  1. It's a Unity3D engine bug, as Steve_V mentions here, and has been known in Unity for a long time, the Squad devs know about it but can't fix it. It does not affect all players though, so anything that affects Unity's garbage collection should be avoided, make sure your anti-virus is not scanning KSP, defrag your drive, turn off unneeded background processes, don't run fraps/bandicam, don't use Hamachi and even try allowing KSP through your firewall, as Unity uses urls to find game assets even on your own system and stupidly checks network adapters first.
  2. Known issue, but there's no known cause or resolution yet, usually you end up with not-a-number errors in your save file. Rather than rely on a single quicksave you can use alt+F5 or rightshift+f5 to make named saves.
  3. Moving to gameplay questions. If you make your fairing with as many short steps as possible you will have more panels when you stage, you can also edit nArcs to increase the number of panels.
  4. Disabling fuel flow does actually work, so please upload your craft, I'll see if I can fix it.
  5. Was this at the Mun? The voronoi craters are only generated at the Mun, so a lower terrain or render quality setting may help.
  6. It's possible this issue was not fully resolved, as Unity had to work around an OSX bug, a workaround that may not work on Yosemite.
  7. JJE64, post your logs after the next crash and we will try to find the cause.
  8. Thanks, but from what I've read so far, all that is taken care of by the Unity5 engine, and completely hidden from the developer, so it'd take rewriting how Unity5 handles physics threads to accomplish what you have in mind. A Unity developer who has Unity5 might be able to tell us what options if any are available, or you could take a look here.
  9. You forgot 4, it's a Unity4x limitation, which the move to Unity5 will address.
  10. You can add it to the target box of a shortcut to the KSP.exe, it's a Unity game engine command line argument.
  11. It'd not help to report this to Squad, the issue is how module manager changed your save. Back it up and open it, and look for the line with modulemanager in it, that's pointing to a modulemanager tech tree file you don't have installed anymore. Change the line to point to /GameData/Squad/Resources/TechTree.cfg and it'll work again. Ie: CAREER { TechTreeUrl = GameData/Squad/Resources/TechTree.cfg
  12. SkeeterKermin, there's a KSP.log in the game folder, and a output_log.txt in the KSPData folder, you can find these via the Steam client. Please post their contents to hastebin.com for us
  13. SkeeterKermin we don't know what the issue is without your logs, there is no telling what is causing this, though if it is because an addon damaged your install then completely re-installing the game will replace any damaged or missing files. A Steam cache verification might fix it, but might not.
  14. If quietghost's suggestion doesn't help, please see the support stickies and post your game logs. The symptoms you describe sound like the graphics drivers were updated but you have not yet rebooted your PC though.
  15. 1, It's the undergarment NASA astronauts wore during Mercury, Gemini and Apollo, it wasn't required on the STS or the ISS though. 2, Took me ages to find out I could rename any craft from the tracking station knowledge base.
  16. Luckily Frontier is shareware now, and you can get it from FrontierAstro.co.uk, as well as a remake of First Encounters
  17. Hi dewkiller72, where did you buy KSP?
  18. Hi YetiDynamics, I have moved this over to support, and a few people have noticed this bug, namely the developers themselves who all use 3D mice for work and play. The entire UI is going to be reworked with the move to Unity5, so I expect we'll see it fixed in 1.1 Here's one of the reports on this bug.
  19. Hey Murph, Squad obviously can't condone copyright license infringement which is why certain sites aren't allowed to be linked here, but Squad has no issues with fan sites like Kerbal Stuff which do a great job of respecting modders wishes. Doesn't stop modders issuing their own DMCA takedown notices though if they wish, but their effectiveness can vary, sites that scraped modders work aren't likely to take much notice of them. Squad does have a legal department that deals with infringement of the Kerbal IP, but Squad don't own modders work so can't really do much about it.
  20. Some people have been having difficulty getting KSP to run with -force-opengl now, it doesn't really break your game, it just isn't reliable.
  21. The stock wheels only have one brake torque slider, so if you are seeing more there is something wrong with your files.
  22. The KSP.log should be next to the KSP.exe, output_log.txt is in KSPData.
  23. Oh man, memories, one of the best flights I ever did in KSP was to the Mun and back with as little fuel as possible, got there and landed using 8 tanks (fuel came in one size back then, it was the style at the time) came back on RCS, barely, I was on vapours as I got my periapsis below 70km. Not knowing if I'd make it added a lot to the suspense.
