I can almost confirm that it's related to ship save files. I deleted all but 2 yesterday and haven't had a hick-up since. Pretty sure DeCana's right.

Sounds like one heck of a headache for a sub-contracted 3rd party developer who also has the go through Microsoft or Sony to get certification to make a patch. That's a mouthful.

Makes sense. The only confusing part about that is the fact that that would mean that it stops syncing at some point. For example: I smashed the game for over 8 hours one day, almost 5 hours the next day and then it rolls back to hour 6 of the first day. Never synced once on the second day I guess? And out of curiosity, you wouldn't happen to know if Squad is even responsible for the console patches would you? Is it up to them to make fixes or Flying Tiger? Or both?

Honestly, all that they need to do to recreate it is play the game for around 10 hours lol. After it happens once on my Science Mode on Xbox, it stays, and it will then happen over and over again.

I lose all of my saves except for the persistant save file (for some reason a MUCH MUCH older one) and a single quicksave file. The same files every time. Just running in place basically. It always reverts to the same spot

Maybe paying close attention to the in-game time that the crash occurs might help. See if it happens at the same time as it did before.

I replied to a post a little while ago with this and I figured it might help if we all have a discussion to narrow down the root of the game breaking bugs. Please state your console followed by the full details leading up to your crash/loss of data. Here's my experience on Xbox One: Start a game, get multiple vessels in action (as in orbit, landings, and I'm pretty sure the MPLs might be playing a part in this), make sure you've got some debris from spent fuel tanks in orbit (might play a part in this) and then time warp. "Works" for me everytime. The game will crash, you re-open it and you are then reverted to an extremely earlier state. After that, it will continue to crash and it will always revert to the same state. Has anyone experienced this issue WITHOUT deploying any MPLs? This might help narrow it down.

The demo idea is moot (no offense). It takes hours of gameplay to cause this issue, something that wouldn't/couldn't happen on the demo. Just to clarify, Xbox One demos generally and almost always are just the full game with a 1 hour lockout timer.

It feels nice to breath again. I'm glad we've finally got some response. I'm pretty sure there's no way to relay the logs to you guys or even view them myself, but I can tell you how to re-create the crash on Xbox One: Start a game, get multiple vessels in action (as in orbit, landings, and I'm pretty sure the MPLs might be playing a part in this), make sure you've got some debris from spent fuel tanks in orbit (might play a part in this) and then time warp. "Works" for me everytime. The game will crash, you re-open it and you are then reverted to an extremely earlier state. Just to be clear, I'm not ranting here, just speaking for me and my fellow console players. First off, congratulations to Squad and Flying Tiger for porting this amazing game to consoles. Of course some bugs were to be expected. My only issue is the lack of response we've gotten as to when we can expect fixes. I'm sure you guys are super busy, especially considering that you're actively hiring at the moment. We would just love to see something along the lines of "Hey guys, we have acknowledged these issues and we're sorting them out asap. You can expect to see a fix in the next few days" or something along those lines. I live and breathe KSP and I personally, am unable to play on the PC, so this is gut wrenching for me. I can handle a few bugs here and there but we have a game breaker on both Xbox one and PS4. We would just like a little peace of mind knowing that we haven't been forgotten and knowing that we won't have to sit here twiddling our thumbs waiting on a fix for our purchase. I feel that the $40 we spent on this game at least merits some response here and there. Don't get me wrong, I'm no naysayer asking for my money back, just a (very) dedicated gamer waiting on my fix.

Cant Save the game! Savefiles missing on restart!
Homedawgian replied to DaCana's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (Console)
While I don't think I'm quite as repulsed by this situation as you, I have to say, you are right about the lack of response. I am very curious as to where the devs are on this. This is a HUGE issue and I've gone from thread to thread and it seems like everyone is talking to a brick wall. No response and most of the bugs aren't listed as actual bugs yet, especialy this monster of a game breaker. I'm having the exact same issue as you. This whole thing does make me curious as to who's responsible for the patch. Who's gonna fix it? Squad or FT? And whomever is responsible, do they have dedicated devs for the consoles or is this just some side project? I freaking LOVE this game and I can't play it (no PC). Devs, where are you? Tell us that everything's going to be okay and that it won't be long 'til it gets fixed. I'm having KSP withdrawals man...- 6 replies

Staging Collapses After EVA
Homedawgian replied to Gutterboy44's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (Console)
This is an XBone issue as well. It also removes your staged engine fuel display. -
SAS gets deactivated when using cursor on PS4

This is an issue on XBone as well. It's not too terrible but it definitely does limit your ability to multitask. -
(Xbox) Game Breaking Crash/Loss of Save File
Homedawgian replied to Homedawgian's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (Console)
I've looked all over the bug tracker, couldn't find a submission form or anything. Preach it!! Still though, I'd rather redo the missions I've done already, over and over again instead of not having KSP at all. -
(Xbox) Game Breaking Crash/Loss of Save File
Homedawgian replied to Homedawgian's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (Console)
To be completely honest, I am way too much in love with this game to ever even entertain the idea of asking for a refund. I've been following the KSP forums for years now, watching and learning it on Twitch and patiently waiting almost a year for the console release after the announcement. If anything, I would consider the $40 I spent on this game a donation to the development of this absolutely astounding piece of virtual bliss. I have full faith in Squad/Flying Tiger to being able to fix these major game breaking issues sooner, rather than later. Also, considering that this is now considered a complete game on Xbox One, not a preview, I'm sure we can expect to see a fix in just a few weeks at the absolute latest (Microsoft doesn't take too kindly to selling "broken" titles). I personally, am way too invested in this game to just write it off. I'm looking forward to seeing what Squad/Flying Tiger say about these issues soon. -
(Xbox) Game Breaking Crash/Loss of Save File
Homedawgian replied to Homedawgian's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (Console)
Yes, it has been auto saving pretty consistently and I don't have any save files to delete. It just reverts the game to a previous save that is unlisted in my save files. I usually only have just the one save file, plus or minus a quick save. -
(Xbox) Game Breaking Crash/Loss of Save File
Homedawgian replied to Homedawgian's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (Console)
From what I'm reading, it seems this is the exact issue PS4 players are experiencing. Sounds identical, it's just not listed as a bug yet. -
This is NOT listed as a bug as of yet. I absolutely love this game and this bug breaks my heart because of the fact that I absolutely can't play until it's fixed. This is what happens: I spend literally 8 hours straight (I have no life) building, launching and I eventually manage to get 3 Mobile Prossesing Labs producing copious amounts of data (One in Kerbin orbit, One in Muner orbit and one on the surface of Minmus). On my return to the space center the game crashes. I then open KSP again and load the game and it loads the game with around a 8 hour rollback. I've lost all of my vessels, not just the ones already launched but the some of the save files of the actual vessels. I find that I don't even have the parts I used to build them unlocked yet. Obviously I was quite upset, so guess what? I persevered and DID IT ALL again, only this time, I managed to also land a probe on Eve. I go back to the space center and CRASH! I'm thinking "I'm all good, there's no way I just completely wasted all of that time again." I load the game up and was right back where I was before, with a half built ship and without some of the parts unlocked. My friend just reported he had the same issue. (Also on Xbox and we both have been playing on Science Mode.)

KSP launches on XBox One, update on EU PS4 release
Homedawgian commented on KasperVld's article in Developer Articles
Still waiting... Have been for 6 and a half hours. Why did they bother saying it would be released at 12AM PST? I feel like we will be lucky if it even gets released today. I've patiently been waiting since the announcement almost a year ago, checking in almost daily to see the progress on the console versions. I feel like a kid on Christmas morning who finds that there are no presents under the tree and that Santa clause isn't real at the same time.
