  6. Hi Guys and girls, it's another month in 2014 and with it comes another batch of threads you may have seen but are worth seeing again We start September by looking back at what has to be one of, if not the most impressive mission reports (formally in GD) by Wooks, is he the first one to circumnavigate Kerbin by land? I think he is, and I think you'll be equally as impressed by his accomplishments. -------------------- From Gameplay Questions comes not a thread this time but a post by merendel, succinctly explaining why we see contrails on our aircraft at such low altitudes -------------------- We visit the Science labs again this month (always dangerous, but trust me) for Streetwind's excellent thread on catching Sedna, is it possible? Maybe... Maybe NASA need to borrow the Kerbals Claw? -------------------- Fan art now and we lose ourselves in the deep chrome of SybyAbraham's Mainsail engine, we're still waiting to see your Skipper SybyAbraham -------------------- In the Spacecraft Exchange Nik_601 shows off what he's capable of in the Army, civil and sport trucks pack. These are some impressive machines, so if you are into heavy metal check them out! -------------------- We can't have a TOTM without a challenge, so this month we take a look at Kadrian's thread, Poland can into Space! It's both hilarious and challenging -------------------- And finally, the thread that all the others measure up against, or more accurately that measures other threads, is JoePatrick1's Banana for Scale. Fruity
  7. Okay I think what happened is you got a bad file in the save folder somehow, I'm glad it's working
  8. You can start KSP using the KSP.x86 and KSP.x86_64 binary files with LC_ALL=C from a terminal. What kind of file system is your Linux install on?
  9. Dude, it's a game, you're supposed to have fun, how you have fun is up to each of us individually
  10. Forsooth, is this a knave I see before me? A scoundrel seeking to diminish the fun of others? To dictate how fun should be had? Suffer not the Mechjeb hating individual, for he hath no regard for you, give him not your ear or your mind.
  11. Taking a look Edit: Sounds a little like you have a corrupt save, which can cause weird things to happen, so it may help to delete the saves folder and make Steam redownload them (verify cache) Another thing to try is to run the KSP.x86_64 directly instead of using Steam, and see if there is any difference. It's also possible there's a hardware issue here, but it's really hard to tell at this point, let us know if you have no luck after trying the above and consider using the latest stable driver instead of the beta, don't forget to reboot.
  12. You can right click the claw and unlock it, allowing you to move your craft while still attached, this lets you align yourself with the CoM
  13. I'll see if I can make it work. Edit: YES!, I'll update the OP, click to enbiggenate.
  14. Hiya Red, we thought about this and decided that there are other rules that already deal with any offensive invisotext, and should any member find something hidden that falls under those rules they are to use the report button to bring it to the moderation teams attention
  15. All this talk on realism has got me thinking.... I'm not entirely sure that realism is what's best for KSP, this might not be easy to describe but what would make KSP better in my opinion would be more accuracy. Orbiter has realism, but if KSP was as complex and realistic as orbiter it'd lose that pick-up-and-play fun factor, but what KSP does do, despite being simplified and omitting many real-world aspects, should be as accurately portrayed as possible. This would keep the game being fun, as "real-world" physics can be just as enjoyable as "near-enough" physics if not more so, and would be far more valuable as a teaching tool, as a stepping stone to teaching more complex things about space travel and exploration. Adding life support, radar, speed-of-light communication and occlusion (examples), while cool, should take a back seat to making what KSP does do as "right" as possible without losing that fun factor.
  16. Have fun in KSP SSSPutnik, welcome back and fly safe
  17. Hi, I'd like to remind everyone present that all threads should be civil, polite and avoid any fallacious arguments or fighting Carry on (minus the above)
  18. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/88286-SPOILER-%28possibly%29-New-main-menu-screen?p=1313669&viewfull=1#post1313669 Sorry NNukBomba, but this keeps coming up like a bad penny, so I have to close it :/
  19. It has, and it's time it went to the Kerbal network anyway.
  20. Pyjama ninjas from outer space sounds like a nicktoons show, and it'd still be better than the recent ninja turtles movie....
  21. Eh, you get one free name change, just ask your nearest moderator
  22. See the sheriffs star under a post? Click it for posts you like Felsmak is wearing his ninja pyjamas today I see
