I like it for the parts/launch site... that is about it. I can buy Rome a Total War I Alexander Total war and Barbarian invasion total war for $10. I do not think that this was worth the price of an older game. It's worth it Maby $8 or $10 but $15 for MOAR PARTS. Ehh. For me it's really the launch sites. I wish that Development time on mission builder went into more immersive features such as clouds each engine having a vacuumn variant and being more or less efficient at altitudes.

Editor to make mods

The idea is good, the implemention would be difficult. -
First where do I download real solar system and it is playable with 1.4. Last time I checked curseforge it was 1.2

Time for KSP 2.0
Cheif Operations Director replied to Dicapitano's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I do not want to pay again! Why 2.0 when we can just get it in a DLC and keep our saves and not have to pay again and then we still get updates. Honestly this is like SW battlefront HOW MANY DO WE NEED? I would pay for this stuff but I'm not going to fly around and re-establish All my space stations. We spend a ton of time doing these stuff why do it again for things that can be in DLC. Plus the new features are DLC but the optimazation always happens either way. -

Jool is also a good place My main reason I want these is so I can create science ballons and airborne airports on eve -
Balloon into orbit

Indeed the only stipulation would be that the ballons would "float" one the pressure is equal. I would not want them to pop on me -
What did you do in KSP1 today?

What mods? -
It would be AWESOME if we had to design aerodynamic rockets. Of course this could be turned on an off (similarly to reentry heating) but I would like it if instead of a rocket flipping our of control it instead started experiencing pogo and vibrating Maby even a vibration gauge similar to the G-Force gauge. Of it gets to high the parts producing the most drag will fall off first and then if it gets really bad the rocket will explode with all the parts separating and 0.5 seconds later exploding with them all emitting a trail (like from a rocket engine). Eccentially something like this. This would add a level of immersion into the game. If your thing is big boosters a MOAR engines, turn it off. If you want to have to design an aerodynamic rocket turn it on and do your job as a Kerbal should! P.S. I know vibrations did not cause this explosion. I also kno that the kraken simulates this but that can be caused with a lack of struts. I'm looking specially at a perfectly good rocket on a structal level failing because of a misplaced fuel tank

Balloon into orbit

A jet engine the outside air to combust yes? This requires oxygen if eve or etc has none then their is no way for a jet engine to work on eve. It needs its own oxidezer hence it is a rocket engine. Open-cycle rocket engines do exist they are called turbopumps like the Merlin. A Raptor SpaceX engine is closed cycle. a jet engine could only work if they brought the oxidiser along and the atmosphere would be the fuel other than that a jet can not work in these environments. -

I concur but ballons should be at the end of the tree A jet engine that works without an oxygen atmosphere is just a rocket engine -

I wonder if you could create a lighter material than hydrogen seeing as protons neutrons and electrons are all made of smaller particles, -
Balloon into orbit
Cheif Operations Director replied to Cassel's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
We could actually do that. Jools atmosphere is thick if I'm not mistaken meaning the ballons would be buoyant. Hence the city would be very close to the top of the atmosphere. This would allow for a ton of solar panels and also the floor of the city to be made out of xenon fuel tanks. Then just a bunch of ion engines. All you would need is a refuel about once every 100 years and given the fact that it may be better (for science purposes) to just relaunch the craft and gather the science while in burns up We could have MASSIVE cities if done right floating around on eve and jool. -

You could bring them as an inflatable module like the airlock. Then bring them to other planets. Then you could have weather ballons on jool or a floating station in jools atmosphere. Pull a bespin You may need to bring 100 balloons but it's worth it for a floating city -

Fair enough. My point as to lifting smaller relays and science ballons still stands [snip] -

As I've stated you strapping ballons to a rocket such as the Saturn V would save Delta V -

Stalling moar boosters to a rocket is also not useful in the real world -
Balloon into orbit
Cheif Operations Director replied to Cassel's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Like I said strapping a few to a Saturn V now all of a sudden we have 2000 or m/s of delta V -

Ad hominem (Latin for "to the man" or "to the person"[1]), short for argumentum ad hominem, is a fallacious argumentative strategy whereby genuine discussion of the topic at hand is avoided by instead attacking the character, motive, or other attribute of the person making the argument, or persons associated with the argument, rather than attacking the substance of the argument itself. -Wikipedia How about do actually address what I'm suggesting.. For you or me to make a suggestion in this thread does not mean that you are master computer programmer with 60 years of a coding experiance. It means you are a owner of KSP and want to it succeed and have an interest in the game. I think that we can discuss the Actual suggestion better than make Ad Hominem attacks because I'm not a "master programmer". Nor was I acting like an expert -

Balloon into orbit
Cheif Operations Director replied to Cassel's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Ok let me rephrase this. I've done some programming before some true-false but I despise it. It's not like your adding a new physics system! It's a balloon. It goes up. It does not go down unless popped. It's not rocket science! -

Fair point, all I'm saying is that It is not the most difficult thing in the world
