Envy. So much envy right now.

Enough. What color is the sky?

After all, one out of 653 Sparks failing is better than one out of 4 (or so?) Mainsails failing.

When you think some lights look like rocket engines... Help. -
Constantly changing. When can you see the ISS?

Timewarp? Although, timewarp might be justified by impatience (or risk of death on the way). After all, in RO I wouldn't want to wait years in real time per mission as well. -

Good idea, but I wouldn't want to wait more than 16 minutes at worst just for something to happen. -
When were they not serious with something?

I had roughly the same problem. I was frustrated because no design I tried worked. Then something clicked and now I have a working 2.5m rocket that doubles as an SSTO if the payload is light enough (a mun lander unfortunately isn't). The Mainsail can push ~104t before TWR drops below 1.3. Basically if that's your rocket's weight, and a clear majority of that weight is the first stage, then you're good. There are probably lots of more efficient ways of building a 2.5m rocket, but this works well enough for me.

Granted? I wish for this wish to not be granted.
-
I wish people wouldn't forget to make a new wish to corrupt.
-
It will make spotting the ISS a lot more boring, though. Instead you constantly see some satellite fly past.
-
What's their combined thrust?
-
Granted, but it's an entire new standard, so you need completely new hardware. I wish gravity was inversely proportonal to the cube of the distance, not the square.

I have a Falcon 9-like lifter than, when the total mass is <100t, can be fully recovered (except for the fairings) while being an SSTO. The second stage is the payload. I could almost recover my lifter with it's maximum weight of ~104t, but it would lose SSTO capability, so I'd have to land it on the other side of Kerbin somewhere. I could probably just make a Falcon Heavy-like lifter out of it, though.

Religion interfering with people's lifes... yet again. -
Decided to change the crew on my Minmus Station again: And while leaving Minmus' SOI to get back to Kerbin, I had this rare event happening: And I also did minor course corrections on my interplanetary satellite going to Jool. The ~94m/s plane change was done easily using ion engines, but I already realized how weak solar panels become at larger distances.

Oh really? What is pulling spacecraft towards the center of the runway then? Kerbin must be curved!

Moreover, when you look at their trajectory visualization for a split second and immediately think "Hey, I know this from KSP!" -
I'm going to start anew for 1.4 considering it's quite a game changer with the new parts and parachutes and all that (for me at least). I'm considering the Science mode instead of career this time because I realized I'm to "forced" to do contracts in career. I want to do my own missions without having to worry about time or money. What do you think of that? Is it worth it?

I tweaked my shuttle's boosters a bit and managed to get a successful liftoff and a nice 85-86km orbit. I got out my payload (a fuselage with a docking port to dock to my space station) and docked. And I was really happy because it took less time than I expected... From here on out, everything went downhill. First off: I'm using a Klaw to rotate my payload into position (what's the maximum angle on that, by the way?). Putting it back into the cargo bay didn't work and it got stuck at roughly 45°. I managed to decouple the payload and pretend like I fixed it fix that and re-entered the atmosphere. The further I went down, the less stable the shuttle got. That's exactly the kind of behaviour I like on vessels with no parachutes. It inevitably ended in violent spinning and RUD when I gently touched the water at 80 m/s. I tried again and this time the command pod wasn't destroyed, so I was at least able to recover the crew. Turns out that the center of lift was in front of the center of mass by a lot. I redesigned the orbiter, so it now flies nicely with empty tanks and cargo bay. The launch vehicle was also redesigned so basically I'm back to square one. Well, at least I know it'll function correctly this time.

How much unburned fuel is inside a landed Falcon 9, by the way? Of course they probably burn as much as possible (and too much at least once), but how close do they actually get to "empty"?
-
When I draw rockets, it would be an insult against the space industry. That being said, what are good things a "beginner" could draw? I really want to become better (and by that I mean "good") at drawing.

Serious Scientific Answers to Absurd Hypothetical questions
Delay replied to DAL59's topic in Science & Spaceflight
What if you made a continuous ring of connected rockets all the way around Earth and ignite all engines at the same time? My guess is that they would immediately break apart because the circumference to cover has grown while the size/number of rockets has not. -
"Don't worry, everything's under control!" Apparently those were the last few words on the voice recorder.
