Wow, thanks guys! I never would’ve known to do these tips. The total mass of the lander was about three-two tons. I did launch at transfer window, at roughly 54 degrees. I was definitely off a little bit. I was using a nerva for my transfer stage, so I wouldn’t really be able to slow myself down by burning retrograde, as I would’ve been forcing my periapsis too low. Which as Snark said might just be the trick... thanks again, your advice will be incredibly helpful!

Well, you don’t have to use some op engine for the Kerbol system...It’s always up to you, the player to choose how you play.

The heatsheild went first, the lander went after the heatsheild was gone. Thanks for the advice. I didn’t know that the inflatable couldn’t take that..at what altitude would you recommend aero capturing?

Personally, I won't mind a stock life support system. As long as we can enable/disable it, and it's really simple, ea. 1 kerbal eats x amount of snacks per day. You need to pack x amount for your 128 day journey to Duna. That'd provide a fun yet simple challenge. Untill you go to places like Eeloo and Jool. Or when you have lots of hungry lil'kerbals. Maybe we could even grow snacks on places like Laythe and Duna. Who knows....it'd be cool though. Those kerbals look pretty spiffy...prehaps a kerbal revamp is included?

I get many kraken attacks on console. It usually happens with phys time warp, even at just 4x, the craft starts shaking and goes ka-plooie. Whatever's left usually leaves the Kerbol system... We must hold a ritual to wake the kraken from it's deathly slumber

But don't you have to go into a high Kerbol orbit to get to Duna...? food for thought

It's really not 'genderism' superman was the og superhero to fly. (I think) So typically when thinking of the power of flight, most folk'll think of him instead of 'superperson' xyz. For those who need to appease the Kraken before their voyage to the stars, in order to let them live

Today I went to Eve with a probe. That had a scientist strapped to the side. ‘Ol Chedron Kerman isn’t coming back to Kerbin... But I did get quite a few science points! It took me like two hours. I built my rocket( I don’t plan missions, I just come up with a loose idea, throw something together see if it works. If not, back to the drawing board...)And I sent it up to kerbin orbit. My transfer stage to Eve used a single NERVA, and I forgot reaction wheels, so I to revert. I got jt into orbit again, and only had to wait about 20 days for a transfer window. I plotted a course for Eve and prepared to Aerobrake. However, I kept on blowing up...even with a ten meter heatsheild. I had to reduce re-entry heating, as I was bordering 30 attempts to enter the atmosphere. After doing that, I did manage to successfully land. I did over do it with the chutes though. I would’ve been fine with two drouge chutes. Oh well...

What do you mean? There’s nothing in between Jool and Duna... It’s a long running joke in the community that Dres doesn’t exist.

Question is, where is this ‘Dres’? Why have people’s explored it? What could be gained by a exploring planet that doesn’t exist?

Today I sent a lander to Eve for the first time. I entered the atmosphere at 6,000 m/s at 62,000 meters. I was using the ten meter inflatable heat shield, but I still blew up. Any advice?

I agree with you. I usually use a wolfhound for my Duna missions. The wolfhound is incredible, it has a much higher twr the the nukes, it provides more delta v in comparison to the same amount of liquid fuel. Only problem is all of that oxidizer really weighs a lot, making it a bit of a struggle to get off of kerbin.

I don’t use cheats anymore, I did when I was a noob (ok...when I was more of a noob. I’m not anywhere close to the master level of a thousand hours) but I used them Cus I could barely figure out how anything worked.

@Superfluous J you’ve got a really good point. Squad really did cover their bases, and any more planets or moons probably would have been seen unnecessary. Maybe their could’ve been some good ones, but ditto. You really did cover it well.

Dang man! Within the first two weeks of playing ksp I was still messing around in sandbox mode, heavily abusing srbs and the infinite fuel cheat. Kudos to you man, I actually started to ligit play the game a few weeks ago(before I just did random missions in sandbox) What mode do you play? I do Science. Career is incredibly buggy on console...
