  1. I wonder if the Telesat satellites actually needs a 7 meter fairing. The largest geosynchronous communication satellite uses the SSL1300 satellite bus, wich only needs a 5 meter fairing.
  2. Yes, but this the first time a fourth stage has been used. Isn't it amazing, this is totally awesome! Using the second or third stage for experiments? Pfff, lame. Using the fourth stage is revolutionary.
  3. No, don't think so. A Methane-Oxygen combustion reaction produces only Carbon Dioxide and Water, no pure Carbon, unlike Kerosene/RP-1
  4. Without an engine, hmmmm maybe its a refueling depot.
  5. NASA is hiding something from us.
  6. Is that a real actively cooled heatshield segment or are they just heating a sheet of stainless steel
  7. I sort of want to make a little printable version of Atomic Rockets, or something like it. So i make (rough) designs of spacecraft werever i go, without internet connection, so i don't have to whine when there is no wifi, and still have stuff to do.

  8. Saw it as well, early in the morning at 6:00am I had a dream about the moon blowing up that night so that was funny.
  9. This is a little thread about things that have been to space. How much interaction do you people have with things that are going/have been to space?
  10. I don't think they are vernier engines. Vernier thrusters are really only usefull for launch vehicle engines, not orbital spacecraft. RCS could do the job just fine orienting and steering the ship in orbit.
  11. I thought of that place recently. I was wondering what they were going to do with that site, but apparently the ranch in Texas is a better construction site.
  12. I discover how to color lineart today.
  13. @Delay, drawing sometimes doesn't kick off as well with some people, and thats normal. Im not the biggest expert but i can give you tips. I haven't seen your drawings so i don't know what exact tips to give you. If you maybe can post a drawing i can give you tips.
  14. When was the last time a saw real-time footage from the surface of the Moon again? like, 47 years?
  15. I have seen a few people make fun of this movie, because it ''looked stupid''. I geuss the future of mankind will 'look stupid' i geuss.
  16. Ooh yes! The drawing above is the oldest drawing i could find that i made myself, made back when i was a toddler. I redrew them when i got my drawing tablet. The 'i drew all my life' argument really isn't valid when it comes to how experienced some is with drawing. The only advantage you have drawing all your life over any other person is that you have a little bit of confidence. I don't know how to explain this, but younger children just draw, they put a pencil on a piece of paper and scribble away, straight from their imagination, they don't want to learn to make it any better, they just want to draw and have fun. Heck, i was drawing the same stickmen for 10 years of my entire life. When i got older and start to take drawing a bit more seriously, i realized that my art was childish, and i had to improve. The moment when you realize you need to improve and make your art better is the beginning of the real deal.
  17. If you have been hanging around on the SpaceXlounge for a few days, you might have seen this painting, and hey i made it, and although i don't like it, im still proud! Version with ice: Also: An improvement of this drawing i made a day ago:
  18. Oooh, the person who painted this is such a great artist, hmmmm, i wonder who made it...
  19. At first i was going to say this was going to be the last one, but no, this is just the end of the beginning of these kind of posts.
