I was on my phone with my computer dead and I don’t have imgur installed, and now I’m in the same situation again

What is the most over- and underrated place in ksp?
Wizard Kerbal replied to Hyperspace Industries's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I’ve only been to a few, and i’m on console so the graphics suck, but i’ll still submit a comment. Over: DUNA: Hard to biome-hop, terrain is all the same, red, Rick May would not be disappointed. LAYTHE: IT’S ALL THE SAME! EVEN UNDER THE SEA! Under: Ike, just because Duna’s view is marvelous. Kerbin: Has many of the Easter eggs, and many biomes. EZ science. Would be capitalized if the water was better. Indifferent: Mun. It’s grey. Only saved me 80 deltaV ever, but the excitement of landing there the first time was hard to match. Also has the Mun Launch site which i’ve never used. -

Because they’re using a fairing, which work as heat shields that don’t even ablate! But, the base is vulnerable, so that’s why there’s a heat shield there. https://youtu.be/F5Bov7o_Bsc

Crashed a cargo plane (again!) because it forgot same craft interaction was on, dropping the cargo through the cargo bay, messing up the CoM and making me inable to pull up in front of a mountain. And revert bugged out again. After a failed munar mission, (this is in my head but) at least they were on kerbin to have proper “funerals”-a craft launching rectangles into a highly elliptical solar orbits. I believe in souls, so they can see the planets few had seen before. None, actually, in the case of Moho and Dres

Kerbin Sorta-Circumnavigation - Rewind
Wizard Kerbal replied to purpleivan's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
Phew that was a lot of deleting just to say, “I recognize that spot, I had to ditch there once when a rover-deployer ran out of fuel. You made a much better landing though - solely on the fact that it would fly again. -
A little Jool texture I'm working on [RELEASED!]
Wizard Kerbal replied to Felsmak's topic in KSP Fan Works
Isn’t it realistic that way? Personal experience may’ve influenced that comment, as where I used to live the sky was full of stars, but at my new house, there’s the moon, and 2 stars. -
I accepted a contract, 2 actually, thinking they’d be easy money. But I was wrong, of course. ”Test RT-5 “Flea” Solid fuel booster in flight over kerbin” and ”Haul LV-909 “Terrier” Liquid fuel engine into flight above kerbin” I throw a rocket together to complete these objectives. Once I get to the target zone, and have all the checkmarks, I hit “run test” button. The booster turns on, and I spin around to stay in the target speed range, but after the test concluded, the contract didn’t finish. Same with the terrier. I brought it to the proper altitude and speed range, but the contract did not finish. Does anyone know why they didn’t complete?

Attempted to fly a rover to the arctic in a cargo jet, but the kraken said no, flung it into the top of the jet and crashed the aircraft. 4 of 6 crew survived. 1/2 of the plane withstood the crash forces. And that’s why docking ports are a thing!

Kerbal Astronomical society
Wizard Kerbal replied to Newgame space program's topic in KSP1 Discussion
All the comets asteroids(I swear I’m not dumb, just tired) near kerbin’s orbit were peices of the Duna-sized object that hit kerbin that left on escape trajectory instead of capturing in orbit -
I was looking for some picture, and typed KSP cursed images, then that came up. What am I in trouble for? Mentioning it’s cursed existence, saying we beed bullying again or both?

Ah yes- fuchur (pronounced fūchur, the second u is “soft,” not y’know, the word that can’t be spoken on the forums)

KSP is supposed to be simple, so someone can have fun just picking it up and throwing their kerbals to their chosen celestial body, efficiently or inefficiently. Having to worry about life support, supplies, different fuel types, rocket construction times, radiation belts and a host of other things could ruin the fun for people. As someone else said, "I play (mostly) stock KSP when I have an hour or two to spare. I play RSS when I have days to spare.

The 1.25m cargo bays suck, so I did that to carry up to 2 "Science bombs"

I had an idea for something cool. I would put my retired aircraft next to the dessert airfield, and in a while, it would look cool! But then, I'm investigating the temple, and notice something weird when I take off. When I return, I investigate it and- The first plane at the graveyard, which I parked there facing the runway and obviously right-side up, is parallel to the runway and upside-down. I just want to know how this hapened happened.

Thanks!

Awww I just noticed there's the old youtube corner in the bottom Naming schemes for craft! We've all probably got them, even if it's just Untitled Spacecraft 1, 2, 3, etc. I was wondering how other players go about them. Mine are simple. Aircraft, depending on time they're designed. Terrestrial Planes Prefixes (I guess is the word) X-experimental P(followed by D or L, or both)-usable on other planets M-military use Mid A, B, C, D, E, I don't need to spell that alphabet for you. Suffixes -1, -2, -3, etc. Depending on design iteration. A, B, C Modifications. Beyond C it goes up a number. For Example, the first plane made would be a XA-1A. SSTOs or similar Prefixes X Same as before. SSTO It's an SSTO. (Interchangable) Specifies type of Spaceplane, sometimes eliminating the need for CO or CA. CO It prioritizes cargo. CW It prioritizes crew. RR Recoverable. Sometimes unnecessary. Mid Then, I put a cool name, like Firebird or Atlantis. No suffixes, because I feel like they're all 1-of-a-kind. A possible SSTO would be SSTO-CO Skyhawk, a possible spaceplane would be Shuttle Atlantis. Crewed rockets Prefixes X Mid Cool name. Suffixes L or F Local system (LKO & moons) or F, capable of travel beyond the kerbin system. (Number) Designates amount of crew Before this, I had like 50 prefixes that were redundant. it resulted in the 5CRRLCSTS. A possible rocket is the Hadfield-L5 Cargo Rockets Prefixes X RR Same as before Mid The name of a real-world engine, rocket, or star Suffixes(not used of on -1A -1, -2, -3, etc. Same as aircraft. a, b, c. Same as aircraft. A possible rocket is the RR-Raptor-B. Other When i'm first doing the tech tree, the first rocket ever is 1, followed by 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. Generally, only 3, 5, 6 are saved.

NO R34 ARTISTS NO! We desperately need bullying again. DESPERATELY. And I thought my safe search was on

I lost the original but I still have this video!

(2 things before this starts- I picture the start of the KSC as 1950, and I think kerbals that do not work at KSC exist.) The first cirkumnavigation of kerbin was an accident, after world-famous pilot Jebediah wasn't paying attention, and hit the abort button instead of turning up the heater. Now, even though there wasn't any pilot input, the plane in question, an experimental military cargo aircraft, was stable, and so it continued, until running out of fuel, and krashing into the ocean. Due to the nature of the Kraft, it wasn't told to the public. Residents that lived near the Dessert Airport saw a strange craft high in the sky. It was, as we now know, a C-2 being transported to the KSC after the last of the retired, obsolete C-1s had been delivered to the graveyard. The flight was nothing special, a climb to cruising altitude, then relax until landing procedures commence, and land at the KSC runway. Easy to handle for any astronaut, who Jebediah Kerman of course was at the time. And he preformed as expected, except when he dropped his muffin and nosed the plane down hard. But all was normal! And then, a bit later, 34 minutes and about 20 seconds into the flight, while closing his eyes and yawning, he went to turn up the heater. But of course, he missed, and pressed the abort button, instantly throwing him out of the aircraft and deploying his chute. This should be an outlier in the whole aircraft crash 3 minutes after takeoff and 8 minutes before landing statistic, but it wasn't. This happened 6 minutes before scheduled touchdown. Luckily, the air traffik kontroller's inexperience and paranoia paid off. As soon as they saw the plane wasn't following the predicted kourse, instead of radioing in with Jeb, desperately trying to find the "Radio on" button, they thought something terrible had happened, and instantly went into emergency mode, notifying the military their prototype was going to crash into a building, which I shouldn't joke about, lest I get a horde of vengeful amerikans. The military, initially panicked their enemies would get access to the prototype, decided to do nothing about it. The plane was close to the equator, far away from the USSW, and anyway, it was at 13 kilometers, cruising safely, until it ran out of fuel, at which point, it would be destroyed. And so, they sent a single Jeep to recover Jebediah in the grasslands next to the KSC. While the military & KSC's reponse was quite reasonable, the public response was, well, one "misklick" started the popularity of extraterrestrial konspiracy beliefs. A lot of cities are close enough to the equator to see a strange, white craft drifting across the sky. And because of the appearance of the C-2, boomerang-shaped front attached to the rear with 1 strut, can look like 2 kraft suspiciously bound together. Instantly, the morning, or nightly news were reporting on, "strange craft seen in the sky, what does this mean?" or "Aliens exist! strange kraft seen in sky!" News krews were happy to get such in-your-face statements. And, at the end of it, the XC-2's engines finally cut out, and it rolled to the left before diving into Roswell. The military was sad to lose a prototype, the KSC lost the military's trust, and Roswell bekame alien kapital of the galaxy, bringing in thousands of tourists and boosting Roswell's ekonomy. Now, usually i'd be in a place relevant to the story, but the crash site, aircraft graveyard with all C-2s are closed due to KOVID, and I can't interview Jeb while he's on route to Mars. In case you didn't want to read that, it was how I accidentally did a circumnavigation after pressing EVA and not view, presented in a short documentary-style whatwouldbeavideobuti'mnotthatgoodsoit'sa script, with many fictional aspects to make it cooler and more accurate to the kerbal world. BUT the plane did crash in the desert. NM, USA is a desert, so Roswell probably is too. The plane in this video is a C-1, but the C-2 looks quite similar. You'll see the shape I described. https://youtu.be/Jl5pUs9uuto

My first reaction was: OH MY GOD THAT'S FAKE! It looks so realistic! Anyway, the C-1.7 was tested. Cargo deployment is highly successful, and not just on water, anywhere!(https://youtu.be/Jl5pUs9uuto) Military paratrooper deployment has negative results in -Frame rate -Controllability -Cargo Survivability -General Effectiveness But positive results in spaghetti production rates.
