The Impossible battery... how useful would it be?
Irreversible Extents replied to Spacescifi's topic in Science & Spaceflight
At any rate, with normal conductive materials in this scenario, the substances involved would be thoroughly GONE in the event of a discharge this rapid. -
The Impossible battery... how useful would it be?

Yes, this is a very general value, when the specific heat of the materials involved are ignored. -

A full, total and instantaneous discharge- You're talking 3000 Terawatts. That is 3x1015 Joules/Second coursing through this thing. That produces a Celsius temperature value of 1579695229399.3918 degrees when fully discharged. (0.0005266 Celsius in 1 Joule). You heard that right, that is 1.6 Trillion degrees! Any chemists out there willing to figure out the insulator/conductor specs on that? -
I'm excited to see where launch pads/space centers go with this. In multiplayer, I imagine we would have to have more than one launch complex, to avoid two people trying to launch at the same time. It would be so cool to have modular space centers when this is taken into consideration. Modular space centers in KSP- Never thought I would hear that sentence.

KSP Loading... Preview: Slim Suit
Irreversible Extents replied to StarSlay3r's topic in KSP1 The Daily Kerbal
I can's believe it's happening! I remember back when you guys tweeted out the base design drawings for this, but never really thought it would actually happen! -
We are looking for a Part Designer!
Irreversible Extents replied to StarSlay3r's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
I am pretty good at modeling stuff in Blender, and I specialize in space-related images, but I'm not very familiar with how modeling for games would work. Also, I know nothing about coding. However, I guess I would say my knowledgeability in physics (I LOVE physics), engineering, and a little chemistry would definitely be a good contribution to the position. I probably won't apply, (I'm not even out of high school yet), but I would say I would make a good option for this position. -
Note: I wasn't sure if this was the right place to post this. Please notify me if there is a better location for questions like this to be posted. I was wondering if Squad had any restrictions based on the use of the names of Kerbals, the Planets, or the names of the parts in the game. Like if anyone were to write an unofficial story about the wonderful adventures our favorite little green men, or maybe a short film about them (like Matt Lowne's in-game-created movies), even if it isn't taken directly from the game (in the form of screenshots or screen-captured video clips). Based directly on intuition, I would assume you can reference the stuff from the game without any trouble, just remembering to credit Squad in any credit rolls.
