  1. Alright; My OTRAG career concludes with a flyby Jool 5. In total it was 8 launches.
  2. I spent a lot of time making a cruise missile that has a range and stability well long enough to hit a target beyond the NE Island only to discover that I cant get range extender to work at that range...
  3. Okay @Pds314, Here is my second submission: 1. 85,468 2. 0, Plug and Play 3. 10,000 Not reliable at all. 4. 5 (20,000ish) 5. 6,000 (Class F) 6. 2,000 Serious Damage (probably would have shattered if I didn't autostrut every part to the root as usual.
  4. Okay, We needed a baseline. I am just a lowly pilot IRL and far too dumb to do your fancy math so I'll leave it to you Mr. @Pds314. The drone plane is Class B. (It is actually an Ore carrier from another current challenge. The SAM is "Plug and Play," and very reliable. It costs 10,572. On these tests it hits the target from a range of about 15KM. It totally shatters the very heavy target every time. While I am sure this score can be heavily improved, I wanted to throw up a quick entry to get a scoreboard going.
  5. I was going to start by shooting down a traditional airplane. Is there a mod or trick that will allow me to switch away from an aircraft during atmospheric flight? EDIT: I've downloaded "Physics Extender Continued" which seems to do the trick.
  6. Great, now I'm gonna obsess over making a reliable automated A-SAT device.
  7. The children of the Island Airfield want nothing more for Christmas than some ore! Yes, this is another iteration on the popular 'Island Ore Delivery' challenges that pop up from time to time. Most recently @Ultimate Steve's. Get as must Ore to the Island Airfield as possible. Here's the thing: Rocket propulsion only. No jets, rovers, props, karkens, etc. You are fuel restricted. There are two classes, Large and Small. Small class can use no more than 360 units of Liquid Fuel. Large class can use no more than 2880 units of Liquid Fuel. You will find that these are standard size tanks. Feel free to use multiple stages, drop tanks, etc. You must take off from KSC but I don't care how. If you get silly with your launch system keep it a reasonable size; let's say everything has to fit inside a hanger/VAB (not Hanger Extender.) The ore tanks must arrive intact and come to a stop on this island.
  8. Actually, let's go the opposite direction with that. Since the challenge was based in 1.10, when it didn't matter. Let's say that the seats DO NOT have to be filled (other than pilot). It'll also simplify loading crew.
  9. Alright, My OTRAG run has left the immediate Kerbin area with landings at Gilly and Ike and atmospheric science collected at Eve and Duna.
  10. I was all proud of myself for my new design but I didn't do the math and it ended up slightly MORE expensive than my last design! 41 Mun tickets at a price of 787 each.
  11. Well I got way too into this for a challenge that nobody else it doing... It ate up all of my KSP time for the last several days and I'd gladly give it more if anybody else joins in! Thoroughbred: 22500 Clydesdale: 48000!!!
  12. Have fun with it! I made this in order to learn some new things about props, but really what I learned is that I'm just not that into it! Oh well, enjoy.
  13. Okay, I got pretty into this today. I'm sure each of these designs can be improved. If anybody challenges me, I'll refine them. Flea: 75 Hammer: 600 Thumper: 1080 Kickback: 4500
  14. @Ultimate Steve, Specifically because you did not list a Mite leaderboard I had to spend my morning making it happen! Then I filled up the tank, swapped in a Shrimp and went again. Mite w/1 unit. Shrimp w/ 75 units.
  15. You might consider making a fuel type requirement because it is possible to navigate the globe using only electric charge.
  16. @Dman Revolution Glad you are here! Looks like you can give @fourfa a run for his money! Unfortunately, this run won't count. First, because it is descending. Second, because it is over torqued. While this is not expressly forbidden, it violates the spirit of the competition. On another note: You say that your motors are clipped into fairings. From the pic, it looks like the props are exposed. Placing your props in a fairing is against the rules.
  17. @fourfa, you mind putting this craft on Kerbalx? Id like to see some of the fine points of how you've got the props angled etc. Clearly you've got it figured out.
  18. I may stack about a bajillion of these in a row to make a KSP "electric Turbofan." (Yes, I know that's not really a thing.) I've got a couple other challenges I'm working on at the same time, so i may not do it tonight.
  19. No rules, this is the sort of thing I was hoping for. I never considered surface attaching them. Are you still able to adjust pitch in flight be assigning a command group?
  20. How are you attaching all of these? I assumed that they would not actuate if not attached to the attachment nodes.
  21. So, in a nut shell: Do a career run where all crafts must be recovered within 10km of an airfield. Yes? If this is true, why do we need all of those mods? Can we just land everything back at KSC and call it a day?
  22. Alright, I've completed landings at Minmus and Mun and am now ready to go interplanetary. Now things will get interesting.
