  1. How would EVAs work on small jets? I'm thinking of something like a Learjet here.
  2. Well, most of the time these statements are right. Not towards you, but in general.
  3. That is seriously one of the best things I've ever seen in Kerbal Space Program. How do you think of something like that and how does it work?
  4. To be honest I'd say the Kerbals talking in a mission would be rather distracting and annoying. At least I couldn't focus properly on what I want to do anymore.
  5. You can. Move your mouse to the upper edge in map view. You can actually disable the view on every marker, so you can also turn off asteroids, space stations, vessels, etc.
  6. Still occasionally snowing over here in (a part of) Europe (that got almost now snows during the entire winter). How is it anywhere else?
  7. Speaking of the Kraken: This monster denied my attempts at docking to my space station twice before finally letting me dock. It even destroyed one of my solar panels! This never happened in 1.3. But this is the first somewhat major bug I've discovered in 1.4.1.
  8. 43. Oh, and we had this discussion on the previous page already. Was quite funny.
  9. Don't worry. You can't be more unlucky than me. By the way: What's a "friend"? I hear it all the time, but don't know really know what it means.
  10. One thing I still don't like about the parachutes is that they slow down your vehicle ludicrously quickly. You open them and not even a second later, your vehicle slowed down from over 100m/s to 10m/s. I mean, it's better than they were in .18, but still ridiculous. Especially bad when you have Kerbal passouts enabled and do a tourist contract; these tourists hold anything but a lot of gs. And the personal parachutes for the Kerbals now behave the same way as the "real" parachutes in .18. They instantly slow the Kerbal down. Fortunately there don't seem to be passouts while in EVA.
  11. banned for arbitrary reasons.
  12. It says "on what day were the survivors killed during the sinking of the ship?". If they were killed during the sinking, they wouldn't have survived it. Or I'm working with a wrong definition here and "survivor" has an additional, completely different meaning I don't know of.
  13. They weren't killed at all; otherwise they wouldn't be survivors.
  14. The spark, in combination with a toroidal tank "doughnut", is a nice engine to power size 1 rockets. It's a light, efficient engine, with more dV despite lower Isp due to its lower mass, and has enough thrust to be used on landers for the Mun, Minmus and any other planet or moon with similar gravity.
  15. Here's another thing I've noticed: Whenever I enter the main menu via game startup or exiting to main menu, or whenever I close the game through said menu, there is a massive, multiple seconds long freeze. I'm essentially looking at the same frame for multiple seconds without being able to do anything. The entire menu theme played through before I got that back. I never encountered this in 1.3.1, does that happen to anyone else as well?
  16. Is there a way to use fairings to cover up the black-white color design of the tanks?
  17. The docking vessel has a priority of 10; I left it at default. I put my station into orbit when 1.4 wasn't out yet, so it doesn't have this feature.
  18. I had my first real hour of 1.4.1 gameplay today. Here are some things I've noticed/want to give feedback about (not ordered in any way): As basically everyone has already seen, the reentry effects are kinda broken. The game FPS are more consistent throughout situations, but are lower than 1.3.1 almost everywhere. It would be good to make the black lines of the 2.5m tanks thicker so that they match the ones of the Twin-Boar engine. I would also like to see a white version of all 2.5m tanks in the game. I'm not a fan of the black lines for my upper stage, as seen in my most recent "What did you do..." post. The decouplers are really nice. They are small and don't disrupt the coloring of rockets like they used to . However, they are a little hard to spot for the same reason. (I still prefer them over the old ones). I'm also a huge fan of the new Mk 1-3 capsule. The fact that it has RCS thrusters built in can surely be helpful in some situations. Space stations don't return to their original name once I undocked my vessel from it. It still had the vessel name afterwards and was also marked as a vessel instead of a station, both had to be manually corrected. Has something changed about the way markers like Ap, Pe, AN, DN are drawn on the screen? Their movements are really stuttery now, I can't remember then being this way in 1.3.1 The new "Launch Sites" markers are moving a bit delayed. Try quickly moving your camera in map mode. While we're at it, the same marker seems to be dependent of vessels movement in some way. Whenever I rotated the ship around the navball I always noticed the marker "shaking" around the map instead of staying were it's supposed to be. Other markers are completely unaffected by this, strangely.
  19. I accidentally killed my first three kerbals after an almost successful mission... But first: the mission itself was perfectly fine. I launched a mission to my LKO space station using my FALCON launch vehicle. As expected, I was able to land close to KSC. As unexpected, I succeeded first try: I then brought my orbiter close to the small station that I never bothered expanding... Then I looked at the amount of fuel I had in that one 2.5m tank. Since FALCON is an SSTO I used almost no fuel in the second stage. Doing the dV calculations I found out that I had over 2600m/s in the tank. I decided to expand the mission beyond its original goal: Let's go to Minmus! The Mun was in a lucky position, so I used a gravity assist to get me there. I originally wanted to also dock to my station around Minmus, but after adjusting my orbit with a (still planned at this point) plane change I quickly threw that idea out the window. Look at this! A triple gravity assist with a (almost) free return to Kerbin? Yes please! Goodbye Kerbin! See you in 16 days! Almost at the end of this (tragic?) mission. One last fly-by of the Mun: And then, reentry started. Until this point, everything was just as you could expect. Well, except for the reentry effects, but I managed to take a good picture. During reentry, the vessel (still with attached tanks) got unstable and started pointing forwards. I decoupled the stage, and then I realized my mistake that could have been so easily avoided if had bothered to pay attention... The decoupler was the last stage. I forgot the parachute.
  20. Yes, I'm currently waiting for a launch window! The user below me is currently just came back from work.
  21. It's even somewhat mobile, just be care with your airspeed!
  22. 22/7? 355/113 is much better!
  23. @sevenperforceHaha! Well, I am a science fan, not a scientist, so this is accurate.
