Built a supersonic AWACS, codenamed Gungnir. It's designed to provide recon support for large-scale air battle Unlike most AWACS, Gungnir is designed to spearhead the aerial assault, thrusting through enemy territory while marking all enemy airceaft within large area and relaying the recon data to allied squadron while jamming enemy electronics Gungnir is designed to perform multiple pass through contested airspace, providing constant ECM, reconnaisance and targeting data to allied units. It carries no weapon. Speed, ECM and flares are the only defense it has, it flies so fast that it's very difficult to be targeted and can simply outrun incoming missiles

I made a small exploration aircraft Despite it's chubby appearance, it's surprisingly maneuverable It has a maximum of 6 crew capacity and space for science instruments It has a maximum speed of mach 0.8, slow enough for comfortable flying. Maximum operational altitude is 10 km, any higher and the engine flames out Also, since I need some thrill... BANZAIIIII!!!

For homeworld fans, yes, it is the best in the series. Cataclysm is the closest in my opinion, the RTS that's also a survival horror. But at the time of Cataclysm's release, it was the age of consoles, where PS2 and XBOX emerges. It was a time where gaming community shifted to consoles as interest in PC gaming wanes. Nevertheless, PC remains viable for strategy game, but Cataclysm simply didn't stand a chance, since it was also the age where Blizzard's masterpiece came out, The World of Warcraft, which garnered critical reception. Combined with Cataclysm's plot that seems alien for those who haven't played previous homeworlds before, and slow-pace gameplay, it simply fades into obscurity. Only the first 2 homeworlds are remastered, since the source code for Cataclysm has been lost

YES INDEED TUBM is currently having difficulty in one of their ongoing KSP mission

Probably because the generation of gamers during Homeworld's release is prioritizing action instead of patience as a measure what constitutes as "fun gameplay". The slow pace, 3D mechanics and tricky interface did not endear it to the RTS community, who at the time were in the early stages of a long reign for the king of the fast-paced RTS, StarCraft. Though it lacked comparable staying power, the game became well-known thanks to its extremely pretty visuals that do stand the test of time and were remarkable for 1999, the haunting soundtrack and voice acting a level above the usual for video games at the time, a great story and gameplay that rewarded patience. I personally feel better in Homeworld compared to other RTS games. While I do play fast-paced RTS like Red Alert 2 and Starcraft series, I feel that Homeworld's slow pace is a merit on itself, since it actually allows me to plan better strategy during gameplay

Judging from your claim, it seems your center of mass is in front of center of lift, which makes your plane nose heavy. Activate center mass and lift layout on SPH, and make sure center of mass (yellow ball) just behind the center of lift (blue ball), either move the wings forward, adding more mass behind or adding more wings forward -
That's absolutely beautiful Engines and structural parts are from mk2 expansion and B9 aerospace: https://github.com/blowfishpro/B9-Aerospace/releases https://spacedock.info/mod/473/Mk2 Stockalike Expansion Wings are from OPT spaceplanes: https://spacedock.info/mod/1028/OPT Space Plane Cockpit are from AoA Technologies (A REALLY old mod) https://spacedock.info/mod/1116/AoA Technologies Tweakscaled to fit together

Yes, it's in vanilla (I didn't used any graphic mod). If you fly extremely low enough over the ocean at high speed, a water plume effect may occur, trailing behind your craft (I'm flying around 15-17m in that image) and it'll keep going as long as you're in level flight. The plume might look very far from my craft, but that's because I'm flying at mach 1.5. Not many has seen the water plume since in very low level flight, the one being noticed is usually the distance of your craft and the shadow below

Just updated my KSP to v1.7, and I'm testing a new aircraft High speed! Low-level flight at altitude less than 20m to test the steering sensitivity for precise maneuver As it streaks across the ocean, a trail of water plumes follows it's flight path I prefer Laythe 1b, and Jool2a

If I remember, back then I'm fiddling around with BDArmory mod, tweaking it and adding physic range extender, I made a design that utilized BDA's airborne laser to target the satellite that's on very low orbit... And I outfit those satellite with nuke cannon from NKD mod to retaliate back... With nuke shells from orbit (insert "nuke it from orbit" meme here) It doesn't work for a lot of reason, mainly because the range is so extreme that the compensation must be made against Kerbin's rotation. Even with nuke warhead's immense blast radius, it's very hard to hit KSC-sized target, much less a launch vehicle for A-SAT. The same could be said with ground laser. The orbital velocity of orbiting satellite is too fast to be tracked by laser emitter, leading to an inconsistent damage as the laser mount erratically tries to track the target

Yes, that one. If it isn't work well for rocket launch due to the performance issue, what's the advantage of using it on missiles compared with normal solid propellant? -

Is it possible to build a rocket engine (small size) using purely oxygen combustion? Aka the engine is powered by oxidation of oxygen which, after initial combustion on air will be self sustaining by continuous oxygen supply -
Ptichka, sister ship of Buran that never flew, 97% completed when the Buran programme ended Silbervogel, the suborbital bomber that's scrapped on planning stage because the designer underestimated the atmospheric heating Sonnengewehr, basically an orbital killer space station. With pumpkin farm as oxygen generators. The epitome of ridiculousness in space technology

Today's class is rather boring, so I drew something on my notebook I'm pretty sure you can guess the size of my drawing by using those notebook lines as scale

What Is Your Naming Theme For Your Spacecraft?
ARS replied to Hotdiggitydog's topic in KSP1 Discussion
2 words, one is associated with weather or space phenomenon, the other is anything, some of the name is: -Crimson Sunset superheavy passenger aircraft -Faraway Skies research aircraft -Starlight Dream high-speed SSTO -

Nah, nothing serious here. Just a pair of AIs that grows beyond their programming Though to be honest what was crossing in your mind when the last 3 questions that I ask is about unauthorized space launch, heaviest possible payload to orbit and deorbiting Phobos? -

How much Delta-V needed to change the orbit of Phobos into suborbital trajectory (or at least aerobraking altitude) on Mars? -

What about non-crewed, non-propellant payload? Like satellites, probes or space station parts?
