I think we are getting a little off topic here. Honestly, if this is going to devolve into thread about realism features, just create another thread.

I can see that, but why call it a massive update? Sounds to me like a whole update will just be based on the multiplayer which I take as it wont be at launch, but will get added in later down the road.
I would love to have working multiplayer st launch, but if they need to put it on the back burner until after launch, that's fine by me.
I'd rather have a working multiplayer than a multiplayer that got no love and needs constant hotfixes or a big huge update to make it fun/playable.
Yes, but if what your saying is true, wouldn't squad and star theory say something to that effect in other places like the FAQ?
An all-new architecture underlies Kerbal Space Program 2, enabling increased moddability and the long-awaited arrival of multiplayer. We look forward to revealing more about the ways you'll share your Kerbal journey with friends at a later time.
Yes! In our interview with Star Theory, creative director Nate Simpson explained that—while they weren't ready to provide any actual details about how multiplayer would work—"it is true to the spirit of the original Kerbal Space Program". (https://www.pcgamer.com/kerbal-space-program-2-release-date-multiplayer-everything-we-know/)
as well as deliver on the long-requested addition of multiplayer (https://www.kerbalspaceprogram.com/game/kerbal-space-program-2/)
Nowhere does it say it will be added in second update. Then again, it could have been originally wanted to be added in, but now it will be added in a later update, but why a change this late in the game?

Sounds to me more like the feature will be added in a future update to KSP 2.
I think it's a matter of interpretation. Perhaps what he means is that multiplayer will be added into the stock game, but more features will be added in a future update.
-
That's how I felt about the 1.0 trailer.
(shudders)
-
I think it added in as an option, because that would please players like me who use life support, but not frustrate people that don't use it.
-
I think that if weapons were added to multiplayer, that would make the problem of griefing 100 times worse.
-
I think to start, a LKO orbit to launch vessels without having to even launch them from KSC, than Mun or minmus colony to sort of Demo it, then branching out to Duna and Eve, then maybe a Jool drydock (like in the trailer) so you can launch spacecraft out to other star systems easier, maybe on Laythe too.
-
I have also seen some kind of Magnetoplasmadynamic thruster in the trailer, (maybe) you can see it at 0:23

I've decided to make a list of propulsion systems that were either shown in trailers, gameplay footage or were talked about by the devs along with corresponding sources.
Those are the new propulsion systems we can expect to see in the game:
- Nuclear pulse drive (Project Orion) shown in the trailer
- Inertial confinement fusion drive (Project Daedalus) shown in the trailer
- Metallic hydrogen rockets mentioned by Nate Simpson in an interview with IGN
Feel to suggest new additions (provided you have a source)
I think there is some kind of " Krepstien" Drive (a refrence to the epstien drives of The Expance) shown at https://www.videogameschronicle.com/features/interviews/an-in-depth-conversation-with-the-creator-of-ksp2/
Plus, in the interview, they said this:
"But there are some others in there that nobody has identified yet!"

Mun space return cannon:
Using the orion drive to wack kerbals that you left stranded on the Mun, or to return kerbals from your mun base! -

Well, they say we're going have to bring supplies from Kerbin until the colony could become self-sufficient.
My question is, can the landing pads/launch pads refuel rockets that land on them.Perhaps. We know nothing about it though, you're probably going to have to wait until we get more information

I just had a thought... will we get on pad refueling? Especially on colony pads? In the trailer, they show us landing on a pad at the end. Now, this is obviously meant to be a reusable craft as it does having landing legs. So, is it too far of a stretch to say they will give us on pad refueling? Or will we have to recover the vessel then relaunch it up to the colony/resupply ship?
I think you can launch stuff from colonies like in extrasolar launchpads, (in the trailer you can see two rockets launching coming from the two colonies), but the craft also looked like it was some kind of supply craft, so maybe you have to shuttle in supplies from other places?

Could be what you said..Witch i would love it!
Or the most probable thing...
Early sunflare testing
You're probably right.

If it was a binary, I would expect the planets to all still orbit one sun, with the whole system binary with some other star with a very long period.
That is what I meant.

I was watching the KSP2 IGN interview, and they were showing the pre-alpa footage of KSP2, and I noticed this.
You see it yet?
Well, let me show you.
I don't know what this could be. Maybe I'm just wrong and it is part of the visual effects. But I have seen it in other places too, so can somebody explain to me what this is?
-
maybe it could be some kind of in-game texture replacer?

I thought the sun was called kerbol in this version also?! Why would anyone care?
For some reason in 1.3, it was changed from kerbol to "the sun". Kerbol is only a name made by the KSP fanbase.
-
That would be interesting.
-
But then there are also some parts that look like they are from making history, in the trailer, at 1:17 in the trailer, you can see that some of the parts in that ship look a lot like the Making history black-and-white variant of the jumbo-64 fuel tank, (although this might be a scaled down version of the 3.75 large tank)
-
You know, the KSC in KSP2 is reminiscent of the space center in 0.7.3, with the forests, and swamps...
-
I would like just flat kopernicus rings, but maybe with a couple of small asteroids sprinkled in it.
-
By General relativity, do you mean N-body physics?
-
Personally, I am not enthralled with multiplayer but here is what I think multiplayer should be like.
1. The ability to choose a single player world
2. Measures to prevent griefing or accidental destruction of ships
3. Some Servers should have requirements about mods, because what if someone has a part mod installed that nobody else has, there ship would not be loaded at all, so there should be a notice saying stock only, or these mods only.
4. Maybe some kind of chat so that players can communicate without having to own a microphone or use social media.

I'm thinking it would be an option, not a requirement. Far be it from me to take away someone else's grindy fun!
I agree.
