Curse is providing addon hosting for Squad, and there's player provided sites like Kerbalstuff and KerbalX for craft and the Comprehensive Kerbal Archive Network. Aero is changed yes, you won't be able to wing-spam as drag will keep your speed down, and there's no infiniglide anymore, it's best you just try it for yourself

Well, I'd back up all my saves and craft first. Modded craft and saves may break if the mods they use have not been updated or have changed significantly, even stock saves and craft may break which is why it's important to make back-ups. The patcher is AWOL so non-Steam updates require a full re-download. Hope this helps

Really slow game start?
sal_vager replied to webkilla's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
Yeah, it should be fixed as it affects a lot of players. It's a Unity bug though, Unity seems to use URL's to find assets on your filesystem, but doesn't ignore disabled network adapters. Unity3D bug report January 2014, www-Class for loading local texture is very slow. -
Really slow game start?
sal_vager replied to webkilla's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
Hi webkilla, you need to disable any unused network adapters, even virtual ones such as Hamachi. -
Hi dubAUT, KSP uses a system similar to a file system tree for vessel hierarchy, you can only have one parent part but many children. You can use struts to add more links, they are a bit like a shortcut to a file from another folder. So only use one radial decoupler, and use struts for any secondary connections.

1.0.2 Rocket keep spinning, low altitude
sal_vager replied to PetrGasparik's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Hi PetrGasparik, I suggest swapping the radial parachute that you have on your capsule for a normal parachute, the same as you have on our boosters. The weight of that parachute can be enough to make the rocket want to fall over. I would also add more fins to the base to you have some in two directions, so they form an X -
BSOD with non-functioning GUI
sal_vager replied to pgiustino's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
Hi pgiustino, upload your save folder and it might be fixable. If you are getting Windows blue screens (stop errors) you will need to disable the automatic restart and get the stop error message, [Click here] -
Rocket is steering automaticly
sal_vager replied to skipan's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
Is your alt key stuck? What you have there looks like trim, press alt+X to remove all trim. -
Graphical settings not recorded
sal_vager replied to fopim's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
Heh, of course, LC_ALL isn't applied to KSP.x86_64, only to the 32bit version, and it's only really required for non-English languages, if you run into any weirdness delete your settings.cfg as well. -
Spinning Rocket Error Problem
sal_vager replied to aeromike221's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Aerodynamics have changed, you will have to learn some new tricks and unlearn the old ones, this is not bone-headed. -
KSP Folder Acess denied
sal_vager replied to deltadonut's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
Hi deltadonut, this is not a KSP issue but a Windows operating system issue, so all I can do is point you to Windows forums where your error has been addressed. This page looks like what you need, [click here]. If that doesn't help then you'll have to try a proper Windows help forum, as we can really only help with KSP specific issues here. -
Okay you're going to need to do a few things, first, you need to disable "restart after system error", this will be different on different versions of Windows so hit up Google and find where to do it on your system, what we need are the error codes from the stop error when your computer crashes. Once you know what the error codes are you can find them in the event log (again, Google) so you don't have to write them all out by hand. Once you have those, post them here.

Graphical settings not recorded
sal_vager replied to fopim's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
Hi fopim, no this isn't a bug in KSP, it's most likely that you have a permissions problem. KSP stores the last good graphics settings in a prefs file in "/home/user/.config/unity3d/Squad/Kerbal Space Program/prefs", the rest goes in settings.cfg, so you should check the permissions on the game folder. Also check for a settings.cfg where you run your script from, if it's being written there instead of the game folder that might be why this is happening. I have a script as well but mine's like this. #!/bin/bash cd "/home/yourusernamehere/.local/share/Steam/SteamApps/common/Kerbal Space Program/" ./KSP.x86_64 I don't have any problem, see if that works better for you. -
The craft shouldn't flip out from the reaction wheel torque, it's likely the mass of the wheel is causing it to act like an arrow flying backwards, it'll want to flip. SAS is bugged and it can be off center sometimes but it's not constant, we will need to see your craft to determine more. Please see the support stickies and upload your craft files.

perpetually spinning Asteroid
sal_vager replied to Cimroa's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
Hi Cimroa, to help diagnose this we'll need your KSP.log and player.log from after this issue occurs, we'll also need your save file and if you can record the event that'd help too. Please see the sticked support threads for more info. -
Measure temperature above question
sal_vager replied to Melkien's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
I'd give the plane some rocket power, with a central liquid fuel and oxidiser tank and a LV-T30 or 45, and a pair of side tanks with liquid fuel only and basic jets, with the wings on those side tanks Also don't forget the thermometers! -
Measure temperature above question
sal_vager replied to Melkien's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
It's an option yeah, or fit a rocket to your jet and power your way up from below -
Crash on startup - modded
sal_vager replied to Baladain's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
Hi Baladain, that log only tells us that you ran out of addressable memory, your KSP.log and output_log can tell us more, please see the support stickies for more info on these -
Pretty much, also you can set drag as acceleration instead of a force for an even more pre 1.0 feel.
