  1. It should start with this:
  2. You should probably add a Launch Escape System requirement, and/or a free return trajectory.
  3. Hacking, emps, electron beams. Also, speed delay. You'd want a heavily guarded mothership, with automated carriers and drones.
  4. What if its 7 meters, and very tall? Or three first stages strapped together?
  5. That's something the expanse gets right- decks are perpendicular to acceleration.
  6. Well, if one of their astronauts is injured, they can rebuild him stronger.
  7. Me too! In mine, space is utopian, but unlike Elysium, it is not just for the rich, but earth is in a cold war between three empires. The technology level for space travel is better than today, but not nearly like in the expanse. There are nuclear gas core engines, where a plasma vortex of uranium hexafloride is used to expel hydrogen with 5000 isp(I've been using project rho a lot(thanks @nyrath)). There are M.O.O.S.E.S. Using googles NGRAM search, I also learned my book is the first to use the word "ullage". I'm not going to say any plot details.
  8. @sevenperforce, I know this is stock parts, but I strongly recommend the nonpart mod FMRS, so you can do F9 booster recoveries.
  9. Who'll be a Rocketman then?.. (not politics) Space Force
  10. How about... the Asymptote Ares Asimov Clarke Yes! I was actually just about to post that! Name the BFR the Hawkings.
  11. If the giant 5 engine rocket is the Saturn V, the giant 7 engine rocket would be the Neptune VII. Eh.
  12. Tweakscale. The 30 km version would crash it, but a 1/10th scale craft is definitely possible. With mods, you could do it with maybe 200 parts. Proof that large craft work in ksp.
  13. Are you going to include DLC parts, or are you staying stock for the challenge?
  14. The Archaeopteryx because its the first real spaceship that can do multiple missions of different types.
  15. *goes back to main page* *scrolls down* wait a second...
  16. Obvious and long overdue choice: Robert Zubrin. He'd get them to Mars in a few years.
