KSP2 Release Notes

Never thought I would get to a point where I would be arguing with people about clouds in a game about vaporizing frogs, life can be funny. All of the complaints comes from one, maybe two images of an early access game, none of what you see in these images is indicative of the entire cloud system in the game. Besides, the first game didn't have clouds at all, let alone any good atmospheric effects and now that we finally have them were comparing them to mods that hardly anyone can run? I know it comes down to personal opinion at this point but I don't think the clouds in KSP should be realistic at all. The clouds in the first game you could get with mods looked awful in the game, and my computer suffered while rendering them.

A few questions about KSP2 early release
Minmus Taster replied to Souptime's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
Not a spokesperson for the team or anything but here's what I know; 1. The DLC parts will not be in KSP2 to my knowledge, gotta have some reason to get people to play the first game. 2. Unknown sadly, probably won't be known until release at this point 3. Nope, it has been said on multiple occasions that you won't have to pay the regular cost if you buy it early. 4. I assume it would work like the first game where you can download copies as many times as you want with your account. -
As far as I'm concerned the missing effects are good, as far as I know you don't launch a rocket in the real world and have it be set alight on ascent. I think it has more to do with how they've tweaked the atmosphere than the actual effect being impossible to create.

Planets in KSP2
Minmus Taster replied to DoctorKerman's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Pretty sure all of the new planets and stars were designed by developers. But some of the smaller surface features are procedural to avoid spending hundreds of years designing hills of course -
Those trees really add to the KSC's atmosphere, that little road you see as the plane flies up feels almost like a real place I could take a stroll down. Also, I can't be the only one here who actually really likes the clouds? They don't try to be super realistic like some mods I've seen, those mods look good of course but they're kind of jarring and out of place for KSP. But the clouds in the second game look really awesome but also cartoony and not too hard on certain potato PCs

Orbital Reef / Starlab / Noname Northrop Grumman Station
Minmus Taster replied to Shpaget's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Non-inflatable makes sense for an initial module, they seem to have added new docking ports to it which probably isn't possible with a non-rigid structure. -
Oh hi there again! @Caerfinon?

2022 toty 2022 thread of the year
Minmus Taster replied to adsii1970's topic in Threads of the Month
Congratulations! My PC didn't come out of it's room to say hi but it means well. -
Conceptually they're a cool idea but what's the point of implementing one let alone several of them if they're so small and isolated. KSP2 seems to have prioritized making locations interesting and worth visiting and a player would probably rather go to a new star system than a single planet. Also there isn't any light so what would you even be seeing? I could imagine there being a planet 9 analogue in orbit of one of the stars but beyond that rogue objects would be fairly pointless at least in my opinion. EDIT; I misspelled "Rogue" didn't I?

Less than two months to go, at this point I almost don't care about the stuff coming after the first release (minus fixing the inevitable bugs). I just want the game to be out in some form so I can be sure it actually exists and wasn't just pandemic-induced shared psychosis.
