  1. No shown above is a new panel I made for BDB, though it takes a lot of inspiration from Benjee's habtech (especially in how to animate it).
  2. Ah yeah I have that one. I got the NERVA II diagrams from those docs. Its definitely an interesting one.
  3. I would second the above advice from Biohazard. That patch no longer exists but it might still be there from an older install. If this is not the case please post a couple of screenshots and your modulemanager log and configcache.
  4. . well if your persistent file got overwritten when you loaded initially with the update that would be broken for good. You need to load a save from before you opened with the new BDB. If you dont maintain backup saves manually see if theres a workable file in the auto Backup folder. eg: Kerbal Space Program/saves/mysavename/Backup
  5. Anyhoo, this prob could have made release if I weren't lazy. Will be putting this into a patch soonish. Available now in github Master (apollo-saturn dev is no longer in use). This adapter is using all existing SAF assets but is an SLA type module for the correct staging. The side panels need to be attached to the base just like the historical SLA. 1 variant to the panels is provided to allow for use on the 6.25m SII sized base as well. Demoed here with the Making Alternate History Altair/Artemis lander (no we're not making one ).
  6. Eh unlikely at this point. Its unfortunate that those were made before we went all in on interstages but Im not sure its feasible to convert now. Again too much work at this stage. If anything is done, it would be minor texture touch ups and thats it.
  7. The cylindrical big G service module will be revamped and possibly some Titan textures might get a slight touch up but thats it.
  8. Yeah re Atlas KSP2 is kind of looming but if I have time I certainly intend to go ahead with it. Immediate priority is Skylab phase 2, nuclear saturn stuff etc. We havent dug too deep into it yet but the current thinking for nuclear stages is to probably cherry pick from various proposals in order to come up with a part set that is useful to players. So large stack docking ports, lateral docking ports (to lash stages together in orbit), dedicated mounts etc. If that proposal is what I think it is it does actually cover most of that but we may look at more than one source. Regarding the actual interplanetary spacecraft thats still up for discussion. Before that we will prob have a little patch or two for the current release. One or two parts that got left behind might make it in Previews to come shortly.
  9. Yes thats right. And if you still have errors, specific craft file and missing part details will help trace the problem.
  10. Almost certainly yes as there are new parts with new names. Kerbalism support for BDB has always been provided on the Kerbalism side as its quite complex and none of us use it so you would need to check with them (or help them out with a PR )
  11. Craft files were created in KSP 1.12.3, the only version of KSP BDB now officially supports as KSP is now end of life and thats the latest update. If you want to use the craft files in older versions you will need to use a text editor and change the version in the file. If any saturn craft are missing specific parts please let me know the exact details. If its regarding fairings, make sure you have simple adjustable fairings installed.
  12. All major BDB updates are generally breaking changes as parts get replaced, this one even more so due to the number of parts being revamped. You can downgrade the BDB version in CKAN and reload the save, retire old craft and then upgrade again if you didnt want to start a new save. Edit: unfortunately there is no way to provide this warning via CKAN.
  13. Congratulations! You get a free copy of BDB https://github.com/CobaltWolf/Bluedog-Design-Bureau/tree/apollo-saturn-revamp
  14. early phase right now, but basically Nerva I and II are confirmed. Beyond that probably dedicated mounts for 6.25 and 4.25m tanks (we would presume to use the S4B or SII tankage), maybe large docking ports. We'll have to see.
  15. OH WAIT. I remember now there was also that problem with one of the SLAs, I think the one with the jettisonable panels which has excessive drag. I havent been able to figure out how to fix that with a custom drag cube so far. If you're using that please switch to the one with the attached hinged panels. edit: regardless PVG is generally still a better choice imo.
  16. from what I understand classic follows a fix flight path it aims for. While PVG actually reacts to the rocket performance and adjusts reactively to achieve the target orbit (once the dumb fixed pitch program is over and closed loop guidance takes over). I suppose there is a classic profile that would work for the Saturn I/IB but you need a lot of experimentation to shape it correctly.
  17. I would highly recommend using mechjeb Prime Vector Guidance instead of Classic Ascent profile to manage your launch. PVG is based on real world guidance algorithms and uses a fixed pitch program initially followed by a closed loop guidance phase (iirc originally based on published Atlas centaur guidance but since refined into its own thing.) Check the section I wrote on PVG in the wiki here including a dedicated section for Saturn IB. Make sure the SM is set to orbital config or it will be too heavy. Make sure to ditch the abort tower immediately after S4B staging as well. Saturn IB has been verified from equitorial launches (using the base engine configs) in JNSQ and Kennedy launches in KSRSS 2.5x using PVG. Re Saturn I and boiler plates I will try to test it today or tomorrow. https://github.com/friznit/Unofficial-BDB-Wiki/wiki/Launching-and-Trajectories With the current dev build I had verified these --IRL reference Apollo 7, 227x301km, 31.6deg Tested (orbits altitude above atmosphere is scaled for equivalency) - Orbital config Apollo to LKO, JNSQ - KSC 120x120km 0 deg - Orbital config Apollo to LKO, KSRSS 2.5x - Kennedy 128x146km 32 deg (TAC LS)
