  1. Turns out solar panels are pretty weak as heat dissipators, wings work better, but it's a bit late in this case. Best to run only one drill or move to a spot with more ore, as extraction will be easier and generate less heat
  2. Well, mining generates heat and the heat shield reacts directly to heat, so I guess your drills are getting hot and the heat is transferring to the shield. There's thermal debug info in the Alt+F12 menu that can show heat on different parts, it should show the drills and connected parts getting very hot.
  3. Heh, realistic... The CoM of the engines is where they should have been if there was an actual engine body and not just a funky exhaust nozzle
  4. None of my vtols have had any trouble yet, actually none of my planes have either
  5. I think you're going to have to live with a taskbar entry rather than an icon, sorry, Squad don't do anything with KSP at this level, it's all handled by the Unity3D engine and if a Unity update breaks compatibility with Iconize and similar programs, you're best option is to file a bug report on the Unity tracker.
  6. Do you have a "KSP_linux/Launcher_Data/Mono (x86_64)" folder? I notice that mines missing.
  7. I don't know how to even begin figuring this out, it's with an unknown 3rd party program and there's no issues for it on the Unity tracker, I can't even find a website for the Iconize program. Where did you get it? Edit: You have two of these, I'm closing this one.
  8. Hmm, KSP uses the Mono library built into Unity, not the one from the repos so updating that won't do a lot here, do you have both the x86 and x86_64 launchers or just one? Also please provide your system info.
  9. Can you guys try deleting your current settings.cfg files please, also when changing key modes in the settings screen, actually rebind the key as well at the same time, it seems it won't "take" unless you rebind (using the same key as before is fine) Not sure if this is Windows only but for me on Linux at least I'm not getting this issue, and docking mode is operating normally.
  10. FAR is a mod I believe, if you modify the game to make them stable then of course they are going to be stable
  11. Did you know pods aren't aerodynamically stable when they are the sole part? They aren't in .90 or .25 either, I had to go check.
  12. No idea if they will fix it, though most of the devs use 3D mice both for work and for KSP, the lead dev HarvesteR would like to find time to get this going as well, so you never know
  13. It may be a bad save, if the craft files are okay, so something to test would be another savegame and copy your craft into it. You could put the zip on dropbox.
  14. 6DOF is for 3D mice like the spaceorb, so won't effect TrackIR anyway, and the settings.cfg only shows "TRACKIR_ENABLED" for me so I guess there's no sensitivity control. There's no per-application settings in the TrackIR software?
  15. I don't know yet, the only guy who fixed this did it by doing a complete re-install of Ubuntu, but there has to be a better way.
  16. Resource mining was a very commonly requested feature, and was planned at one point but in an overdone and convoluted way
  17. Both illuminators are in Electrics, a 4th tier node on the lowest "path" of the new tech tree
  18. They aren't as solid as you think no, not to parts attached to the same vessel anyway as physics between parts of the same craft was disabled back in 0.17 I think, there was a lot of trouble with aircraft bending and becoming unflyable due to clipped parts. Other craft that impact the fairings will hit them and break them though, including your upper stage when detached, as it immediately becomes a separate vessel. Wobble is making this a lot more obvious than it should be, struts only help a bit and I think the new fairing bases are a lot less rigid compared to other parts, it's like they are made of rubber.
  19. Are you using winrar? It's not as good as people think, Windows has a built-in zip archive extractor and there is the free program 7zip.
  20. Hi Krakenfour, have you tried the manual for Iconize? I have tried to find information on this program but all I find are 3rd party uninstallers, instructions on the programs removal and Japanese websites. I very much doubt this is something we can address here to be honest.
  21. I don't think this is possible to fix, anything as low level as how the game interacts with the operating system would be handled by the Unity engine, though it's probably just a setting in iconify somewhere.
  22. Tourists aren't trained to do anything so complex, they are just along for the ride
