  1. How does this work? Does it spawn in when the node is connected to something, or use a mesh switch button?
  2. I just installed the previous version to try it in 1.4.2. Boot it up, and I am asked if I want to update...
  3. Thank you for understanding. Frequently part packs work without being updated, so it's more a matter of isolating whether those parts are incompatible (and why, and whether it is because of a dependency or the pack itself) or if they are conflicting with another mod. That and some people figure out fixes before the mod author updates.
  4. I never said it was or that I did. I asked if anyone else is having the same issue.
  5. @Beale Nice update. Did you remove the "Космос" manufacturer name? I'm glad to see that, since it is hard to search for without Russian keyboard. Also excited to see you working on Energia (again ) - I use AB Launchers to this day. @T-10a If you want to see what Beale and others have done with it already, check this: Works just fine in 1.4.1 for me, and there are some patches in that thread to stock balance the engines if you like (I think they might be a bit overly inefficient otherwise).
  6. Another mod for the collection, eh? I swear you maintain half the mods I use. I commend you for your dedication.
  7. I assumed he meant because it isn't going to be updated for 1.4 - the author and others implied they are skipping to 1.4.1, and Kopernicus specifically is skipping to 1.4.1.
  8. Anyone else not seeing the vulture cockpit show up running 1.4.1? Also the counter rotating propeller.
  9. Makes sense for visual tracking, now that I think about it. You are awesome, sir.
  10. Since that bit isn't included on the other, I wonder if you could color it and still use the same texture sheet for the 0.9375... I use the 0.625 one all the time since it fits the tiny stock docking port - it's a lot easier to attach on a wide variety of craft than finding a 0.9375 node. My experiments with applying your orbital module texture to the cylinders seems to suggest that they share the texture with the spherical, so I think it might just be possible to use one sheet per color for all 4 modules - look at whatever is different between the taxi, pink, and 7k textures and the other colors - those are the ones that seem to work when applied to the cylinders without any sort of weirdness. The other colors only get applied to the window rim as is! Another question I had - is the third stage of the N1 supposed to be only half green? Love the life this mod adds to Tantares.
  11. Is that the only change for 1.1.1, fixing the engine? Something you may want to consider - you can switch the color of the Soyuz hab #1, why not apply it to the other orbital module? I did some tinkering and the textures work just fine for the other round one (save a strip of stock color at the top). Some of the colors also work on the cylindrical types too.
  12. I can't seem to get the center engine to switch colors. What's the reason for the naming? Do the Russians paint the Soyuz after fueling it up as a visual indicator? Edit: Oh, it's ice! Cool!
  13. Boston has the Museum of Science. Nearby is the campus of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which to my knowledge still keeps their doors open to the public - you can also find student led tours there, provided by both the university and outside companies I believe. So long as you aren't there at night, you can pretty much wander the campus on your own, save any locked doors or restricted areas, but many labs have windows adjoining the hallways, so you can get a look at what is being worked on. Among other things, their Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics has a compression space suit and a wind tunnel on site. The Dept. of Material Science has lots of labs off the main hallway of the main group buildings, and there is a glassblowing lab off the basement hallway. Oh, there is also a nuclear reactor on campus - you'd need a tour to get inside, but you can see the outside from Massachusetts Ave. Tons and tons of biomedical research goes on at the campus too, if that's your thing. Whatever you do, don't be afraid to look around there - nobody is going to run you off if you aren't causing trouble, and a lot of public areas look like they should be restricted because of the utilitarian feel of the place. For whatever reason, there are always some more obtrusive tour groups around who will literally take pictures of random students, and they put up with that just fine. If you talk to them instead of snapping pics most students who have a moment of free time are more than happy to tell you what they work on and where you can see it.
  14. Quite nice! I got the original a few weeks back, and I'm glad to see it get some love - very pretty.
  15. I must ask, why not? Unless it's prohibited by the mod's license - it's clear to me that you do this at your own risk, so why not allow people to share their tests and insights?
  16. Oh no, I understood that. I just mean that it isn't posting it to the forum that allows them to make their own content based on your idea, it's the law that generally allows this, whether your idea is posted here or not.
  17. Close, but not quite. Copyright law itself actually allows for this, because ideas aren't the copyrightable part of a work - the content is. I could develop my own game about little alien men building rockets, but that doesn't mean it infringes on Kerbal Space Program, unless I start using content from that game or replicate it to the degree that it is substantially similar. If I develop some mod parts, and T2 wants to make similar parts ... that's all good, unless they copy my designs exactly or near exactly. But I don't need to post the idea to the forum for them to be allowed to do that - they can do it regardless.
  18. @Cheif Operations Director - As to concerns about firewalls being compromised: If you don't think your firewall can adequately protect you, you could go the more extreme route of creating a new boot disk solely for KSP which you only load up when physically unplugged from the internet. I don't have the energy to explain that process at the moment, but I'm sure you can find what you need on a site similar to the one linked above, if you choose to go that route. (Look for 'dual booting' a computer - often used for two different operating systems, but no reason you can't do it with two of the same. You'll want to do it with an external hard drive or USB [if you can get one that will fit the OS and KSP on it] that can be disconnected when running the online OS, for added security.) Simply put it would be like having another computer without needing to have all of the additional hardware. No way for data to be mined through KSP if your ethernet cable isn't plugged in and you aren't connected to Wifi, and the data can't be sent when you reconnect because that virtual computer will never be booted (or even attached with external HD) while connected to the internet. I know this doesn't address the underlying philosophical issues you have with the Terms, but it would be the most foolproof practical solution to your concerns that I can offer.
  19. I believe in Windows you just open up Defender Firewall and create a new rule and block the program of choice from outbound connections.
  20. They can't if you configure your firewall. Edit: I don't like describing what T2 can do under the Terms as "rights". They have contractual permission sure, but rights are usually those inalienable things granted equally to everyone. Sure you can say it that way because the word has broad meaning, but don't forget those connotations. It reads in a fearmongering way.
  21. @Cheif Operations Director - this, a thousand times this. If you don't give them your information, how exactly are they going to get it? You point back to the agreement giving them permission to collect and store data, and that's all well and good, but the information has to come from you in the first place. They can't collect what they aren't given. If you have concerns about them mining the data without your knowledge, learn how to configure your firewall so any data collection associated with KSP is blocked.
  22. I've been trying to figure this one for ages! My fuel trucks thank you @Nils277!
  23. Under this interpretation, ownership still doesn't transfer - you are missing a key part of that clause. Loading content created outside the software into the software doesn't generate copyright interest. Putting a DVD in my player couldn't transfer the copyright to the DVD player manufacturer, even if they had such a EULA, because doing so does not add copyrightable content to already copyrighted content, and thus does not a derivative work create.
  24. You can grant as many licenses as you like! That's the whole point of license vs ownership. T2 would just have a beef with imgur if they tried to enforce the exclusive part.
