Heh. ...The main thing holding me back is this thing where everything but my craft and the sunflare stop rendering (my craft appears to be in a void) in flight view after tabbing through many worlds in map view ...and I get NRE flood. The only things I changed/replaced were the DDS for the skybox. @kraden I dislike the brightness and noise from so many background stars too. Picking a skybox-worthy NASA space photo is one of the hardest things.... @Tyko

Today it was my turn to raise the bar for KSP visual enhancement and with help from the awesometacular @Poodmund I escaped my little barely-there purple skybox and defied the Poodmund skybox status quo! I also went and orbited in atmosphere, again. This might be the last time I fly, at all, this upgrade concept to my NOX Crown spaceplane because the steering gets lousy at any decent speed. The added engine weights over its current release version have made it a flying brick. I also finally made something that I can (almost) comfortably share on KerbalX, a concept space taxi with nearly 1.2 TWR on Mun surface and 4000 dV. (The inner-center engines are up-scaled a little more to exactly 1.25m after these screenshots). It's inspired by the Asp craft from Elite: Dangerous. A 1.25m USI reactor clipped in the back more than provides for the engines and the up-scaled solar panels draw > 4 EC/s each. There's currently no Mono/RCS on this. Lastly there's an open space in the center and room on the engine stacks for more Xenon or plenty LS. Mods used here: Malemute, Tweakscale, surface Lights.

@Enceos That's pretty cool. This glass station is just a fleeting concept item whereas I definitely want my OPT station to serve in my soon-coming long-term game (I think its looks make it worth hiding for now). I'm looking forward to seeing the new features. I hope they include hue shift because I need even more purple, haha. Yes your kerbals are actually EVA within the structures. The floors and domes are individual parts; the airlocks have hatches on both sides as well but no lights. I would add facilities inside but I have no fixed purpose to motivate me to choose stuff to put in there... unlike my mining/construction surface base concept using those parts and Karbonite or SimpleConstruction respectively.

Today I installed SimpleConstruction and tuned a number of things concerning it: the stock drills and ISRU to handle MetallicOre instead of Ore and lose the default fuel production modules (because Karbonite) and then I designed two completely different stations. One uses OPT parts and can change SOI, but the other (this one) uses Planetary Domes and @Enceos Animated Station Screens. I've been itching to build a station with glass spheres, even before this domes mod existed (I wished transparent PP textures was a thing) ...or ever since I learned of it. Unfortunately, and I saw this coming, I tripped an autostrut bomb by docking these two massive 100+ part vessels. The empty procedural tank (Saturn textured cylinder) in the station is 26 tons and had some autostruts leading to it from the frail extremities (outermost half-size domes). Whether whole or shattered this was a beautiful and pleasing sight. Where's Picasso Kerman? This needs to be chronicled on a traditional medium. Would this happen with a lighter, autostrut-less vessel? Who knows.
