Several parts in the saturn family (and maybe apollo) have new parts using the same part names as the old ones. Meaning plenty of crafts can break including vessels in flight if they use those same parts. Some parts might have disappeared entirely. All new skylab parts use new names and old parts are currently soft deprecated in an old parts folder to be deleted at a later date. But Apollo and Saturn stuff in the dev branch should be considered save breaking (in the sense that craft could be messed up or deleted). So long as nothing in flight uses old saturn or apollo parts you might be good to go but we dont make any guarantees on this front. The dev branch is all beta stuff so its at your own risk and you should make a backup save before you do so.

Lol no worries. Was just wondering if you had somehow missed out on the Timberwind engines. The NERVA engines will not match these for Isp of course being older rod core designs but we should be able to find a useful niche for them. Community Tech Tree or another tech tree to extend the nuclear branch would be recommended for decent tech balance as NERVA is older tech.

Havent gone too into depth into the stages yet to be honest and its not something I've researched before. If anyone has cool refs do send along. I couldn't find that one with a quick search. I've got some assorted stuff like this though: Got good dimensional refs for Nerva II incidentally but havent seen a flow diagram yet, prob easy enough to work out but would be great if anyone has seen one.

The ATM that got built for skylab seems a lot taller than the original proposals (and I think I mistakenly got the struts diameter slightly off anyways, they should contact the SLA where the legs do on the descent module). We dont have the nodes to allow it to be attached to an LM. The pic below is just through translation gizmo just to demonstrate. Even if we provided the appropriate nodes the Skylab ATM doesn't really work as you can see. So we need a dedicated LM ATM module with its own built in instruments with similar horizontal and vertical footprint to the LM Descent Module for it to work. The designs vary a lot in different pictures (and indeed some look taller than the pic below) but I'm leaning towards something like this.

The ATM was always a solar observatory. It will be a more limited set of experiments similar to Skylab ATM. For lunar mapping theres that proposal to put a KH7 in front of Apollo. Yup anything you come across on Astronautix MUST be verified elsewhere through primary sources or at least a more reliable one to be credible. The site isnt maintained anymore and even when it was it never cited its own sources.

Been away from the forums for a few days so missed some of the conversation. For Skylab stuff all the unchecked boxes in the issue are planned for the next update after the coming one. Basically EOSS, A proper shorter LM ATM, the 25kw Power Tower. Maybe the SII tether for the EOSS version that uses the SII as a counterweight. Not sure about that last one. https://github.com/CobaltWolf/Bluedog-Design-Bureau/issues/1059 We definitely want to work on Nuclear tugs, we can base it off of existing saturn tankage for some of the assets but we'll need to make new adapters, mounts, docking ports etc. Lots of exciting stuff. And for nuclear engines I want to get started to Nerva I & II soon. We've also got a bonus SIM bay item incoming, the SIM ATM

Let me check on this. Are you using any life support mods? The dry workshop electrical balance is the same as it was before so I hadnt thought to change anything but definitely worth a look. I'll check on this too but I dont think the hibernation EC usage is configurable anyway. Plus shouldn't you be kept charged up on the pad? Can you see if hibernation is working on any probe cores, stock or BDB in your game? I'll take a look sometime soon as well. Its revealed finally . Still in early testing and balancing phase but very exciting and v high quality. Screenshots above by the mod author @mcdouble

We have a SII to 5m adapter which should work well enough I think. The J2X designation was used for a number of extended bell J2 improvement proposals at Rocketdyne decades before constellation. They had to be creative since this was before simple carbon carbon extensions became available. While designs like the XLR129 used fully regen extensions, Rocketdyne looked at a number of different options of which we thought the airmat inflatable nozzle extension was the coolest. You might call this the real J2X. Thats out of scope for us. But Im aware of a project by a couple of people that might be very interesting I cant say much or who since they haven't announced it publicly but hopefully that could see the light of day sometime.

We have no interest in shuttle derived parts as there are plenty of other mods that take care of this stuff brilliantly. Cobalt only did the F1B since its a direct derivative of an existing thing we have and he was able to reuse most of the powerhead. As mentioned above the J2X (constellation era) is a brand new engine that has little in common with the original J2. For Rs25 you should look at what @EStreetRockets is doing with RMM For shuttle to skylab adapter yes that indeed is planned for the next phase. We have benjees APAS 89/95 model and Invader is working on APAS 75 so you have a choice of docking port. The adapter will be coming along with the 25kw Power Module parts. So the extension to the MDA that you see there will be made with the power tower. re: white skylab im not planning on that presently. Perhaps someone might do a variant eventually.
