  1. First one was spotted earlier. I guess this could mean S20 stack and Raptor installation today/tomorrow?
  2. B4 on the move, NSF started the commentary. Road should be closed for 4 more hourse
  3. Despite the colour of the capsule, I'm pretty sure this shouldn't be in the Blue Origin thread
  4. There will be 3 parts total, the part 1 that comes out today is over 50minutes long
  5. Those damn SpaceX snipers
  6. That TFR has always been there, simply they hadn't renewed it yet in the last three days. The testing TFR is much higher
  7. Robert Gilruth's Saturn IB-based artificial gravity test, ideated as an intermediate step between the AAP zero g workshop (Skylab) and a large, artificial gravity station requiring between 3 and 5 Saturn V Liftoff: Extraction of the multipurpose experiment module and opening of the CM bays: CM receding from the upper stage to extend the tether: CM starting the rotation: End of the experiment and reenter:
  8. Should be easily, Dragon is roughly 1 ton lighter than Starliner
  9. Simply, because it wasn't required by NASA to. One of the requirements of Commercial Crew was that either selected capsules had to be "compatible", i.e. adaptable or at least possible, with the rocket that the other capsule uses. SLS won't be available for any commercial crew launch, and New Glenn (or FH, or about any other rocket) isn't crew rated
  10. Road closure starts in half an hour, so most definitely yup Edit: road should be closed now
  11. That should actually be S20's fuel arm, while the black parts are more likely to be catching arms
  12. I agree, and this is absolutely not the case, SpaceX has a very good employee approval rating as well asl low rate of accidents. It simply reduces to having 12 hour shifts doing at least 7 shifts every 2 weeks, remaining open 24/7
  13. There's actually the AR-1 which was made to work on Vulcan but not selected by ULA, as well as the more obvious Raptor which has a little less thrust than BE-4 using the same fuel combination for more isp
  14. Iirc at least 2 SN had the same thing, it went back to normal when they did a pressure test Edit: already disappeared it seems!
  15. We also likely have every engine installed now! Everything appears to be ready if they want to do the rollout
  16. According to people working on SLS at Jacobs on r/SpaceLaunchSystem, due to issues with integrating ICPS and LVSA November launch is no longer possible and december is all but certain, partly also because in every industry hardly anything mayor is on schedule in december due to the holidays. I can't find where I read this anymore, but I am pretty sure that if the launch slips beyond 2021 some component (the SRBs?) need to be certified again delaying further the launch. JAXA cubesats still not installed on Orion
  17. NASA paid nothing for Falcon 1, they became interested in SpaceX only when Falcon 9 and Dragon started being built. The only money came from customers, which were 2 DARPA satellites (failed), two NASA and one ORS satellites on the same launch(failed) as secondary payloads and RakSAT (only successful Falcon 1 commercial launch before being retired)
  18. we're at 19 engines delivered now, 3/9 normal raptors and 16/20 Raptor Boost. Only 5 are outside which means at least 14 are inside being installed or already installed
  19. I believe that by "compatible" it just means "has the right mass to be carried by either rockets"
  20. BO has no experience making engines that complex. The only engine they were able to make fly is the BE-3, a simple combustion tap-off cycle design; BE3-U, which they offered to NASA for the lunar lander and according to HLS documents created severe doubts it would be flight ready by 2024 is an open expander cycle, with BE-4 being an even more complex oxygen rich staged combustion engine that they want to be reusable for 25+ flights. There's rumors that its development is sufficient or nearly for single use like it would be on Vulcan, but BO is really more focused on making it ready for New Glenn than completing the contract for its competitor. Also, it had problems with the preburner some time ago, but they should have been fixed by now
  21. At the moment: - 12/20 Raptor Boost rolled to B4 - 3/9 normal Raptors rolled to B4 Rest in peace BE4 and its 9 engines not fight capable made in the last 10 years
  22. If I remember correctly Nauka was thrusting because it wanted to abort docking minutes after hard docking, so the rotation would very likely end up hitting Zvezda in that direction
