  1. "I probably have enough fuel to do the mission." -me "Dang it, ran out of fuel." -also me
  2. When your favorite game is rocket science. (I'm sure that this has been mentioned before, but IDC.)
  3. The rescue mission crash lands and loses its engine. And only it's engine. i launch a rescue mission to rescue the rescue mission. And Burberry, of course.
  4. @Soda Popinski's turn is up. It is @HiThere!2's turn!
  5. "Humans of Kerbin, I now stand-" "Nope!" Also: DUNNNN DUNNNNN DUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. You forget to open the solar panels. I launch the X-2 deep space shuttle based on Mission: Space in EPCOT center, Walt Disney World.
  7. "Crap, it's too aerodynamically stable, I can barely change direction. I'll just have to land at 200m/s since that's the speed I have enough control at. *crashes, crew capsule only surviving part*. Well, that went well!" -me.
  8. Man I haven't commented here in a while. @DeltaDizzy
  9. Ok. I'll guarantee you that the end of the list won't go by next Friday, because it never moves that fast. I'll just use the new skip list for that, and see how it goes.
  10. Ok then. @Soda Popinski is up! Random idea: I'm going to create a "skipped" list, so we remember who's been skipped so they can take their turn when they are available. Edit: random comment, but @Combatsmithen is in my phone's autocorrect list for some reason, and my username is not. Edit 2: found workaround for my username! probably no one cares!
  11. @Combatsmithen has two days left. If the missing station is not back in orbit by my turn, then I'll put it in orbit. I'll just need the craft file.
  12. Any one of my early reentries with my Shuttle Columbia. It was designed to be able to maneuver well at full fuel, including the 4 mk3 monoprop tanks at the nose. It also weighed almost 100 tons fully fueled. I would nearly overheat the crew compartment on any reentry before I decided to attempt shorter reentries at a higher Δv cost. During some reentries, I would lose control due to a lack of aerodynamic stability, and I would use the main engines to stop the spinning and regain airspeed before hitting the ground. On one or two missions I would do this twice. I later redesigned the shuttle. There's also part of my latest shuttle, the manned booster Spirit, which was initially perfectly aerodynamically stable, where it could easily land. It needed more fuel so Opportunity(orbiter) could reach orbit, so I added another fuel tank to it's nose to increase it's fuel load to 150%. This made it extremely stable, and very hard to turn. I went for a landing anyway, and had to come in at 200m/s so it wouldn't nose down too hard. It immediately lost the right engine pod and landing gear, but because the brakes were already set, it was staying on its wheels. Until it lost enough speed to have the tail fall and hit the runway, where the entire craft was immediately destroyed, except the cockpit and front landing gear. This bounced, then rolled because I tried to correct the roll problem, but hit the wrong key, bounced again, and bounced to a stop and fell on its back.
  13. Let's see... I've got an ISRU rover, a pure electric rover, 2 Mach 3.5 capable airplanes(seat 4 each), and an early version of Columbia... I'm more likely to die from my poor piloting and design than from a zombie. I could attempt to head to the ISS using my shuttle, though I don't think it's capable of getting to orbit of Earth. I could also exterminate the zombies using the basically infinite fuel I have from an ISRU, though that requires the refueling plane to be attached to the rover because it doesn't have LF storage onboard(it uses monoprop thrusters). I think I'll survive just fine, so long as someone else doesn't accidentally destroy me.
  14. I'll allow you to use the debug menu or paste it in from another save file.
  15. Your time is up @HamnavoePer. @Combatsmithen Is up.
  16. Because the new thread was being created, I decided I needed to mark the occasion somehow. My idea: build another shuttle! Meet the Curiosity Shuttle Pair: Spirit(manned reusable booster, fully stock) and Opportunity(Orbiter, highly modded) https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B0eMT8zRijNmQW1vdkVfUDNQTUk 1 note: I did get it to orbit on it's own, but then as I was trying to recover the parts FMRS glitched and made the main mission be mid launch as opposed to in orbit. I decided to place it back in orbit using the debug menu(Delta V is very tight with the 40 ton fuel pod, which made me very frustrated with my repeated piloting failures), and manually edit the fuel amounts to equal what I had after the successful launch. I got the fuel pod into orbit and landed Opportunity, though I undershot the KSC by a lot because the L/D ratio is apparently a lot worse than my other shuttles. 2 note: Spirit had two landings because FMRS didn't register the command pod as a successful recovery.
