Instead of carrying it's own RCS Fuel, the TSM-2 has it's own tug to dock it, and will be disposed of later.

  6. 4 hours ago, fulgur said:

Since you have Woomerang as your launch site, are you going to do a plane change every orbit? Or are you going to wait until Woomerang is under Terra Station and launch then?

Yeah, I'll wait until the inclination relative to Terra Station is 0 degrees so I don't have to do a huge plane change.

Anyway, my Idea for the launchers are for them to evolve as I progress. For example in Phase 2, The polaris will get upgraded to the Polaris II etc.

  7. Alright

  8. Welcome to the Mir Challenge.

The goal of this challenge is straight forward. Build a replica of Mir using stock parts.

    Mir insignia.svg

    Rules:

    DLCs are allowed

    No part mods allowed.

KER and Mechjeb are allowed, but you can't use the autopilot for any part of the mission.

    No cheating or hyperedit.

Modules and launchers must be of your own design.

    Launch Order:

Mir Core Module: 1986 Proton K

    Kvant-1: 1987 Proton K

    Kvant-2:  1989 Proton K

    Kristall: 1990 Proton K

    Spektr: 1995 Proton K

    Docking Module: 1995 Space Shuttle

    Priroda: 1995 Proton K

    Modes:

Easiest Mode: Build Mir, modules can be constructed in any order, any orbit, and can be launched in anyway you want.

Easy Mode: Build Mir but modules need to be built in the order they were in real life. Yourr space station can be in any orbit,, and can be launched in anyway you want.

Normal Mode: Build Mir, in the correct order as in real life, but with the rockets that launched the modules, as in the Proton and the Space Shuttle. Can be in any orbit you want.

Pro Mode: Build Mir, in the correct order as in real life, using replicas of the rockets that launched the modules, as in the Proton and the Space Shuttle, but needs to be in the same orbit as Mir. (Orbital Specs: Ap: 370-380 km Pe: 350-360 km Inclination: 50-55 degrees).

    Bonus Missions:

STS-63: Fly your replica space shuttle to within 11 meters of your space station.

Buran: Build a replica of Buran, and fly it to orbit and back.

Salyut: Build a replica of Salyut 7, the last space station before Mir.

    Badges coming soon!

  9. Alright, here is my plan for the Kerbol System:

    Kerbin:

Terra Station (a refueling depot for SSTO's (my ssto's are trash)

Mun: Selene Station Refueling Depot (Refueling Depot), Artemis Mun Base (To facilitate Selene Station, and for... reasons)

    Minmus: (Polaris 3)

Duna: Ares Station, Ares Base (To investigate the Face on Duna, never been there) Ike: Ike outpost.

    Eve: Surveyor

    Moho: Surveyor

    Dres: Surveyor

    Laythe: Laythe Colony.

  10. The final test launch of the Polaris. Polaris Test #2 will take a dummy capsule to orbit and back. I based the booster after the soyuz, simply because I think it looks cool.

  11. It has been 57 years since Jebediah flew his first rocket from his island space center. The Official Kerbal Space Program's glory days are over. After the failure of Ares 1, Kerbin's first interplanetary ship, the OKSP's public influence waned. Compounding the problem, The Kerbin Federation needed to deal with internal problems of it's own, starving the OKSP of funding. The organization became defunct, and for 45 long years, not a single rocket was launched.

This is my program to settle kerbals on laythe: the Polaris Initiative.

    Spoiler

    Timeline:

    Phase 1:

    Polaris Test #1

    Polaris Test #2

    TSM-1 Core Module

    Polaris 1: Extension Module #1

    Polaris 2: Extension Module #2

    Polaris 3: Extension Module #3

    TSM-2: Zero G Lab

    Rigel Test #1

    Rigel Test #2

    Outlook Station Core

    Rigel Crew Transfer 1

    Outlook Station Fuel Tank 1-6

    Short Term Habitation Module

    Phase 2:

    CLPJq1q.png

Unfortunately, the KSC was re bought by the millitary, so all the Polaris Initiative was able to acquire was Woomerang.

  12. All right, I am going to try doing STS 3. But do that, I need to completely redesign my shuttle.

This is my original design. I enlarged the cargo bay and built a bigger booster. I call this Adventure 0.1

    YbDtFpE.png

I didn't have enough fuel though. So, MOAR Boosers! Adventure 0.2

    ly7DzE6.png

This one still succeded, but before reentry I realised that the control surfaces on the left wing were gone. I couldn't control it, and it splashed down in the sea, but luckily, the pod survived.

So I completely rebuilt the shuttle from the ground up. I built the Adventure 1.0!

    nTcOGUY.png

    Side view.

    ltxhKkD.png

After mishaps with the fuel routing, I produced the first test flight of the Adventure 1.0!

    V90mJYO.png

This mission carried a full Jumbo-64 orange tank as a dummy payload.

    LknLAXk.png

    70vGFZe.png

    Tank is still full.

    7JkMQ7E.png

And after a harrowing landing, they landed! This isn't the final design though, I picked a too agressive descent profile and destroyed the nosecone. It also dosen't pitch enough, I'll add bigger canards later.

Mods used: Procedural Wings, Atomic Age, ScifiVisualEnhancements, Flare replacer, Planetshine and Distant Object Enhancements.
