Well....not to ask an insulting question, because it sounds like you have a relatively advanced understanding of ship design and launching technique....but Are you also keeping your thrust to weight ratio under 2 during the lower atmosphere? I usually try to limit the throttle on my SRBs in the VAB to like 1.5 for the TWR at least until they are beyond severe atmospheric resistance....so stuff doesn't shake violently or heat up excessively.... I figure you are doing that as well, but you never know until you ask....

I saw that bit at the end there with the textures increasing to infinity with GPP.....that's why I figured something was off....I don't fully understand logs though, so it's good you are getting better assistance.... Cheescake said to try uninstalling and reinstalling them...I don't know that completely uninstalling them and not replacing them is good to do in an already in progress game.... Also probably dependancies are important too like modular flight integrator. I don’t really know exactly what it does, but I know Kopernicus requires it. Not sure what it does if Kopernicus is uninstalled though.... The planet pack mods seem to be tricky in general because they change the entire planetary structure of the game universe....as such they have to be utilized at the beginning of a clean install so that everything spawns in the proper places.... Likewise uninstalling them in the middle of a save game could probably be equally disruptive, as now none of the planets are where the vessels and bases and whatnot thought they were last time you played....so that is probably equally bad to do.... I see Galileo is replying as I'm writing currently.... So I'm going to go see what he said.....good luck...
  3. What did the error log say? I'm not good at reading game logs but it looks like it was trying to add terrain textures related to GPP and maybe ran out of memory and crashed.... I'm not sure if GPP is installed correctly or not...I think I saw some weird stuff relating to it, but like I said I'm not the best person to ask really....
  4. I don't understand how any of this works....or I'd help you.... I'm having a hard enough time getting help with anything myself. I honestly don't think I even enjoy playing anymore. I spend more time trying to get things working properly then I do actually playing the game and having "fun." Game gives me a headache....

  6. If using Windows you could see if you had a system restore point from before you tried to install the driver that broke your sound.... I would do that at least before I tried to reinstall my OS.... There are a number of free driver updater programs you can run to find and install new drivers for you.... Most or all of them include a way to reverse any changes in the event something like this happens....   7. Yeah what he said, @Devinous.... No mods belong IN your SQUAD folder. They go along side SQUAD in the GAMEDATA folder. Everything in that GEA folder he told you to delete is in the WRONG location an is going to continue to bork your game.... Delete GEA and then install GEA properly and in the correct location if you wish to use it.... You can install EVE and clouds a number of ways, like stock visual enhancements, astronomer's visual enhancements, just EVE but with it's configs, or the sci-fi visual enhancements if your computer is a potato or you are running a ton of other big mods like I am.... The visual mods that are not just EVE say to install EVE, but not it's configs because the other mods are providing their own set of cloud configs that need the EVE mod plugins to run them, but not EVE's config files for EVE's default style of cloud layers....most visual mods tweak the clouds and add different cloud layers than EVE's default cloud configs.... You shouldn't have two different instances of visual mod config files.... The bottom line is whichever you choose it has to go in the CORRECT location....which IS NOT your Squad folder.... And you've already deleted some stuff and not others so your GEA install is already a disaster. Delete the rest of the GEA folder and start over (not your game I mean installing the mods you want), and install stuff properly....
  8. Enable advanced tweakables in settings and then autostrut said faring weak spot so the ship no longer breaks. Farings are often weak spots on my ships if I don't autostrut.....sometimes the thing inside the faring wobbles back and forth until it snaps off....
  9. Yeah you may have to think along the lines of removing the card physically from your system or disabling it entirely... Maybe you can disable the card in your device manager settings....if you don't want to take your computer apart.... Depending on your BIOS settings it could be possible to disable it too.... My current motherboard BIOS sucks though....I'm actually pretty disappointed with it. Back in the day I had an awesome 250 dollar ASUS motherboard where I could tweak just about every little thing on the motherboard....the FSB, the voltage and latency timings of my RAM, disable slots. My current mobo basically lets me change the boot order and that's about it....
  10. Believe it.... I can't believe how many mods will work with either directx11 or opengl, but not both.... Like some mods work with one but not the other....so you have to pick and choose what you can use and still have everything work. Not having the parts show up with directx 11 at this point is beyond riduculous....especially since directx 9 is on it's way out.... Pretty much every major gaming developer is ending support for DX9 this year or has already....

  12. I don't even know how to change the settings for dynamic battery storage....where are they? There aern't any in the folder.... And it's not the first time....it does that all the time....

  14. I'm saying I've looked at quite a few error logs at this point and I've not yet seen one with bonjour on it.... Xinput1_3.dll is on pretty much EVERY error log I have seen.... I'm just going by the fact that it is unusual to see it listed. It may be a hint....lol.
  15. Did you get a different error when you did the xinput1_3.dll swap? Like did that disappear from the error log at least? I've never seen "Bonjour" on the list before... What's that do?   16. That sucks. Do you have error logs and stuff? Usually if you zip the error log, KSP log, and Output log and upload them to like Dropbox and share the link in the appropriate technical support thread people will try to help. Amazingly it seems like almost NO Squad staff help though.....I always thought the point of game forums was to get help with the game from people involved with the inner workings of the game....not just bored people.... If you look in this thread, there is like one staff response and it was basically, "that's not my department...."

Yeah.....I still don't completely understand how or why this helps....I think @Lisias, has a better understanding of why and how.... and it was some really long winded explanation about dll files...lol There is some sort of explanation in this thread from him if your read through it....we discussed it after I reported it.... All I know is I was crashing all over the damn place before I discovered this issue....and now magically I am not.... I have at least one confirmed report of this helping someone else (I think) from @JPGSP, we were writing back and forth via forum mail a day or two ago. I asked him to report back here if it definitely helped....either it did help and he forgot to mention it here, or it didn't and he gave up....lol....
  18. What does this mean? I have the lv1 Observatory present....I think, as I can click on it and go inside it. I picked hard so I had Kerbin, Kerbol and the Mun present and researched by default..... I believe the lv 1 Observatory was present without me purchasing it, even though in the game difficulty setting I did not select that option..... Would Kerbal Konstructs or Kerbin Side cause this to occur? Found some planets.....THEN I got a contract to do basically what I just did....Is there any way to get the contract FIRST? Apparently you cannot take pictures with this particular telescope...I am assuming it came with the research bodies mod as I have never seen it before.... Also I haven't unlocked or launched a "James Webb type" telescope in this save with research bodies installed (the type of scopes that you CAN take pictures with). What happens if I manage to find a planet and take a picture of it before "researching it" with a research bodies telescope? I had used Tarsier Tech and James web previously WITHOUT the research bodies mod in a different career and game installation, and took pictures of planets for science. Back in that save game I told you I didn't have any planets or galaxies listed on the list with the telescopes....I haven't confirmed if this was the case in this save yet.....because I haven't gotten that far in the tech tree yet....   19. Is this bad? I honestly don't understand all the nonsense in logs..... I'm not using cryo-engines or cryo-fuels or deep freeze, so I don't know what the point of all this nonsense is.... Also why does the mod have so many empty part configs? Are they necessary for the mod to work?

Think I updated "click through blocker" or "Toolbar controller" on CKAN recently....within the last day or two....don't know what else I could have done to break KEI recently.... I haven't added any more mods or anything. All I have done recently was complete some contracts in the game and maybe unlock some tech tree nodes with science....
  21. Hey @linuxgurugamer, Suddenly my KEI has ceased working... It was working earlier in my save game, but I never used it to collect science, I was saving it for s rainy day.... I was going to use it now but when I click on the button nothing happens.....tried right clicking and left clicking.....nothing. All my other buttons work.... I turned on my debugging menu and when I click on it, it says "NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object" I already tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it, that didn't work.... I thought maybe a science I unlocked conflicts with it or something. I tried removing Impact....that didn't work.... Any ideas?
  22. I've built planes where the center of lift was displayed as just a blue circle with no arrows....no idea what caused it.... Throwing away the build and starting over seemed to fix it.... It's happened to me on more than one occasion.... It may have happened once because I switched to the SPH from the VAB with the button in the VAB....
