memory so it is not a memory leak. There are known issues with the memory allocated to the part overheating effect, specifically the PPFX edge highlight in the flight scene when parts get hot enough, and this is something Squad are looking to address. But the memory use from loading a craft is normal, and there are many other things loaded into memory such as terrain, and things are cached to save time in case you go back to them.
  3. That's strange, but as long as it's working then it's all good
  4. Maybe, if it is I don't think there's a way around it, apart from not running the tutorial twice in one session. If you want to file it as a bug though please see here
  5. Thanks, it's not telling me much though, the mono library seems to be crashing but it doesn't say why, it could be a bad file so please try doing a file cache verification.
  6. I found this, and I thought it was the cause. [EXC 17:51:30.932] IsolatedStorageException: Could not find a part of the path "E:\SteamLibrary\SteamApps\common\Kerbal Space Program1-0-2\Kerbal Space Program\thumbs\training\A_VesselConstruction__Untitled Space Craft.png". Cannot unregister. But I get the same and it's not freezing, can you please do a file cache verification and try again.
  7. Hi madgelo, the log says there was no available memory and tried to use the null memory address of 0x00000000 but does not say why. Please post your output_log.txt the next time it crashes, it is in KSPData.
  8. Sorry to break it to both of you but this is an artefact of the stock polar icecap generation, the only "fix" might be to use a graphical addon.
  9. Didn't spot this before. 10. Hi jiangtiandao, this is not reproducible on Linux, can you please post your game logs after the freeze occurs.
  11. Well I dunno, your AP/PE is calculated based on your altitude and speed, and the more eccentric your orbit the greater the error can be.
  12. Hi Jack, KSP craft use a tree system, like a file system, so you can't just take one piece away. But just as you can move all the subfolders and delete an offending directory, you can remove everything after the part you don't want by picking up the next part and putting it to one side. Then you can remove the part you don't want, and reattach the rest of the craft. It's a good idea to back up the craft before making big changes, just rename it and save it under the new name and you'll have a copy.
  13. This isn't really KSP as such as it's about an OS, moved to Support, thought I think everyone will have to wait and see.
  14. By the way this is in the readme. So yes, the sun will have an effect now, but it didn't used to so a lot of players have not caught on yet
  15. Oh you'll have plenty of time to do a corrective burn if you need one, but as long as your burns are as accurate as possible you should find you're not too far off from where you want to be. But at those distances a half second either way will have a large difference to your final orbit, and can be more of a difference than the floating point error.
  16. I suggest you don't start KSP via Steam, I am sorry but I do not know anything about Steam bugs or how they might be fixed, or how Steam might be affecting KSP. The only thing Steam is supposed to do to KSP is start it, track hours played and check if the game is still running when the Steam client is closed, all other features are a part of the Steam client itself. Have you tried asking on the Steam forums about issues caused by using the Steam client? It seems likely that Steam issues would be reported there.
  17. I expect chrism78's fix is what you need as you have this in the log. DirectoryNotFoundException: Directory 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Kerbal Space Program\saves\Darth Kerman\Ships\SPH' not found.
  18. There is nothing we can do about this issue CanadianDutchman, sorry, it's floating point errors when dealing with such large numbers, though the developers have tried to improve things and Unity5 is supposed to offer better floating point accuracy. You will not have any issue with this when dealing with a contracts orbit, none of them are so precise or at such large eccentricity that these fluctuations will prevent them from begin completed.
  19. Synthesis, please post your save so I can show you what it looks like on my setup.
  20. This is bad, and can prevent the game from working correctly or at all.
  21. Hi YangQiming_, most likely it's because you are running KSP from the desktop, as it's not an installed program it has no write permissions in the windows registry. Copy KSP to C:\Games and run that copy, you can make a shortcut on the desktop if you want.
  22. Then you've not noticed the loss of power, or the engine CoM being a few metres in front of the part, this makes vtols a bit squirrely to fly.
  23. I tried the demo, ended up using the rcs to steer/stabilize my ascents, worked better than I expected actually. Though the demo really should have the 45
  24. This isn't a particularly flashy plane, actually it looks pretty bad, but it's meant as more of a technology demonstrator and it still flies pretty well. Since 1.0.2, vtols have been considered ruined by some, though dedicated and talented builders can still make great craft (cupcake), others need a little help with ideas on getting the engine to fit and the CoM in the right place. So I made this, it's small, light, and takes off vertically, it even handles, take a look. Here's the craft, just rename the extension to .craft, pop it in a save and you're good to go. Action group 1 is the horizontal jet, 2 is the vertical jet.
  25. Here would not be a bad place De4tht1de, I moved your thread, welcome to the Support section We'll try to help you avoid the crash, but if you want to report a bug please see the stickies in this section, there's a link to the bug tracker at the bottom of the "read this before posting!" thread.
