Finally started a long-term science mode game. I should be embarrassed. I'm still a newbie to the game despite all I've done for the community. To make things easy for myself and take away some of the early grind I gave myself 500 science and built the Science Van but to keep things challenging my science gain multiplier is 40%. I have further challenges to add and explore, and will mention them once they're merely installed or finally become prominent. Two pairs of Junos provide forward and reverse locomotion and the van intends to operate in water, carrying a DMagic ocean science part on the far side. There are currently 15 experiments and they altogether return 20 science.

This.

@daniel l. oh thooooose. That'd be epic. A mega performance hit is to be expected, sadly, if an EVE nebula is implemented well. But I'm sure it'll be worth it.

Made and tested 4 more skyboxes in total. Now I'm touching up in Photoshop because some have very clear artifacts that'll make them look like garbage on high-contrast monitors. There's a second space photo one and 8 for EVE Online now, at least one for each faction. Link is in my signature.
-
@Blacks Fixed the Gallente-Minmatar issue. There are also now 7 8 EVE Online skyboxes at the time of this writing... Now to fix the gap for Minmatar.
-
@Avera9eJoe do as you will with any skybox I put up except the EVE Online ones. That freedom is why the NGC one is there, and any space photo kind I put up later. On the side: It looks like I have to do touchups to the darker of the Gallente images if I post them. They'll all look like garbage on screens with mega contrast ratios. I wouldn't download that if I saw it coming... I don't want anyone else to have to put up with that. But images like those I would solo out for @daniel l.'s galaxy mod so they gotta be in good condition.
-
@Avera9eJoe I doubt I'll be able to answer your questions but I'd like to receive them anyway. I googled very hard to get the source for a high-enough-res public domain space photo to make into that skybox.
-
You're welcome @Blacks. Those links are my source, and the "Gallente" one is in the Minmatar album.

[KSP 1.12.1+] Galileo's Planet Pack [v1.6.6] [23 Sept 2021]
JadeOfMaar replied to Galileo's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
@CattyNebulart That's a normal bug feature of Scatterer and its ocean shader. Now I'm curious about your Gas Mapper craft.- 7,372 replies

Install Texture Replacer from its maintainer's GitHub. Then find and download the skybox you want and merge its Default folder (the skybox itself) and EnvMap folder (for kerbal helmet reflections) inside GameData\TextureReplacer.

Two more EVE Online skyboxes now available (for a total of 4). The sea ship is "KSS Laythe" from letmeparkthatforyou on KerbalX. "Kickass Station" by scootymcpuff on KerbalX...... And Squad's "Orbiter" landed. With DOE on I had to sit right on the terminator at Minmus for sun and skybox to show. Minmus rings??? ...Nah. But it sure looks good.
-
@Agustin Mine is the Eden Sunflare from @Thomassino (it seems the forum kraken took their thread so, SpaceDock link)
-
I plopped down on Duna. My skyboxes are here. Come and get them.

Here's my 2nd OPT-based station. Unlike the Pirate Station this one belongs to the homeworld and isn't just a wild idea to show off. It's going to serve. It has 3 crew arms and 3 cargo arms and features a J Lab rather than a stock or Mk2 Lab (The pointy outermost pieces are tails from Mk2 Expansion). Instead of cabins/lab in the cargo arms there are service bays with Clamp-O-Tron Seniors for slipping tall modules through and connecting like camera batteries or gun clips... One of these bays is sadly blocked by a Dark Drive; 6 dorsal small inline docking ports + 6 ventral large inline docking ports + the 3 Clamp Sr's + 3 stock shielded ports in the ring make for plenty expansion.

I bet you're wondering if this is still even KSP. That aside, Iota and Ceti were in a fabulous position. This is a mid-game or late-game station concept.- 7,372 replies

This sure came quick. Congrats on making this real.

I wrestled the noise and over-vibrancy in this skybox...and produced the EnvMap for visor reflections. If this is satisfying I'll package it later today and share. Its particular name is NGC 4449. I'll also release that green skybox that was first shown. (Note that its opacity is 80% due to my Distant Object settings...and I'll deal with the redshift/warp at its in 3rd pic.)
