  1. It wouldnt have been too hard to do it without clipping honestly, but I did it in the interest of not roasting Raymy on a spit. The SAS wheel was actually strong enough to stop it from flipping. Also I believe you have linked the entry for Phi to the wrong forum post in this thread; it leads to @mystifeid rather than mine!
  2. I have decided to have another go with this challenge, this time with the sequel to the Upsilon. I present to you, the Phi: This vessel originally costs 6,345, but 2861 were recovered, leaving a total of 3484 and has a total dv of 3315 m/s in atmo (but around 7000 in vaccum). It also houses a thermometer and has only 10 parts. The battery and solar panel exploded during entry but I think that is fine, as the rest of the vessel survived (this means that the descent angle and the survival of my kerbal was incredibly hard, as there was no SAS control left). What I believe distingushes this mission from others is the fact that I have managed to land the craft on the Mun and then return the Kerbal and (some) of the craft back to Kerbin. Attached below is the gallery for the entire launch and the mission report. https://imgur.com/a/Om4DiOI I would also like to thank @Chequers for the awesome challenge that he has put forward. This is the first time I have had fun in one.
  3. Well i mean @Pro100kerbonaut’s design already uses the seat, so it is too late for that now.
  4. I just landed on the mun, will update you later (imgur takes ages)
  5. No i mean does the kerbal count as a seperate part?
  6. Has anyone actually attempted a landing on another body? That is massively difficult
  7. Hey @Chequers, does a Kerbal in an EVA seat count as a seperate part, because if it doesn’t, get ready for one of my most insane creations yet
  8. This is awesome, but I’m pretty sure a part of the vessel is supposed to survive. Please do not take any offense!
  9. Try angling the blades along their longest axis if you already haven't. That may provide more lift, depending on the angle of the blades.
  10. As I have already said A COUPLE OF TIMES NOW, adding a toggle is too intensive, and the manpower and licensing stuff would be just too hard..
  11. Is it at all possible to get the 4K resolution textures? I think it might be too stressing for my computer to have such large resolutions!
  12. Yeah, I called it Upsilon! It is a very unimaginative name because i was counting down the greek alphabet in my career save
  13. Hello! I have completed this challenge, after hours of thought (literally). The vessel itself cost 5650, but i reobtained 1658, leaving me with 3992. Moreover, the vessel is: 1. completely stock (i have mods, but I only used stock parts, such as restock (which only changes styling)) 2. 9 parts only 3. completed a flyby of the mun 4. has a barometer (although I could have strapped a thermometer on as well, oh well) 5. some survived the launch. The vessel is two stages, as shown in the album, but it has no decouples. This was achieved by setting the top tanks to have lower priority so that when the bottom tanks ran out, the terrier engine would blow the bottom fuel tanks away. However, i forgot to take images of the separation. As for the atmospheric delta v, that is somewhat difficult, as it does not have decouplers. However, the top stage has 930m/s of atmospheric delta v while the bottom stage, with the top fuel tank "blocked" has a delta v of 1346m/s. This gives a total atmo delta v of 1346 + 930 = 2276 m/s https://imgur.com/a/TTBfssS
  14. I would say so. Nothing forbids it...
  15. That is true... i think a normal rocket with staging is fine though.
  16. 5000 for an SSTO seems awfully small...
  17. Not my entry, but this is ABSOLUTELY awesome!!
  18. Sure breaking ground works but that is not an excuse for the fact that we absolutely definitely need bigger landing gear to (comfortably) land booster or massive landers.
