  1. Edit: All the images in this specific chapter were broken for a while, since I originally accidentally uploaded the pictures to Imgur anonymously and Imgur, of course, decided to change its TOS to ban anonymous uploads, among other things. Anyway, everything in this chapter should be mostly restored now, which was quite painful, but I've never appreciated internet archive so much. I might have gotten just a teeny bit sidetracked re-playing the entirety of Endless Sky. Chapter 10 "We're flying in formation with [Gemini] VII. Everything is go here." - Wally Schirra
  2. Ah, sorry for being an idiot and not specifying anything. Go to the releases and just download KEX-Plugins.zip and just install it like you would with any other mod.
  3. I was lazy and just installed the whole thing, but I assume that removing the .dlls you don't need should be fine.
  4. It's an inside joke. I posted a picture of the Leo spacecraft on my discord server, and @JaviAvali just started calling it weebil. So it's kinda a thing now.
  5. Thanks! Ever since I bumped up the quality, BARIS hasn't been giving me as many failures (which is, hands down, a good thing). But a small part of me misses the Explorer days - constant failures make interesting scenarios. weebil
  6. Chapter 9 "I'm coming back in... and it's the saddest moment of my life." - Ed White
  7. Is it just me, or is the ranking system gone? There used to be dots under the name, right?
  8. Thank you, I really appreciate it! I'm having tons of fun making this, so I don't plan to stop anytime soon. There's a lot more I have planned that I'm really excited to show ya'll!
  9. I sent Jeb and Bill into orbit on the first flight of the Leo spacecraft, along with some tasty corned beef sandwiches
  10. Chapter 8 "We have taken steps... to prevent recurrence of corned-beef sandwiches in future flights." - George Mueller
  11. I think it would be an amazing idea - even if nobody reads it (which is quite unlikely), you'll at least have a place where you have documented your own designs and thought process, like a snapshot in time for you to look back on. I think a really in-depth and detailed report would be very interesting to read, especially how you designed your rockets based off of historical rocket designs. Personally, I think there's a lack of (in-depth) mission reports, so this would be great. If you end up posting it, I'll be looking forward to reading it.
  12. My bad, it's not actually an option with KSP, since I don't it has apple silicon support - it's native intel, so it only runs with rosetta and you don't have the option to change that. Try opening KSP using the launcher, I remember getting startup issues with KSP the first time I downloaded. I ran it through the launcher, and then KSP magically worked - you just need to open it with the launcher once, and you should be able to just open the app regularly.
  13. I'm playing KSP on the M1 chip, and it runs perfectly. Just make sure to go to the 'Get Info' menu (or press Command+I with the app selected) and tick the checkbox 'open with Rosetta".
  14. What are warning points exactly, and what do they do?
  15. I wouldn't know haha - when I was playing my previous stock save, I never really frequented Minmus, I just skipped over it after going there once or twice. I just prefer the Mun better.
  16. Looking back at what I did, I think I forgot to account for the Minmus transfer windows. I was launching at odd times, that's probably what screwed the transfers and astrogator up. Yeah, Pioneer-2 did get to Minmus, but it was about 100 m/s short of the braking burn. With the SRBs stuck on, I got the boost I needed for Pioneer-3. That's probably a smart idea, I'll keep that in mind for the future. Never heard of it before, I'll go check it out! Although the mod list isn't up to date, I've been adding mods. I should probably get around to updating it actually.
  17. I know of a few mods that could help, but it might be a bit of a stretch. Tarsier Space Technologies has a great ChemCam: As far as I know of, there are only two mods that have airbags/floats/anything like that. USI survivability pack has some nice floats and airbags - albeit, they are a bit dated, but they all work fine. It's now packaged in USI Exploration pack, but you can remove the other parts easily enough. Comfortable landing is mostly for capsules and the likes, but it has a standalone airbag part that might be useful. Happy Roving!
  18. No promises, but if I can work out the kinks, then I'll definitely be using it.
  19. I sent a tiny little probe around the Mun: And another one to Minmus too, on the augmented version of the same launcher: Also, I did a thing: It actually flew surprisingly well (with SAS on, at least.) I'll definitely use this in the future.
  20. Green cheese! I didn't think of that, because I'm dumb The Pioneer satellites are pretty much engineering testbeds, so there's not much (I literally just stuck a magnetometer and a thermometer on it, and only because it looked cool). In the future, I'll send dedicated satellites (I have SCANSAT installed), but for now I just stuck them into equatorial orbits because they looked cool. They might be useful as relays for future missions. BARIS is a cruel mistress. Luckily, I did check back up on the Astronaut Corps and they're all okay.
  21. Getting back into the rhythm of things! Chapter 7 "Shoot for the Moon - even if you miss it, you will land among the stars." - Unknown
  22. I would guess that you would probably have a few chemically powered dedicated OMS engines, or perhaps small space tugs to maneuver the Orion for precise maneuvers.
  23. Since I finally got KVV working (albeit with a few bugs), I decided to make a nice little graphic about the evolution of one of my rocket families just for fun. Of course, that led me down a long rabbit hole of working with GIMP and reading tutorials and... designing an (intentional) missile. I spent way long than I thought I would, but I thought it looked quite nice: Unfortunately, I forgot to save it so I never had the chance to actually fly the missile. But I'm sure I'll 'accidentally' simulate it with one of my regular launches someday
