  1. Just remember that all roleplaying takes place off of the KSP forums, the Moderation team does not want to have to try keeping it under control any more.
  2. The download link works fine, I just tried it now.
  3. Wow sounds like a fun challenge cooly, maybe add points for every G the Kerbals take when they hit as well
  4. Hi twobit, this has indeed been brought up before, and after the kicking, screaming and fires were stopped/put out, it was moved to Off-Topic, and later allowed to die. So to avoid this happening again, this is going straight to Off-Topic, thank you for your cooperation.
  5. [mod]Off-Topic discussion moved from the Dev thread to a more suitable area.[/mod]
  6. Hi CanadianTaser, the Kerbal roleplay board was shut down not very long ago as it was becoming impossible to manage, and the wars and bickering were giving people the wrong impression of the game. There have been a few attempts to revive it, all are off site and any roleplay that sneaks back here tends to degenerate quite fast, and has to be stopped by the moderation team. So instead we have the nice new fan fiction board where people can post their pics and stories based on KSP. Enjoy your stay and have fun
  7. And the 2010 book has even more, the last transmission of the Tsien is not to be missed.
  8. Sorry Kodiak, 0.14.3 is gone, it is condemned to the bowels of the Squad svn repository (or git maybe) and is no longer supported or available. Hopefully 0.16 won\'t be too far away and it\'ll have a lot of improvements, the current poor performance is known and is a pain in the abdomen. as KSP gets closer to a 1.0 release it\'ll be properly optimised as well, but until then we have to hold on and hope for the best with each update.
  9. Hi Vincent, how are you? Is there no help with this issue on the Orbiter forums? there\'d be more people there who\'d have tried this and would be able to help.
  10. Has anyone had a chance to see if the part gravity mod still works in KSP? If I recall correctly it came with a persistence file that placed some munlets, asteroids and blackholes around Kerbin and the Mun. The old persistence file won\'t work now I think, but you should still be able to place the asteroid and munlet manually.
  11. Rather then bring this 3 month old thread back from the dusty depths of the forums, you could have easily made a new topic with your cool video IzeHouze, so I\'m going to move this to General where it will get the attention it deserves.
  12. Welcome to the community Khrissetti It\'s good to see another fan of KSP, have fun!
  13. Sounds good. Non weapon uses would be for the rocket carrier I mentioned, it could be set to fly back to base instead of just spiralling out of control as any other spent stage does. Flyback boosters might be possible as well, the system might be expandable for orbital craft too, such as remote probes. Basically it would be an extension of the current remote control system, but for parts not connected to the current pod, maybe even for other complete craft if we want. Something to avoid though is turning it into Mechjeb, Mechjeb can\'t remote control craft in any way though, all it currently allows is for you to retake control of parts with a Mechjeb attached.
  14. I know, I love the S-D system, nothing is safe Perhaps, rather than having a Lazor on each missile, you could have the main Lazor on the craft, designate a target like you currently can, designate the missile you want to fire (maybe the missile part will have to have a crystal and emitter at least, to designate it as a missile) then the Lazor will feed direction control to the missile while the targetcam shows us the missiles eye view? This way you can have the one main Lazor system like we currently do and turn anything into a missile or self flying drone, if you used this with a rocket carrier aircraft you could set the aircraft to have a target, launch your rocket, then have the aircraft automatically fly to the target thanks to the Lazor.
  15. I\'m back I think the idea is that it should be possible to mount a Lazor on a missile (maybe a few tanks and an engine, maybe an SRB) and be able to lock on it\'s Lazor, fire it, and watch it fly into the target on it\'s own. The thread I linked is turning into an argument over how much weapons have a place in KSP, but if it\'s done with mods like it currently is, there\'s no problems. I have to test the latest Lazor, been struggling with framerate and sound issues for a while and may have to change to a different desktop, pulseaudio is a pain in the bum.
  16. How about a seeking ability? Themohawkninja asks for heatseeking for missiles in this thread but the Lazor could do optically guided instead Could be a lot of fun
  17. Bandwidth is nice but when you are communicating over such long distances, you mainly need power and sensitive receiving equipment. On this page you can find info on what the Soviets used with the Venera space probes, they needed far more power than a modern cell phone is designed to handle.
  18. [mod]Jaydee, use spoiler tags when quoting images, if your comment is not edited with spoiler tags by the time I remember to check this thread again, I will delete your comment as it adds nothing to the discussion.[/mod]
  19. [mod]Sepearated and moved this Off-Topic as it's turned into a discussion on firearms.[/mod]
  20. Something else to bear in mind is that spare parts and repairs were not available to the crew of the Apollo missions and others, so computer systems were and are still chosen for their proven long term reliability, especially for satellites and probes which will have to operate with no visits from tech support. Magnetic core memory had only just been patented in 1960, with Gemini and Apollo starting in 1961/62, I have to assume that core rope was invented some time earlier as I can\'t find a definite invention date, google, why do you fail me?
  21. If it\'s like Blender, and I see no reason why it wouldn\'t be, than you have to reduce the size of your part in Maya. Can you set it to use meters as it\'s units of measurement? If you make a .5 radius part it should come out as 1m diameter.
  22. Yeah, fully functional, they can go forwards and backwards They have lights and steering, plus a handbrake, they still need a command pod though.
  23. I\'m sure others will give you a better rundown than I can, but in simple terms, the game can now tell when you switch from Kerbins Sphere Of Influence to the SOI of another body, such as the Mun. It can display the new trajectory relative to the new orbit, you will still move in the same way, but now you can see clearly where you will be when you reach the Mun (or when the Mun reaches you) You will also see the point where you will leave the Muns SOI, and if you change the CONIC_PATCH_LIMIT in the settings.cfg from 2 to 3, you\'ll see the next orbit after the Mun as well.
  24. This is a poll, rather than a suggestion to the Devs, and planets are coming don\'t you worry. This thread would be much better off in General Discussion to be honest.
  25. Here\'s how NASA made the software for the Space Shuttle. There\'s an Apollo computer simulator on the net somewhere, I\'ll post it if I can find it. Edit: Here is a javascript version of the Apollo lunar lander computer, it gives you an idea of what they had to work with back then Plus more info on the computers used here at Wikipedia.
